Savor The Moment by Nora Roberts

I have been waiting and waiting for this book since I read the first one last year.  In fact the first book of the Bridal Quartet got me started on Nora Roberts books which have been stellar to read.  Savor The Moment was fun, witty, and entertaining to read.  I fell in love with the characters again.

The Plot of Savor The Moment:

“Laurel McBane has always relied on her friends for support, especially when her dream of attending culinary school was almost ruined by her parents financial problems.  Now Laurel is repaying the kindness of her friends by creating extravagantly luscious tiers of cakes and other confectionary delights that add the perfect touch to thier clients’ weddings.

As for romance, Laurel believes in it-in theory.  But she’s too low-key to appreciate all the luxuries that other women seem to long for.  What she does appreciate  is a strong, intelligent man, a man just like Parker’s older brother, Delaney Brown, on whom Laurel has had a mega crush since childhood.

But some infatuations last longer than others, and Laurel is convinced that the Ivy League lawyer is still out of her reach.  Plus, Del is too protective of Laurel to ever cross the line with her, or so she thinks.  When Laurel’s quicksilver moods get the better of her-leading to an angry, hot, altogether mind-blowing kiss with Del-she’ll have to quiet the doubts in her mind to turn a moment of passion into forever…”

This book was a charming continuation of the four friends finding love and working together to make weddings the perfect day.  I love Laurel, now it is her turn and she finds love in the arms of Del whom she has known forever.  I love that they are able to find love and Del is confused but knows what to do.  Laurel has doubts about herself and Linda, Mac’s mom does not help secure her doubts.

One thing I think is fun to read is Mac and Carter’s plan for their own wedding and then Emma and Jake.  But Laurel and Del will now be finding that love.  The way he proposes is perfect for Laurel.  You end up with a smile on your face as you finish the book.

Savor The Moment is a book you will want to read again and again, the same with the first two.  Nora Roberts conintues the Bridal Quartet in this romantic, charming, entertaining, witty book.  The last book will give Parker her happy ending and one for the series.

Bed of Roses by Nora Roberts

The second book, “Bed of Roses”  in the series Bride Quartet was a delight to read with the characters of Emma, Mac, Parker, and Laurel are resurfaced.  But this time it is Emma’s turn in this quirky story of four best friends.

Childhood friends have been obsessed with the wedding business since there pretended their own wedding as children and now they function their own wedding business.  Emma is the florist and caters to the needs of the brides, even if it is a little crazy.  Of course this leaves life a little hectic to handle especially with a man in her life.  Right now she is concentrating on doing her work, until feelings are uncovered again for her friend Jack Cooke.  She always had a thing for him but never could touch him because you did not mess around with friends ex’s, of course he really wasn’t but Emma didn’t know this.  So Emma is there talking to Jack and he turns her around and plants a kiss on Emma’s lips and quickly Emma participates.

Jack couldn’t believe what he was doing when he kissed her but he was thinking about it for so long.  Of course since she was his friend and like a sister to Del he couldn’t be with her.  But Jack in this case took a chance.  After a week of neither one talking Emma came over and demanded why he didn’t do anything.  After the shock wore off the two of them hit it off.  Emma was happy, Jack was happy, the girls were and even Del came around but threatened to hurt Jack if he hurt Emma.

All was going well until Emma found that she wanted more and was afraid that Jack wouldn’t.  Secretly Jack loved Emma but he wasn’t there yet to tell her.

The second book was fun to read and I really liked how the women worked in their job and stayed so busy, very realistic when working in the wedding business.  I also liked how Nora Roberts set up the next two books and who Laurel and Parker could possibly end up with.
