Philippa Sanders was trying to help get a letter her sister had foolishly written to a rake, the Earl of Erskine. Philippa will soon need help when she is discovered by none other than the Earl of Erskine. The situation will quickly get out of hand when they are locked in together. Things will quickly spiral out of control and Philippa and Blair will find themselves together permanently.
Her Christmas Earl is a novella from Anna Campbell. I thought that this was a well written novella that certainly captured my attention. I have read several of her books and they have always drawn me into the story, I knew that this novella would be no different. This novella had a sweet romance that was built from lust to love.
So Philippa’s character was a good sister trying to help. She is someone who is forgotten about or stepped over, particularly by her family. I liked that there was a fire within Philippa, otherwise she would have been too boring. To bring out her fire was Blair, the Earl of Erskine. I liked Blair’s character. He was certainly a rogue but that did not rule his life. I liked that he never tried to trick Philippa and was always truthful, well except for initially trapping them in the closet. Together this couple will work perfectly it will just take awhile for Philippa to trust that Blair truly wanted her and loved her.
Becoming introduced to Gena Showalter’s novels was incredible luck. Picking up a book you don’t always know is chancy but I knew from the first book of the series Imperia that I was hooked to Showalter still. Quickly I went to find the sequel, The Pleasure Slave.
When Santa Fe antique dealer Julia Anderson was curiously drawn to purchase a battered jewerly box, she never expected it to contain her won personal love slave. Especially not tall, dark and sinfully handsome Tristan-a man hard to resist, and determined to fulfill her every desire.
Though Tristan was a rogue of the battlefield and the boudior, making love with Julia was like nothing he’d ever known. Yet revealing his true heart would break the centuries-old spell and separate them forever. And Tristan would do anything to go on loving Julia…even remain a slave through all eternity…
The Pleasure Slave was an incredible sequel to the Imperia series.
The characters and plot is very similar were the man wants nothing but to give in every desire to the woman who is called his master. Julia is priceless with her ability to want to set him free.
The idea of aliens is strange but really they are just magical people from another planet. Not your typical aliens you think of. But I like the idea behind the story and how they are not vampires or werewolves. They are a little different and have the ability to use magic.
The book holds comical dialogue and scenes which will make you laugh. Then there are those parts that make you cringe and hate the enemy. But when all is lost there is still some bit of hope in the mess of everything.
Gena Showalter delivers a sexy and funny story to the pages. Irresistible to read and can’t be put down.
The Men to the Rescue series brings another hero to the cover with Ethan Winters. Ethan Winters is another fireman who has been burned before but this time was a woman. His ex fiancee ran off with his ex-best friend. Rosie his ex-best friends sister is left behind as well.
Everything for Ethan has been going okay since then. He has been dating anything with legs but he is baffled when he wakes up to Rosie beside him in bed. Ethan didn’t remember anything happening, but he didn’t remember anything from last night. He decided to get wasted while at the award ceremony and that was all that was remembered.
Rosie who is a real estate agent has been in love with Ethan and had plans of seducing him but she wants to make sure that Ethan is over the hurt of what Michelle did to him.
The two are put together and it doesn’t take Ethan long to understand his feelings for Rosie were not all that platonic. Of course he still fought and Rosie edged him on.
In this book Harris, Buck and Riley are mentioned and Regina nicknamed Red. These characters will be next to find love. In the next book Riley will take his turn with a red head reporter.
This book was a very quick read being under two hundred pages but worth every page. The men to the rescue are amazing men to read about. They seem real along with the women that encounter them.
