Romancing the Billionaire

Romancing the BillionaireJonathan Lyons loved the adventure of finding a new site and discovering new items that had been lost but his life was never fully satisfying without the woman he loved. Jonathan lost the woman he loved ten years ago but now that she was back in his life he would not let go.

Violet DeWitt was closed off and comfortable in her job as a school teacher. She had wanted nothing to do with Jonathan or the wild goose chase her father would be sending them on, but as she was forced to go Violet went. She was fearful that she would fall right back into love with Jonathan, and with everyday they spent together she was in danger of loving him all over again.

Romancing the Billionaire is the fifth book to the series Billionaire Boys Club by Jessica Clare. I thought this was a great book and a good addiction to the series.

The character of Violet was hardened and closed off because of her past relationship. I wanted to shake Violet to let go a little and trust but the problem when she did that she was always hurt in the end. It takes an effort on Jonathan’s side to show her that she could trust again. Though I will say that it takes Jonathan some time to figure out what he truly needed to do in order to win back Violet. So Jonathan’s character was no villain and was a good man but he liked adventure. Though that life for Jonathan was lonely. I had wondered why Jonathan never even looked up Violet even under the circumstances he was told. I liked that the characters will be back together after ten years as it gave them time to grow up but those ten years left them lonely and disappointed in relationships.

Alright so the ending was yes very predictable because, hey, this is a romance novel, and I know with these types of books I will get that happy ending. But what I loved about the ending was that it was very sweet with the last clue. It gave closure, which I knew it would, and it explained everything. It was what Violet needed at the end.

Well I am moving on to the last book of the series with Cade as the last man. I am interested how Daphne will be. Will she be changed for the better or still self destructive? Once Night with a Billionaire is next.

One Night…Nine Month Scandal

One Night Nine Month ScandalKelly had felt heartbreak four years ago when the man she loved left her four years ago. Now he was back in her life when she was trying to get rid of the last reminder of the man. She will soon be swept into that life once more but this time she will have a child to think about.

Alekos had loved Kelly but he could not be with her. When he sees her four years later he finds that they still had that fire between them. He will still want her in his life but he needs to work some things out in his life.

One Night…Nine Month Scandal is a novel by Sarah Morgan. I have only read one other book from this author and loved it. I wanted to try another book from the author which led me to this book. I will say that I did not read the summary before starting the book. I just opened the book and started reading. Now from the title you can pretty much guess the plot so I knew what this plot would be basically about.

As far as the story I liked it. I thought the story pulled me in right from the beginning and I wanted to know why Alekos left Kelly to begin with. It was a question that left you guessing but Morgan will give answers and things about Kelly and Alekos’s past will be revealed.

Alekos’s character was very controlling but not in a cruel way. He was just a force to be reckoned with and one who got his way. Kelly was the sweet and somewhat naive girl who was swept away with love. She grows up in those four years and is more jaded but I liked her spunk and she was able to stand up against Alekos.

When you read the book you wondered what Kelly and Alekos have in common. It’s simple, sex. They lust after each other no matter what they are doing. Morgan will write their scenes well but you know that the couple needs more than just sex. She will write a complication which is with their past. I liked that Morgan gave the couple something they could share which was a similar past. This helped both of them heal to get their happy ending which was sweet.

Rumor Has It

Rumor Has ItGriffin Reid was back in his hometown once again for his sisters wedding. He will soon find himself staring at his sisters best friend Katie. He knew she was off limit but he went for it. It was supposed to be a one night stand but soon he will find he can’t stop thinking about her.

Kate Evans is a second grade teacher in her hometown. She has the chance to leave home for a year but can’t seem to accept because of fear with leaving her family alone. Kate will soon find another thing stopping her when she sees her childhood crush Griffin is back and her feelings have never changed.

Rumor Has It is the fourth book to Jill Shalvis’s series Animal Magnetism. The nice thing about these books are you can read them easily on their own. A little background is given and you wouldn’t get lost if you just picked up the book. Out of all four books that I have read I have to say I really like this one. They were all good but there was something about Kate and Griffin that had me wanting to read more and more. Kate had a unique situation with taking care of her family which she used as an excuse for not leaving. I liked that she grew stronger in the book and took charge even though it was not easy. Griffin was a war hero and it felt he was in a rut the entire book that is when he wasn’t with Kate. They each fought the attraction but could not keep apart especially as they each took that first step forward.

There is a little surprise that happens at the end that causes a little turmoil but Shalvis makes sure that the situation does not cause permanent damage. There is a perfect happy ending that left me smiling for Kate and Griffin.

There is a girl named Olivia in the book that is mentioned. I wonder if she will be the next one in the series or if Jill Shalvis will end it with the fourth book? Only time will tell but I will keep looking out for book from Shalvis maybe trying out another series other than Lucky Harbor series.

The Undead Next Door by Kerrelyn Sparks

The fourth book of the series Love at Stake has Sparks bringing out Jean-Luc for a final fashion store before he goes into retirement but that will stop when he sees a true woman he could fall for.

The Plot of The Undead Next Door:

“Heather Westfield has always lived a quiet life, but that all changes when she helps a very handsome, very mysterious stranger. There’s something not quite right about Jean-Luc, but still, she’s never been with a man so charming, so attractive…so wonderful. Now if only a murderous villain wasn’t after them, they might get their happily-ever-after.”

The Undead Next Door was brilliant. I was laughing, smiling, sighing over the whole book. The characters of Jean-Luc and Heather were fantastic and had great depth to their characters.

Jean-Luc doesn’t want to harm anyone and doesn’t want to fall in love but he can’t help it when Heather comes into his life with her cheerful daughter and wise-ass babysitter. Heather is a teacher who is unsure of herself in a lot of things. She can’t seem to be strong for herself all the time. But I do love that she is already aware that Jean-Luc is not everything he seems to be. I like that she thought he was an immortal which is almost right.

The bad guys are not really showing right now, but there is an enemy from Jean-Luc’s past who wants nothing more but to put Jean-Luc into the ground permantly.

As far as the other characters I still love how they are all interacting little by little. Ian is taking the potion to age himself so he can find love. Then Shanna and Roman are going to have another baby who will probably be like Constantine. Not quite human but the best part is she is going to turn to a vampire when the children are older. I didn’t know how they were going to do this with keeping them together, so maybe the same thing will be with Jean-Luc and Heather at a later point.

Kerrelyn Sparks is delivering hit after hit with the series Love at Stake and I can’t wait for the next one.
