Cordina’s Royal Family by Nora Roberts

This is the collection of the first three books about the Royal Family of Cordina. I took the chance on these three stories after I picked up the fourth and final book. I liked the fourth okay, but I went to look at these three.  It was fantastic.  Within this series Nora Roberts creates this whimsical, adventures, enduring, romantic characters and plot. Makes you sigh and jump for joy as love conquers all for those royal siblings.

Affaire Royale

Recently kidnapped Princess Gabriella has amnesia, but in the arms of bodyguard Reeve MacGee she finds a passion that’s unforgettable.

Since I read the last book first I found out about their daughter before I read about the parents. I loved this story as the beginning. It was cute, entertaining, and enduring. I loved seeing how Camille’s parents met. The Royal family is a delight.

Command Performance

Though His Royal Highness Alexander is destined to rule Cordina, it’s regal-and elusive-Eve Hamilton who rules his heart.

The second was so sweet and romantic. Both wanted each other but never went for it. Then fate gives them their chance only to have it more obstacles put in the way but not forever. It was funny, completely romantic story between them.

The Playboy Prince

Why is reserved Hannah Rothchild so intriguing to dedicated ladies man Prince Bennett? Is it her secret mission-or the fascinating lady herself?

The last story was lovely. I loved how reserved Hannah was and able to get the playboy Prince on his bend and knee for her. You knew there would be a happy ending but there were some bumps in the road.

The series of Cordina’s Royal Family was a delight to read.

Second Nature by Nora Roberts

Getting an exclusive interview with notoriously reclusive horror writer Hunter Brown was all Celebrity magazine reporter Lee Radcliff ever wanted.  And when Hunter agrees to the interview on teh condition that Lee conduct it on a camping trip, she can hardly refuse.  But after spending some time alone with the seductively mysterious author, Lee discovers the only thing she wants exclusively is Hunter.

Second Nature is the first novel of Celebrity Magazine series.  There are only two in the series.

Nora Roberts is an amazing storyteller and I will read anything by her.  At times there are some of her novels which don’t thrill me.  Sadly to say Second Nature was one of those.  I liked the characters and the plot was interesting but it didn’t really do anything for me.  I guess because there was no real action going on.  It was a story that just didn’t have enough in it.

But of course Nora Roberts I will continue to read.  She has many novels and for me I am sure that some will still not peak my interest but many more which will.

Brazen Virture by Nora Roberts

Grace McCabe was shocked to find her sister Kathleen living in a grungy D.C. suburb, supplementing her income as a phone sex operator after a bitter divorce. But with the company Fantasy, Inc. guaranteeing its employees complete anonymity, how dangerous could it really be? Grace was soon to learn the answer when she returned home one night to a horrifying scene that might have come from one of her own novels. Ignoring the warnings of cool-headed detective Ed Jackson, Grace sets her own daring trap to rouse a killer out of hiding. But what can protect her from a brilliant madman whose lust for murder stops at nothing…and no one?

Roberts delivered this sequel perfectly.  I loved that Ed Jackson was now the main character but you still got to have Ben and Tess in the picture.

The story had suspense, some thrill and of course romance all together.  Roberts gave hints about the killer but you weren’t sure until they named the person who had an alibi and then you knew.

Another great book to read of Nora Roberts.

Sacred Sins by Nora Roberts

In the last lazy days of summer, the merciless two-week heat wave is the biggest story in Washington, D.C. But the weather is finally knocked off the front pages when a young woman is found strangled to death-a priest’s white silk amice pulled taut around her throat.  Pinned near the scarf is a note that simply reads Her Sins are forgiven her.  It is a chilling crime, made even more terrifying when it is followed by a second murder…and then a third.  Suddenly every headline is devoted to the killer the press has dubbed “the Priest.”

The slaying have piqued the interest of Dr. Tess Court, a top-notch psychiatrist dedicated to treating the problems of the human mind.  And when the police make little headway in solving the crimes, Tess is reluctantly thrust into the very heat of the investigation.  Called in to create a detailed psychological profile of the murderer, she comes up with a disturbing and frightening portrait of a twisted soul who believes he is not murdering-but ministering.

Detective Ben Paris doesn’t give a damn about the killer’s soul or his psyche, and he makes it clear that he thinks calling in a psychiatrist is on a par with ringing up a psychic hotline.  What he can’t dismiss so readily is his immediate and irrestiable attraction to Tell.  Tall, dark, and good-looking, Ben has a reputation with woman that is legendary, and with good reason.  But the coolly elegant Tess doesn’t react to Ben like any other woman he’s ever known-and he finds the challenge enticing.  Now, as the two are thrown together in a perilous quest to stop a serial killer, the flame of white-hot passion flares.

But someone else has his eyes on the beautiful blond doctor…someone who dreams of saving her and cleansing her soul with his special brand of absolution.  And while Tess is confident she can help him, Ben can only pray that when the madman strikes, he’ll be able to stop him before it’s too late…

It really shouldn’t surprise me any more when I pick up a Nora Roberts book.  She has this way of writing that I seem to be drawn too.  Her characters are dynmic and her plots.

I was impressed with the suspense which was going on in the novel.  I wasn’t sure the killer and happy that our heroine would be able to make amends of a tragedy she couldn’t prevent.

There was romance which was fantastic to read but the plot held my attention.  There is something about suspense which gets your heart pounding a little faster.

Nora Roberts is a master storyteller.  What is your favorite Nora Roberts book?

Cordina’s Crown Jewel by Nora Roberts

This is the fourth book of the Cordina’s Royal Family.  I decided to try out the series, the last book of the series, and I liked it.  It was short and to the point.

The Plot of Cordina’s Crown Jewel:

For a few blessed weeks, Her Royal Highness Camilla de Cordina could be just plain Camilla MacGee.  And working for Delaney Caine in Vermont’s backwoods offered a perfect refuge from the press.  But as her irritation toward the cantankerous archaeologist grew into fascination-then desire-the royal runaway knew she’d soon have to reveal herself.

Del had never needed anyone, and at first he accepted Camilla’s presence only grudgingly.  But, as the remarkable beauty insinuated herself into Del’s self-sufficient life, he found that she filled an emptiness he’d never know was there.  Only, what was Camilla hiding?

I liked this story Nora Roberts and it has intrigued me to go in search for the first three but it wasn’t thrilling as many of her books are.  It was just another book but with some really great parts and some humor involved.

This story was cute and charming, a little slow but was enjoyable to read.  I liked the characters and the surprise that all the characters were not who they were supposed to be.

Sweet Revenge by Nora Roberts

Sweet Revenge is an amazing romantic suspense thriller.  As the reader you will become engrossed within the novels revenge plot and intriguing characters.

The Plot of Sweet Revenge:

At twenty-five, Princess Adrianne lives a life most people would envy.  Beautiful and elegant, she spends her days dabbling in charities and her nights floating from one glamorous gala to the next.  But her pampered-rich-girl pose is a ruse, a carefully calculated effort to hide a dangerous truth.

For ten years Adrianne has lived for revenge.  As a child, she could only watch the cruelty hidden behind the facade of her parents fairy-tale marriage.  Now she has the perfect plan to make her famous father pay.  She will take possession of the one thing he values above all others-The Sun and the Moon, a fabled necklace beyond price.

Yet just as she is poised to take her vengeance, she meets a man who seems to divine her every secret.  Clever, charming, and enigmatic, Philip Chamberlain has his own private reasons for getting close to Princess Adrianne.  And only when it’s too late will she see the hidden danger…as she finds herself up against two formidable men-one with the knowledge to take her freedom, the other with the power to take her life.

Wow, is all I have to say.  I love Nora Roberts books, she is one of my favorite romance authors.  Her plots and characters become real and you are completely engrossed within this world.

In this book I loved when you were able to read about the difference in the culture, it brings a whole new dynamic to the page.  And another thing I enjoyed reading was this was written over a period of the two characters lives.  You saw how they became who they were and when their paths would cross even if they didn’t know it.

I was very much enthralled with the story and really couldn’t put it down.  Adrianne is such and strong character who only has one thing on her mind, revenge but she will get something else along the way.  And Philip who is goal centered as well will be very outspoken about his feelings towards Adrianne, which I love to read.

Nora Roberts gives the reader a thrill when reading Sweet Revenge.

Hot Ice by Nora Roberts

“Even jaded Whitney MacAllister is taken by surprise when a stranger in black leather hijacks her Mercedes-just before the bullets start flying. But this is not ordinary kidnapping attempt and the wounded man is no common criminal. Without warning, Whitney is thrust into a partnership with an enigmatic stranger to stay one step ahead of death itself. Ahead of them is a last chance at redemption. Behind them is a pack of merciless killers who coolly eliminate anyone in their way. For both Whitney and the stranger, it’s an exotic quest for meaning that will take them to sultry wilds of Madagascar. There the game will be played out to its terrifying conclusion, one that may have no winners or losers. Or survivors.”

I am finding with each book of Nora Roberts she really knows how to work in a dynamic romance plot filled with adventure and really intriguing characters, some with too much attitude or not enough.  But whichever one she chooses they are enjoyable.

Sometimes I often wonder about some of the books as they start, will I like them and as soon as that pops in my head the scene goes from a little dull to quick fast pace that pulls you into the story.

In Hot Ice the characters are exactly like the title.  The business woman is very much like ice on the exterior.  The thief is hot on the outside.  A perfect match for disaster and mayhem but they pull it together.

I liked the plot of their adventure with sabotage, betrayal and all around adventure.  A fast paced romance adventure novel.

Savor The Moment by Nora Roberts

I have been waiting and waiting for this book since I read the first one last year.  In fact the first book of the Bridal Quartet got me started on Nora Roberts books which have been stellar to read.  Savor The Moment was fun, witty, and entertaining to read.  I fell in love with the characters again.

The Plot of Savor The Moment:

“Laurel McBane has always relied on her friends for support, especially when her dream of attending culinary school was almost ruined by her parents financial problems.  Now Laurel is repaying the kindness of her friends by creating extravagantly luscious tiers of cakes and other confectionary delights that add the perfect touch to thier clients’ weddings.

As for romance, Laurel believes in it-in theory.  But she’s too low-key to appreciate all the luxuries that other women seem to long for.  What she does appreciate  is a strong, intelligent man, a man just like Parker’s older brother, Delaney Brown, on whom Laurel has had a mega crush since childhood.

But some infatuations last longer than others, and Laurel is convinced that the Ivy League lawyer is still out of her reach.  Plus, Del is too protective of Laurel to ever cross the line with her, or so she thinks.  When Laurel’s quicksilver moods get the better of her-leading to an angry, hot, altogether mind-blowing kiss with Del-she’ll have to quiet the doubts in her mind to turn a moment of passion into forever…”

This book was a charming continuation of the four friends finding love and working together to make weddings the perfect day.  I love Laurel, now it is her turn and she finds love in the arms of Del whom she has known forever.  I love that they are able to find love and Del is confused but knows what to do.  Laurel has doubts about herself and Linda, Mac’s mom does not help secure her doubts.

One thing I think is fun to read is Mac and Carter’s plan for their own wedding and then Emma and Jake.  But Laurel and Del will now be finding that love.  The way he proposes is perfect for Laurel.  You end up with a smile on your face as you finish the book.

Savor The Moment is a book you will want to read again and again, the same with the first two.  Nora Roberts conintues the Bridal Quartet in this romantic, charming, entertaining, witty book.  The last book will give Parker her happy ending and one for the series.

MacGregors: The Perfect Neighbor

The last and final book of this series, The MacGregors, was just as well written as the last ones.  The book gave an ending but still a hope of the future for the MacGregor clan.  In this eleventh book, The Perfect Neighbor we met Cybil who is the daughter of Grant and Gennie Campbell.  They are family to the MacGregor and the children are elected grandchildren but to Daniel it is the real thing.

The Plot of The Perfect Neighbor:

“Brooding loner Preston McQuinn’s new apartment, like his life, was just the way he wanted it-dark and empty.  But when sunny Cybil Campbell came barging into his well-ordered gloom, he couldn’t deny a grudging fascination with his bright, bubbly neighbor.  Preston thought he’d closed the door on love for good, so why was he suddenly longing to open his heart to his incredibly perfect neighbor?”

Nora Roberts finishes the series in very much like the MacGregor fashion.  It was a joy to read as Cybil found love to a man who very much like her father just wanted to be left alone.  But Cybil would not give him that.  She found the way to his heart but Preston will find more and lose some.

A fantastic finish to a wonderful beginning.

MacGregors: The MacGregor Grooms

The tenth book of the MacGregor series brings us now to the other eligible men of the MacGregor clan, the grandsons.  Mac was married off in the last but now the time has come for D.C., Duncan and Ian to find their way to the altar with a little help from The MacGregor in The MacGregor Grooms.

The Plot of The MacGregor Grooms:

D.C and Layna will find love but through a different way of setting up.  The MacGregor, the grandfather of the clan, Daniel is telling D.C. that Layna is definitely not the one he should marry.  D.C. agrees until he finds he can’t live without her.

Duncan and Cat find love on the sea very much like Duncan’s parents with the nudge of Daniel and even Duncan’s mother.  Duncan soon finds that Cat is going to be the only woman for him and his wandering days are going to be over.

Ian and Naomi were going to be together.  Ian knew that he wanted her, to be with him, to be his wife.  He did not need to hear that bit of information from his grandfather, even though Daniel did play a part in the matchmaking.  Ian was going to have Naomi even if she didn’t think she was good enough.

Nora Roberts brings us more MacGregors in these three stories of the grandsons from The MacGregor Grooms. The book was charming, funny, and very enjoyable to read.  Daniel’s matchmaking skills will never stop and get rusty.
