Dirty Sexy Sinner

Jackson Stone had found out some life changing news, his whole life had been a lie. Jackson will find three brothers he never knew, one of them was his twin. He will try to make a relationship with them even as they were weary, though he will get some help from Tara.

Tara Kent had finally completed her business degree and had gotten a promotion at work. Her world will change once again when she meets Jackson, Clay’s twin.

Dirty Sexy Sinner is the fourth book to the series Dirty Sexy by Carly Phillips and Erika Wilde. This last book was enjoyable and a good ending to this steamy series.

Jackson’s character was not the rich kid his brothers had thought him to be. He had his own crappy childhood that had not been filled with love. I wanted to give Jackson a hug when his brothers rejected him, but that was only at the beginning. These Kincaid brothers were not easily trusting. It was interesting that Jackson was Clay’s twin and pretty tragic with how Jackson had been taken away from his twin. Despite it all he turned out well adjusted, just like his brothers. Tara’s character was a young woman who had her tragedy early on in her life. She rose above her own tragedy and was able to make something of her life. I loved Tara’s spunk but she was still very insecure, Jackson will help with that insecurity.

The ending was very sappy but I loved it. The authors gave a conclusion to these brothers and their wives.

Dare to Rock

Dare to RockGrey Kingston had wanted fame and fortune and he got that but now he wanted more. He wanted the girl he had left behind. Grey knew that he had to prove to Avery that they could make it which was hard when his manager and a stalker were making trouble for them.

Avery Dare had loved Grey since high school but knew that she never wanted his lifestyle. With Grey back she has hope but she will be hesitant to trust him. Though Avery will have more to deal with especially when reporters are bringing up her father’s past.

Dare to Rock is the fifth book to Dare to Love series by Carly Phillips. I really loved this book.

Avery’s character was fantastic. She is a bubbly and confident woman when she does her job but on the inside she is still scared and a girl who has panic attacks. I thought how her attacks started was so sad and I hated that it was coming back because of the reporters. Though Avery is strong and she will get through the trouble. Grey’s character was not the cliche rocker which I liked. He cared about his work and wanted what was best for his band mates. I liked that Grey had to work hard to win back Avery.

The problem that occurs are the threats that Avery receives because of some crazy fan of Grey’s. The woman is psychotic and it shows in her behavior. I thought that James gives a good twist on how this woman was so successful with her threats.

Spoiler Alert: I have made mention that I really disliked the father and the way he doesn’t inquire about Avery especially when she is threatened really pissed me off. He tells her that he is annoyed that because of her antics his past is coming back out. Though Avery will finally get through to her father. She gives him a speech that I was hoping one of the kids would give, that let him know how hurtful he has been to them. From how the father was acting towards the end I think there is a chance he will be there for all of his kids.

I am taking a very quick break for the next book but will be back. I will also be reading about the New York Dare’s in the series NY Dare to Love.

The Perfect Hope

The Perfect HopeRyder Montgomery is the carpenter of the family and is helping restore the Inn with his own hands. He will be frustrated with Hope from the moment she gets the job. A relationship will start to define after a New Years Eve kiss. He will want more from Hope but will not know how to handle it or her.

Hope Beaumont never thought this Bed and Breakfast would keep her happy when she had lived in D.C. and worked as a manager to a very glitzy hotel but she was. Her happiness steamed from her friends and having a purpose. All she had to deal with was Ryder who she couldn’t get along with, that is until they kiss and things changed.

The Perfect Hope is the third and final book from Inn Boonsboro Trilogy. I liked this book. Now did I like this one better than the other two, I would have to say no as I thought they were all equal. Each brother was a little different in attitude but even with that difference you knew they were clearly brothers and that was what I liked about the books. Ryder I will have to say was one brother who liked to brood and be sarcastic and was good at that. He is kind though as it could be seen by the way he treats his family and his dog. Also he was a man who wanted a certain justice to happen when something bad happened. He used his fist to help deal with some issues. Now Hope was not perfect as she made a mistake which will cause problems with her new life. Although with her friends and Ryder by her side she weathers the problem.

The ghost definitely is played up in the last book which makes sense as the series is coming to an end. Eliza is communicating more and more as she longs for her love, Billy, and a lot of this communication is with Hope as they are family. The group had to find out who this Billy was which was next to impossible. With hints from Eliza and Hope putting the pieces together they will find out his last name shocking everyone when the truth comes out. There were moments with the ghost, towards the end, was getting a little sappy but it was a reunion that was long overdue.

You can tell that Roberts wrapped up the series as each brother have now found the woman they belong with and the ghosts now had peace. I will probably be taking a break from Nora Roberts but I will be back for more.

Only His

Only HisNevada Hendrix was feeling restless and needed a challenge. She was looking forward to interviewing for Janack Construction but was stumped when she comes face to face with Mr. Janack’s son, Tucker. Tucker whom she slept with ten years ago and it was not the most memorable or pleasurable time, but she wants the job. She will keep him at a distance but soon that distance will fall away.

Tucker Janack remembers Nevada from years ago and wants her to work for him as she is qualified. He will be surprised to find an attraction between them but will keep his heart closed and any love is out of the question. He had been hurt in a whirlwind of an all consuming relationship but he will find that maybe he wants love with Nevada. That is if she gives him the chance to start again.

Only His is the sixth book to Susan Mallery’s series Fool’s Gold. This was a story of second chances for the characters. There are many heartbreaking scenes and heartwarming embraces that have you cheering for these couples. The main ones are Nevada and Tucker. I was really wondering if they would ever find that happy ending especially when Cat comes rolling into town. Okay the character Cat I know we are not supposed to like and I really couldn’t. I felt sorry for her at times but really didn’t like her. I wanted Tucker and Nevada to open their eyes to see what they could have and not run from it. To be fair the running is really on Tucker’s side.

Their are two other couples that get their second chances, Jo and Will, and then there is Denise and Max. I was happy for Denise to find love again with the same man she loved before. Susan Mallery brings the story of the Hendrix to an end with the happy ending the triplets receive. I have a feeling the Hendirx family will be mentioned later on in the series as all the other characters have a recurring role, so this is not the last we will read about the triplets and their family. I am excited to read more about Heidi as I have already read about Annabelle and Chantal “Charlie” who started me out when I read the eighth and ninth book of the series. Summer Days is next on the list.

Fitzwilliam Darcy Rock Star

Fitzwilliam Darcy Rock StarSo now that I have had read Aton’s books I am going with the modern world of Austen, and found myself gravitating towards another book that certainly takes a new outlook of the classic story Pride and Prejudice in Fitzwilliam Darcy Rock Star.

Now most have heard of the famous Darcy and Elizabeth and immediately know they are from Pride and Prejudice. What you don’t think is rock star but Heather Lynn Rigaud did just that.

In a world of glitz and glamour of rock and roll there is another side away from the cameras where life is anything but easy. Slurry the band are a hit and looking for an opening act and find it with Long Born Suffering. Sparks will fly immediately as the bands come together but things will fall and come crashing down as secrets and betrayal come between them.

Fitzwilliam Darcy Rock Star is something I loved. I know it sounds a little silly but this was a fantastic remolding of the classic story in the very modern world. There is a playfulness that the author Heather Lynn Rigaud has when she writes the book and it goes deeper with feelings that are dynamic and follow to Austen’s original script. There are of course things changed and you can definitely hear Rigaud’s voice through the book.

I was reading this book at night and found that I had to stay until the very end as I new it would plague me to know what would happen. Of course reading the original story I knew what would happen but as Rigaud had changed some things it would be possible for a different outcome. Happily there was an ending that suited me to cheer. It picked me up after reading the book. Not that there was anything wrong in this book but there were a lot of ups and downs, and betrayals. There were also steamy, steamy scenes for all the characters. In this book the characters are not exactly as pure as Austen’s were.

The characters featured my favorites as the main ones who are Lizzy, Jane, Charlotte, Darcy, Charles and Richard. Rigaud blended the characteristics of these characters I loved and made them modern which pulled you into their rock and roll world. With each character the background is done well to have enough drama to make it difficult for any of them to have a perfect relationship, which of course makes this interesting to read. Darcy and Lizzy had to overcome understanding there were feeling involved but not to move too fast, at least on Lizzy’s side. Now even though my favorite couple of course would be Darcy and Lizzy I was hoping that everything would be okay with Richard and Charlotte. They were almost dangerous to each other that is until they understood what was between them and what they were afraid of. Jane and Charles were almost too perfect but there is a little rocky ground they will have to climb over. Of course when there is Darcy and Lizzy involved a happy ending as I said will happen. If it didn’t I swear I would have thrown the book across my bed.

Our story is not complete without the notorious villain of George Wickman. He is certainly more of a villain than in the original and Rigaud makes you want to hate him and you do very much. But there is justice in the world as George will be getting what is coming to him.

Now since I don’t think I am going to find another modern book of Pride and Prejudice like Fitzwilliam Darcy Rock Star I think I am going to switch it up a little and go paranormal.
