Wanting more from Foster

The moment has finally come when I was able to pick up the copy of Lori Foster’s latest book in the series of SBC Fighters, Back in Black.

“Drew Black, a president of the SBC fighting organization, is a controversial as they come.  But this hotheaded entrepreneur is a perfect match for his popular sports club venture: uncompromising and extreme.  Maybe too extreme.  With a reputation for saying what he thinks, Drew’s been causing a lot of friction.  That’s why someone’s been called in to clean up his image, before he does any permanent damage.

The lucky lady is Gillian Noode, a PR expert who has smoothed out the rough edges on many a man.  But Drew is rougher than anyone she’s ever met, and he refuses to change for any woman, for any reason.  To make matters more complicated, Gillian’s starting to like him raw.  Now opposites aren’t simply attracting, they’re igniting. But in the rising heat, who will end up on top?”

This book, Back in Black, along with all other Lori Foster’s books are amazing to read.  They are exciting, sexy and fun to read.  This book was no exception, it was fantastic.  I didn’t have to read the plot because I knew I would like it, but I read it anyways.

In this most recent story the two characters are Drew Black and Gillian Noode.  They are steamy and complete opposites.  It is exciting when they finally get together but they are not the only characters.  On the side is Brett and Audrey another complete opposites.  Brett is the fighter and Audrey is the woman against the fighting but the two can’t stay away from each other.  I loved the villain in this story, a little crazy but you didn’t know exactly at the beginning.

The writing is fantastic with the enticing plot which is very funny and strikingly fast to read.  I couldn’t put down the book with the witty dialogue, steamy scenes with delicious characters.  There is some about fighters that gets your blood boiling.

Now the question, is there another book to the SBC Fighters series and is it coming out soon?!

The final chapter in Men to the Rescue with “Tailspin” by Lori Foster

The last short story of Men to the Rescue was a fantastic finish to the series with the realistic characters and outrageous plot of two dogs, Tish and Butch, coming together and matchmaking their owners.

“Sadie Harte’s chihuahua is head over heels for the chihuahua next door.  It’s impossible for Sadie and neighbor Buck Boswell to keep them apart.  And soon Sadie and Buck are finding it impossible to stay away from each other, too.  Clever chihuahua!”

Sadie is a kind hearted person who will help those who are can not help themselves, those on four legs.  But when Buck is standing there only in his boxers, locked out of his house Sadie is only so happy to help.  The least Sadie could do was to shelter Buck for a few hours in the morning along with Butch.

Buck was dog sitting for Regina and Riley while they were on vacation.  He thought it would be okay until the dog decided to wake up in 4 in the morning.  This is not ideal for Buck but that soon turns around when he spots his neighbor dressed in her white nightgown.  Usually dressed in a very prim and proper attire Buck appreciates the look of the nightgown.  For Buck she mystified him and he is more than willing to see if something can happen.

The two of them end up coming together from the help of the two chihuahua’s, Tish and Butch who are finding love as well.  It was funny to have Butch again in the mix and to him find love.  As this book ends all the characters of Men to the Rescue were able to find their own love and romance through their own partners.  In the last book love is found but the couples will gain a little more than their spouses.

Tempting with “Riley” by Lori Foster

Lori Foster brings another Tempting man in the series of Men to the Rescue in “Riley”. The strong, determined ex-swat is on a mission to protect Regina “Red” Foxworth by showing a few moves on and off the mat.

“Regina Foxworth has no clue why an unknown assailant is out to get a small-town reporter like her.  Or why the police woun’t take her concerns seriously.  So Regina gets a guard dog-make that a four-pound guard Chihuahua!-and signs up for self-defense classes.  But defending herself is not on her mind when sexy instructor Riley Moore has her pinned to the mat.

With Regina vulnerable beneath him on his gym floor, Riley breaks out in a possessive sweat.  He wants her, but first he has to protect her.  She needs him more than her don’t-muss-my-hair style of defense and that ridiculous so called dog.  Riley is ex-Swat and his new life as an evidence tech hasn’t softened his lethal training one bit.  But Regina isn’t quite the princess she seems, and she’s about to catch him off guard!”

Regina is a kind person and great reporter but she is starting get scared for her life.  Getting a guard dog was the first step of the solution.  The second was training with Riley for self-defense.  Of course her attraction was getting in the way.

Riley loved the chance to be with Regina and now with the threats he wasn’t letting her leave his sight.  Training her wasn’t enough so he decided to have her move in with him, to protect her.  And Riley is only to happy to spend some time with her.  As the two of them started living together the passion was flaring and the threat was trying to be discovered but there were still things unanswered.  The idea of love between the two and a framed photograph in Regina’s draw of the senator.

This book was another great book of Men to the Rescue.  I loved the characters of Regina and Riley, nice to see them back in their own book.  Regina and Riley were adorable together but Butch, Regina’s four pound chihuahua guard dog, was a new fantastic part of the book.  Getting the description and the behavior of the dog I visualized him perfectly.  Butch was fun to read about and a good factor to bring Riley and Regina together.

Trapped! by Lori Foster

The Men to the Rescue series brings another hero to the cover with Ethan Winters.  Ethan Winters is another fireman who has been burned before but this time was a woman.  His ex fiancee ran off with his ex-best friend.  Rosie his ex-best friends sister is left behind as well.

Everything for Ethan has been going okay since then.  He has been dating anything with legs but he is baffled when he wakes up to Rosie beside him in bed.  Ethan didn’t remember anything happening, but he didn’t remember anything from last night.  He decided to get wasted while at the award ceremony and that was all that was remembered.

Rosie who is a real estate agent has been in love with Ethan and had plans of seducing him but she wants to make sure that Ethan is over the hurt of what Michelle did to him.

The two are put together and it doesn’t take Ethan long to understand his feelings for Rosie were not all that platonic.  Of course he still fought and Rosie edged him on.

In this book Harris, Buck and Riley are mentioned and Regina nicknamed Red.  These characters will be next to find love.  In the next book Riley will take his turn with a red head reporter.

This book was a very quick read being under two hundred pages but worth every page.  The men to the rescue are amazing men to read about.  They seem real along with the women that encounter them.

Heartbreakers by Lori Foster

Heartbreakers is the collection of Lori Fosters two books in the series Men to the Rescue and let me say they are definitely hearbreakers that will take away your breath in “Treat Her Right” and “Mr. November”.

“Treat Her Right”

“Gorgeous, statuesque fitness expert Wynn Lane can’t help but fall for her sexy neighbor, paramedic Zack Granger, and his adorable daughter.  But brash, outspoken Wynn is not Zack’s idea of mommy material, even though she’s making daddy’s libido do flip-flops.  Still, the laws of attraction rule-and Wynn is a force of nature all her own!”

This story was fantastic to read.  I loved Zack’s little girl Dani.  She was the sweetest little girl and I loved how Wynn took to the little girl automatically.  Zack and Wynn’s attraction was very steamy from the beginning to the end.  Her family and the friends made the story comical and realistic.

“Mr. November”

“Creating a beefcake calender for charity.  Amanda Barker has found the perfect Mr. November, super-buff firefighter Josh Marshall.  But the notorious ladies man is a hard sell, and she’s forced to negotiate with the only collateral he’ll accept: a date with her!  Josh knows where there’s smoke, there’s life-but this could burn completely out of control…”

Josh and Amanda were a dynamic pair with all the  bantering they did together.  The man thing that was argumented was how Josh wanted her in his bed and Amanda kept refusing him.  Even though she can’t stand the sight of him with other women she wouldn’t give in.  I loved the fact that Josh the womanizer has fallen for the one girl who didn’t automatically throw herself at his feet.  I was waiting for his turn at love.

Lori Foster creates real life men in these real situations and makes you care what happens to them.  These two books left me smiling, laughing at the outrageous behavior of the men and hoping to find a real life man to the rescue.

Fallen Angels by Lori Foster

Lori Fosters collection of books for the series of Men to the Rescue is filled with steamy men, determined and passionate women, and enticing plots.  This collection starts off with “Beguiled”, “Wanton”, and Uncovered”.

“Beguiled”

“P.I. Dane Carter assumed his murdered twin’s identity to find his killer.  Angel Morris was his main suspect-a woman his twin had betrayed.  Now Dane could destroy her trust again.  By falling in love with her…”

This was a great book to start out the series.  Since I already read the third one I knew about some of these characters and that made it very interesting to see how they began.  I loved the character of Mick as a 16 year old kid and to see how got into his career.  Dane and Angel are fantastic together.  They are steamy, passionate and interesting.  I like how Angel is trying her best with her little boy and protecting both of them from the threats that keep coming.  I love Dane and how protective he automatically becomes of Angel.

“Wanton”

“Passion had clouded P.I. Celia Carter’s judgment once.  Never again.  Now she took on dangerous undercover assignments to deal with her guilt.  But P.I.  Alec Sharpe was determined to reawaken Celia’s sexuality…before she got herself killed.”

This story was fantastic with Celia as the character.  I love her drive that is making her be brave on this assignment.  Alec though doesn’t give a damn about her needs of helping all he wants to do is get her out of danger and in his bed.  The plot is Celia is undercover trying to find a missing girl who ran off with a man.  He told her that she could be a model.  Celia goes undercover as a young girl wanting to be a model and a whole lot of trouble follows but it also helps Celia find what she is really looking for.

“Uncovered”

Firefighter Harris Black stumbled across nude photos of a woman, and handwritten notes…about him.  Who was this mystery woman?  Harris hired a P.I. trace her…never suspecting he’d already found her.”

I really liked this story with Clair and Harris.  In here we also got to read about Dane and Alec for a little but it was primarily about Harris and Clair.  Clair wants more from Harris but she is not stupid, he is a womanizer.  Of course when Harris finds the nude photos he becomes obsessed with the woman not knowing they are really Clair.  Clair though wants Harris to want her and not the photos.

Easy and quick reads these books were fun to devour.  The steamy scenes were enticing and characters well thought out along with the plots.

Tempted by Lori Foster

Tempted is a collection of the series The Sawyers.  The three books are “Little Miss Innocent?”, “Annie Get Your Guy”, and “Messing Around with Max”.  After reading all of these books in this series I was laughing and smiling at all of the antics that happened.  I loved the characters, the plots and the steamy scenes, but what was great was how the women acted in the books.  How they threw themselves at the men that they wanted with little regard, very determined women.

“Little Miss Innocent” starts us off with Daniel Sawyer the oldest, who is a doctor.  One night he sees Lace McGee come into the hospital because a dog bit her on her behind.  Daniel knows Lace through his sister Annie, but they have never gotten along.  Lace is a sex therapist.  Lace doesn’t like Daniel too much because he is so straight lace but that will all change when Daniel decides to give in to Lace and her therapeutic ways.

I liked this story to see how Daniel and Lace were able to form their relationship and to see Daniel relax a little since he has always been the one to care for everyone.  His father is around but so out of touch to reality.

“Annie Get Your Guy” is about Annie the little girl of the Sawyers.  She is 25 and after a man, Guy, who she has been in love with forever, and he is about to propose to the wrong girl.  In an unfortunate accident leads Annie to try and get Guy away from Melissa and into her arms.  Guy can’t love Annie since she is his best friends little sister but that doesn’t stop his feelings, and when she starts her seduction of him there is no stopping it.

Guy and Annie are priceless.  They are best friends and perfect together.  I love their chemistry, even Dan who is Annie’s father loves the idea.

“Messing Around with Max” is the last story with Max who until lately was very much the womanizer but now he wants to settle down and find a wife and mother for his four legged girl.  Cleo was Max’s mangy looking dog and he treated her like a princess but no women has been able to get near her until Maddie Montgomery, who has her own views of marriage.  Maddie’s man goal is to gain a couple of notches on her bedpost and that is to be with Max, but she is going to get more than she bargained for.

I really liked how the books all ended.  Everyone found their other half, even Dan is letting loose and finding room in his heart to love another.  The Sawyer family was very funny to read about.

Caught in the Act by Lori Foster

“When robbery goes bad, undercover cop Mick Dawson can’t believe Deliah Piper (aka mystery writer Lela DeBraye) was just in the wrong place at the wrong time-and neither do the perps.  The only way to protect her while he investigates what really happened is to stick with her 24/7-and try not to fall for the object of his investigation.”

I decided to read this book first, technically it is the third one in the series, Men to the Rescue, but I got the book first so I would see what the series was like and I liked, fantastic to read.  I thought  it was fun to read and I loved the characters.  The scenes were steamy, right out of a fantasy.  I loved how the woman Deliah “Del” Piper is a mystery writer.  I found her charming, enduring, funny, and determined.  Mick Dawson was a man that you wanted to help save you from anything.

What I loved about this book what how fast Del and Mick had their sexual attraction, bam! it happened.  They knew that each wanted to be with each other and nothing stopped them.  They were close to falling in love when Mick got some news that took him by complete surprise in the worst way.  He heard from one of the robbers that Del was part of the robbery and to make Mick believe him he told intimate details that happened between Mick and Del.  The worst part was when Mick thought his heart was breaking.  Del was brought in for questioning, denying everything.  She was hurt as well but it was Josh and Zack who told him he was an idiot for thinking that.  Mick understood he messed up and hoped Del would forgive him, which we know she will.

Casey by Lori Foster

The last book in the Buckhorn series by Lori Foster (in the collection Enticing) and it was amazing.  I don’t have a favorite brother/Uncle but Casey, the son of Sawyer was wonderful.  He was just like his uncles and dad.

Casey in his youth is chased by girls and the one he resisted was Emma Clark.  He liked her but didn’t know that it was more until she ran away from their home.  Eight years later Casey is a vice executive in his stepgrandfathers company and doesn’t love it.  His life is fine, love his family but he has not settled down.  He keeps dating but not finding the one.  It is late at night as he and a woman, Kristin who he worked with, were driving down the road when he saw a car stalled on the road.  He gets out to help and low and behold is a woman from his past, Emma Clark.  Casey is blown away how she looks.  Immediately he wants her but is not sure if she is with the guy with her.  He has to find out.

Emma sees Casey and all the old feelings are back from when she was a kid.  Of course with her reputation for sleeping around she understood why Casey never took interest in her.  Emma was too unsure of herself  and her family problems still remained.  This was the reason she was back, her father had a stroke and she was worried.

Casey took this time now to get to know Emma.  He wanted to know everything about her and what happened in her past, her family and where she went off too when she ran away.  But Emma is resisting being honest with him, of course she couldn’t resist Casey or his family.  On a side note Damon, Emma’s friend, which was more like a brother was finding his way in town as well with a certain woman, Ceily.

This was a fantastic finish to the series.  I loved how the family grew up, especially all of the nieces and nephews.  It was nice to see all of the brothers happy and now Casey.

Jordan by Lori Foster

The fourth book, “Jordan” of the Buckhorn Series keeps getting better and better.  The brothers and their wives are fantastic!  I love how Lori Foster creates those realistic characters and situations.

This book starts out with Jordan making his way out of the country to a barn that worked as a bar and had girls danced.  He meets Georgia Barnes there as she is on the stage dancing.  Jordan is blown away by her.  And the instant that one of the men gets out of hand Jordan goes in a rage.  He doesn’t want anyone to touch her.  Because of Jordan’s gallant behavior gets the bar into a riot and police are summoned, not to mention an angry brother.  Morgan gets there and is hot tempered but helps Jordan and Georgia.

Within that moment Georgia knew that she was going to be in trouble.  Jordan was too amazing looking and she had no time in her life to have someone like that.  With an ex-husband behind her, striving for money, two children, a on and off mother who is sick, and a job she hates there is no time.  Of course Jordan doesn’t care.  He wants to protect her and the children, even her mom.

I loved this book.  Jordan was a wonderful character to find him getting involved and finding love.  I liked a section when Morgan tells Jordan…”You should give up right now, and save yourself a pound of heartache.  Tell her what it is you want.  Be up front with her….You’re caught.  You might as well accept it.”  Morgan was telling Jordan just to find a way to be with Georgia.  He was destined for her.  I thought this statement was hilarious since it was coming from Morgan, he has turned into such a romantic.

As this was the last book for the brother, still have “Casey” to read which I am looking forward to, I was very happy with what happened.  I thought the plot was fantastic with her begin an exotic dancer.  Georgia’s character is very strong.  Another part that I loved was that Megan, the boys mother, came to visit and see her daughter in laws.  She is a fantastic character.  I also liked how at the end Casey is becoming mysteries with the girl Emma Clark.  I am confused and intrigued to find out what is going to happen.
