Tayla McKinnon has to make a decision. She needs to make a choice between her dream job and a relationship with Jeremy. With every date she finds herself falling for Jeremy but she is not a small town girl. Tayla loves the city and the cultural but doesn’t want to make those sacrifices her father had made.
Jeremy Allen has wanted Tayla the moment he saw her and will find out that he was going to lose her. He wanted to show her what their life could be together, but he knew that he could not force her decision. He wanted her to make the right decision for herself.
Hooked: A Love Story on 7th and Main is the second book from 7th and Main by Elizabeth Hunter. After reading the first book which I loved, I had pretty high expectations and this story did not disappoint. Although, I will say that I liked the first one more.
I thought that Tayla’s character was fun. She was outgoing and said what she wanted. Although, she was a little timid when it came to relationships. Throughout the story I was cheering for her and Jeremy to be together. Jeremy was pretty much the perfect man and you would think that would get annoying but it really didn’t. I really liked Jeremy and thought he was so sweet and loved that he was supportive, but on the inside the idea of Tayla leaving was tearing him apart.
The third book will be about Cary and Melissa which I can’t wait to read.
Mia Holland was done with her college graduation and with two of her friends they went to Las Vegas to celebrate. Mia was ready to let loose which meant a possible one night stand. Though Mia chose the wrong guy for a one night stand because Ansel Guillaume wanted more. If Mia was honest with herself she wanted more as well and she was going to take that chance with him in Paris.
Sweet Filthy Boy is the first book to the series Wild Seasons by Christina Lauren. I really liked this book. This was one that I sat down and just read, not taking any breaks to stop reading.
Mia’s character was a young woman who was contemplating life after graduation. She didn’t want to go to Boston, it wasn’t in her heart. I liked that she took a chance even though it was one heck of a chance. It is a brave person who just ups and leaves their home to another country. Now Ansel’s character was a Frenchman who wanted that romance and lust and he will get it with Mia. For me Ansel was a mystery at times. I sometimes felt he wasn’t really showing his true self but that was because he was so busy at work, and everything for them is very new. I liked that you did get to know him more.
The chemistry was explosive between these two. This book has a lot of sex and I mean a lot of sex. Being with Ansel seemed to bring out a playfulness to Mia especially in the bedroom. The chemistry doesn’t seem to be going anywhere even when a problem happens.
So I got all four books to the series since I saw that they were available to check out. I couldn’t resist. I am reading the second book next.
Kayla Green lived her job. She threw everything into her work especially over Christmas when visiting family was not possible. Kayla will get a new client and she will go over the holiday break to meet them. Kayla will be all business but that will be difficult with the O’Neil family.
Jackson O’Neil needed to find a way to help his family business. His solution was to hire Kayla Green who would find a way to promote their business. Jackson did not expect to feel something towards this woman but he knew that it should not be ignored.
Sleigh Bells in the Snow is the first book to the series O’Neil Brothers by Sarah Morgan. I liked this story. It definitely had that Christmas feeling which will warm your heart. Though I will say that it was a little cheesy with some of the things that were said, but I also wouldn’t have the book without those parts.
Kayla works all the time to help her forget about the lack of people in her life. I hated that Kayla didn’t have a family she could truly talk too like Jackson had. It will make you mad when you find out how her parents treat her. But I liked that she will get a chance at a family again but this time with Jackson. Though her character is too afraid to take that chance, at least in the beginning. So then there was Jackson. I liked his character. He was hard working and determined to make his family business thrive again. I also liked that he was kind which showed when he interacted with Kayla.
Luanne needed money fast after a disastrous boyfriend bled her dry of her funds. She found a way by dressing in a crazy outfit and creating a video blog called Legend of Jane. Her blog will get her doing crazy things and with one incident with cow tipping will lead her to a man that will like all of her.
Legend of Jane is part of the Bluebonnet series by Jessica Clare. It is another novella which is 2.5 in the series. The novella was cute. It wasn’t anything mind blowing or amazing but it was cute.
Luanne was wacky with the things that she was doing for her video blog, but her method was right. People want to see outrage and strange things online. I liked that she wasn’t exactly like that in her normal day. Jane was only her job. Then there is Hank who is the officer that doesn’t put one foot out of line. Now I thought that the romance was a little forced but again that happens in novellas.
There were three other stories which I did read. Though I went into this book just for Jessica Clare’s story.
Penny Shoemaker has been given many obstacles to last a lifetime. The first starting with her parents murder, her home taken away and an unexpected brother. She will find help from a group of woman and a determined man who will help put her life back.
Samuel Morrison is a second son who drifts through his life finding his purpose now that he is on his own. He will find that with Penny who is in need of help. He will be involved with a mystery of villains who want what they think they can obtain without consequences.
Wedded in Sin is the second book to Jade Lee’s Bridal Favors series. Penny Shoemaker intrigued me as a character as she held more and was not one to be messed with as she was tough and not to give up. I liked how resilient Penny was made to be but I also liked there was a softer side that was shown. Samuel was a character as he was a dreamer walking through life. It was interesting that he was the second son. Usually the hero is an established rogue or of high class like a Duke or an Earl, not usually a second son. I liked that he found a his purpose through helping Penny and it was a perfect solution. Once again I felt that the story drifted more towards the heroine but as I loved Penny’s character I was okay with that. Bridal Favors is a series I will look out for in the future.
