Raphael has decided it was time to bring the fight to the Europeans. He needed to send a message especially after the most recent attempt to harm his vampires and his Cyn. He will travel to Paris and bring the fight to Laurent who had taken over after Mathilda.
Relentless is a novella, number 11.5, of the series Vampires in America by D. B. Reynolds. I really loved this novella though maybe not as much as the others. The beginning certainly pulled me in with the shooting. There were several parts in the middle that were a little slow for me but the fight scenes were good. It is always amazing how much power Raphael truly has. What I loved was the interplay between Raphael and Cyn which is always something I love to read.
So part of the book was introducing Quinn who will be the next Lord of Ireland, which will be the next book that is coming out this year. I am interested in learning more about Quinn in his book. Though what intrigued me greatly was the woman he had followed at the end of the story. I am sensing that she will be like Buffy the vampire slayer, but time will tell.
I am reading Vampires in America: The Vignettes Vol 2 next.
Double the Pleasure is a collection of four stories by four different authors. My drive to read this book was because of Lori Foster’s novella Deuces Wild. This novella is part of the series Winston Brothers and Cousins. I loved this series especially the story that had Joe in it. I liked this novella. It was short but overall it was good. The story was about twin brothers and Hart had to leave but needed Dex to stay and pretend to be him. The problem happens when Dex’s meets and girl and she thinks that he is Hart, and Dex goes along with the lie. I felt that the girl forgave a little too easily but it had to be done quickly with the story being a novella. I liked the twin brothers. With reading Dex’s story I am intrigued with Hart and what was going on with the girl he had been with then left. It might be awhile before I find his story but I will be on the look out for it.
The other authors and their stories are The Lucy of the Irish by Deirdre Martin, which is about a carpenter who has the choice of going home to Ireland or sticking around in New York. With this one I wished that it was a book because then you would have gotten to really know the characters. You got to know them but it felt way to quick. The next book is Your Room or Mine? by Jacquie D’ Alessandro. This one is all about coworkers who judge each other to quickly but with a weekend to bond things will heat up. I liked the story. Once again I thought it was too short but it was enjoyable. The last book of the collection is Double the Danger by Penny McCall which is with an FBI agent and witness protection. Personally I wasn’t that into the book. I read it but it didn’t really thrill me.
Overall I will have to say that this collection was an enjoyable read.
Miss Sarah Clarke-Townsend was taking a walk with her very pregnant sister when several men started to follow them. Sarah heard that they were after her sister and there was no way she was going to let that happen. Sarah convinced the men that she was the Duchess that they were looking for. Now all she had to do was find a way out of their clutches which was looking to be very difficult.
Rob Carmichael was a disgrace to his family when he turned to become a Bow Street Runner. He was good at his job and that will come in handy when his good friends sister-in-law was taken. He will search for this woman and get her to safety but their adventure would not be over.
Sometimes A Rogue is the fifth book to the series Lost Lords by Mary Jo Putney. I liked this book, it was something cute to read and I went through it pretty fast.
The character Sarah was quiet and shy at times but in a time of crisis she became a different person. She was brave and determined to keep her sister safe no matter the cost. Rob was honorable even though he said he wasn’t. He was a smart man and got the job done, whatever his case may be. The two of them traveling through Ireland does spark something between them and a fire is lit that brings passion. Their kind of love were not their first as they had loved and lost before. I kind of liked that. They both shared that loss which made them realize how precious love could be.
Erin McKinnon is a long way from home. A native to Ireland Erin is wondered by all that is in America. She was skeptical working as a bookkeeper for Burke Logan but Erin needed to leave her home. She needed freedom and a way to make something of herself. But Erin wasn’t expecting to fall for her employer.
Burke Logan knows what he wants and goes for it. Hiring Erin, marrying Erin and taking her all seemed right. But Burke doesn’t trust Erin as he should. He doesn’t know if she is there for his money or not. Burke will find out what Erin wants when he opens his own heart.
Irish Rose is the second book from Nora Roberts series Irish Hearts. As sequels go this one was a sweet yet frustrating book to read. Roberts continues with Dee and Travis but she focuses on Dee’s cousin Erin. Erin is another fiery Irish and Burke is a gambler. Both are hot heads and impatient so the scenes were intense with arguing which kept you wanting to turn the pages.
The villain is clear and the reader will be interested in to see what will happen as the heroes are faced in a crisis.
Irish Rose is a fantastic sequel and second book to the series.
I have read Irish Thoroughbred before but I find that because it is just a great story I like re-reading it over and over. I have a handful of authors which I will re-read their books and Nora Roberts is in the group. Picking up the book again I settled in for Dee and Travis’s story.
Adelia “Dee” Cunnane is a humble girl from Ireland never dreaming of going to America to be with her Uncle Paddy. But she will have a new life and one that involves her passion, horses. Fiery Dee will though have her own problem to deal with when she meets the owner of the ranch, Travis Grant.
Travis Grant is the owner of Royal Meadows and has worked hard on to make it the best. The moment he meets Dee he is intrigued and wants to know more about her. Travis will have that chance as Dee will become a groom to the horses and a thorn in his side with her Irish temperament.
This story to me is just a fantastic love story and I secretly love that the main heroine is Irish. Ireland has fascinated me over the years and I love how Roberts creates Dee to be a fiery woman you would not want to mess with. Travis was a man you wanted to know, someone strong and did what he needed to do.
Irish Thoroughbred is a great start to to Irish Hearts series.
Looking at the back of the cover I read the summary and for a moment I was confused. I didn’t remember Liam being talked about but soon I found he was another one of the cousins but with a higher rank. Enchanted is the fourth and final book by Nora Roberts in The Donovan Legacy series.
Liam Donovan is a witch and has the ability to hear thoughts and change into an animal shape. His shape he prefers is wolf which will let him get closer to his new neighbor Rowan Murray. Rowan is a woman who ran away and is looking for who she is.
The fourth book was fun to read. Enchanted had me cheering for the two character to finally be with each other.
I liked that Liam’s parents and the rest of the cousins made an appearance in the book. Throughout the whole book I wondered what was the secret that Liam had to tell Rowan. If it was being a witch that is said but there is something else.
Roberts will have you curious and need to finish the book to find out what Liam has been hiding. The secret will we a blessing and make the ending that much sweeter.
The Donovan Legacy series was fun to read with the modern day witches with these four cousins.
The third book to the series The Donovan Legacy was Charmed. The guarded Ana will now have a challenge in her new neighbor.
Ana Donovan is no stranger to heart break. She told the truth of who she was and was rejected. From then on she only wants to be alone but then Boone Sawyer comes into her life and she knows he could get through to her. Boone is a writer of fairy tales but does not believe in magic. The two go with their attraction but it is tested when Boone learns the truth about Ana.
Ana’s story was enchanting to read. I love that she works with herbs to make potions to heal those around her. From the beginning I wondered what her power was going to be and it only made sense that she had the power to heal with her hands but there is a consequence since she takes that sickness into her.
The epilogue is perfect as Roberts wraps up the new families of the Donovan Legacy but the series is not over there is Liam which has not been talked about in detail so he will be a mystery.
