Clay Price has everything he could ever want but what kept him up at nights was the girl who betrayed him seven years ago. He made a plan to get Natalie Weston back and finally into his bed.
Natalie Weston has stopped living her life seven years ago when the love of her life walked away from her. Now he is back and Natalie will be shocked by what he is proposing.
Dirty Scoundrel is the second book to Jessica Clare’s series Roughneck Billionaires. I wondered about this story after I had read the summary. I did not want to read about Clay tricking Natalie into something that would end up hurting both of them. Luckily that was not the case, it started out like that but it turned into more when you got to know Clay’s character. I really enjoyed this story. Clay, like his brother Boone, is crude but there really is a sensitive side to him which comes out when he is around Natalie. She is the only girl he has ever loved. Natalie’s character is a woman who has been working herself to the bone and she keeps giving more. I liked that Natalie did not fall at Clay’s feet when he came back into her life with his ridicules contract.
The father was frustrating. He was a big deal back in Hollywood but now with his dementia he would forget many things and then go back into the past. It wasn’t like he was using his daughter but he did manipulate when he was having a good day. The father got what he wanted in the end which was good for Natalie as he was taken care of in the end.
Olivia lived her business and she was taking the next step with opening up a new shop. All that stood in her way was Tony, the owner of the hotel. She will thrilled when he grants her new shop but will be taken back when he proposes a completely different contract.
Scandalized! is a novel by Lori Foster. It is a standalone novel and another fun novel to read. As I was reading the book I knew that it could go several ways and with each scenario there was going to be heartbreak but you knew in the end there would be happiness. Well I was right in one of the situations that I had guessed and even though I predicted the story I enjoyed the book.
I think what got me was that Tony was a surprise. He was a complete family man and he loved his nieces and nephews. Though he was a little confusing with his need not to marry the woman. Although he will be thinking differently as he spends time with Olivia. Olivia’s character surprised me as well. Her background story was so sad and it really shaped her to the person she had become. I wanted Olivia to be happy but she will do something that will only create a problem between her and Tony. I liked how Foster handled the secret and the outcome of the situation between Tony and Olivia.
Ryder Montgomery is the carpenter of the family and is helping restore the Inn with his own hands. He will be frustrated with Hope from the moment she gets the job. A relationship will start to define after a New Years Eve kiss. He will want more from Hope but will not know how to handle it or her.
Hope Beaumont never thought this Bed and Breakfast would keep her happy when she had lived in D.C. and worked as a manager to a very glitzy hotel but she was. Her happiness steamed from her friends and having a purpose. All she had to deal with was Ryder who she couldn’t get along with, that is until they kiss and things changed.
The Perfect Hope is the third and final book from Inn Boonsboro Trilogy. I liked this book. Now did I like this one better than the other two, I would have to say no as I thought they were all equal. Each brother was a little different in attitude but even with that difference you knew they were clearly brothers and that was what I liked about the books. Ryder I will have to say was one brother who liked to brood and be sarcastic and was good at that. He is kind though as it could be seen by the way he treats his family and his dog. Also he was a man who wanted a certain justice to happen when something bad happened. He used his fist to help deal with some issues. Now Hope was not perfect as she made a mistake which will cause problems with her new life. Although with her friends and Ryder by her side she weathers the problem.
The ghost definitely is played up in the last book which makes sense as the series is coming to an end. Eliza is communicating more and more as she longs for her love, Billy, and a lot of this communication is with Hope as they are family. The group had to find out who this Billy was which was next to impossible. With hints from Eliza and Hope putting the pieces together they will find out his last name shocking everyone when the truth comes out. There were moments with the ghost, towards the end, was getting a little sappy but it was a reunion that was long overdue.
You can tell that Roberts wrapped up the series as each brother have now found the woman they belong with and the ghosts now had peace. I will probably be taking a break from Nora Roberts but I will be back for more.
Poppy Hathaway was in love with one man but thanks to another that love would never blossom into marriage. She will not be forced into the decision of marriage to this villain but knows that it needs to happen as she has been compromised. Poppy hoped to make it work but the more she found out how she was manipulated she was hurt. She will have to forgive her husband in order to survive her marriage.
Harry Rutledge was a wealthy owner of a hotel but he would not be considered a hero. He knew secrets and used them to get what he wanted. He wanted Poppy the moment he saw her and was not put off by ruining her slim chances with the man she loved.
Tempt Me At Twilight is the third book from Lisa Kleypas series Hathaways. With the first and second book behind me I was looking forward to Poppy’s story as I am liking the series more and more with each book.
Poppy was young and in love but she still had a head on her shoulders. She will do what she had to, to deal with and try to find the best in her husband. Kleypas keeps them distant as she was in love with Michael but if it was a perfect love then Michael would have fought harder. Now Harry was to be considered the villain of the book without a doubt as he used secrets to get what he wanted. He did that with Poppy and Michael’s relationship because he wanted her, but as you find out more about him you soften towards him. He was a hero but in the shadows. With Poppy’s help he becomes more of the man he was meant to be but there was of course the ruthless side that would never go away.
I will be reading the fourth book next and I am excited to find out what will happen between Leo and Cat.
Ash McIntyre had felt in a funk as his best friends have found women that completed them. Ash will be finding a new interest in Josie who promotes a new sense of lust that he hadn’t felt in a long time.
Josie was just drawing in the park when she will meet a man that will question everything that she thought she wanted. She will take a chance and find a new life style that compels her to become more with Ash.
Burn is the third book from the Breathless series from Maya Banks. The third installment was another very steamy, very illicit sex with the two main characters Ash and Josie.
It was interesting that Josie was already in a similar relationship that Ash was suggesting except that what she had with Michael was false. I liked that Josie found herself with Ash but it was not easy especially when Ash wasn’t being exactly truthful with a few things, nothing too bad. Ash you find a different side to in the book. He is still very charming and laid back but there is an intensity that hadn’t been there in the previous books.
There will be a villain in the book that will come back from the first book and want revenge on these men and their women. Josie will take the fall as she will be severally beaten by the person. Now these books have never been with a context that is easy as emotions run high with these powerful men but Banks will show how dysfunctional Ash’s family really is especially his mother.
With the Breathless series done I will have to find a new series to read from Maya Banks or a novel.
Gabe Hamilton had been burned by love and will not have his personal life displayed in the press. Now he makes sure that the women he sees know exactly what they are getting into with a contract. Gabe will use the same contract on Mia who he has fantasied over the last several years.
Mia Crestwell has wanted Gabe since she was sixteen years old but with fourteen years between them she was always seen as Jace’s little sister. Mia will take the step she needs to do and agree to the contract. She will bend towards Gabe’s will and walk down the forbidden path with him.
Rush is the first book to the Breathless series from Maya Banks. I have seen the books around but I was waiting until the third book was available to start reading the series. I have all three now in my possession so I figured I would give the series a try. Now going into the series I knew there would be a lot of sex because Banks books tend to follow down that route, and I was right. Rush was filled with desire, sex, rough sex and some bondage so I would definitely categorize this erotic romance.
I really liked the book and found myself not wanting to put it down. The character of Mia was naive but very sweet and had desires like any normal woman. It was just that she didn’t know what she was stepping into with Gabe. I liked that she agreed to the contract but that she also was strong enough when it needed to be over. Now the character of Gabe grabbed me. He was so different from other characters I have read and I was drawn to him. He has his flaws and obvious kinks in the bedroom. I loved that he matched well with Mia. I thought it was creative with the contract but knew that it was going to be a problem down the road. There are several other little obstacles and one of them comes down to assault but I am happy to see that the person got a beating. There was a point which I didn’t think they would get their happy ending but a happy ending will take place for this couple.
Suzanne Jefferson is running out of her alimony and she needs to get back to work. Wedding planning wasn’t her favorite job but if done right she could make money. The only problem was in this particular wedding her ex-husband was a groomsman and he wasn’t her ex she soon found out.
Ryder Jefferson never wanted to divorce from his wife but they couldn’t seem to not stop the fighting but Ryder will find out that it wasn’t final. He was going to take this second chance and show Suzanne that they can make it work.
Hot Finish is Erin McCarthy’s third book to the series Fast Track. After loving the first two I was ready for the ride of Suzanne and Ryder’s chaos and soon to be reunited love. Okay so first it was okay. There was certainly sex involved as McCarthy has that down but I wasn’t overly found of the couple in their book. I liked them before and still liked them but I wasn’t pulled into the book as the first two book.s It might be Suzanne’s over sarcastic side and Ryder’s laid back/non confrontation attitude he has. Of course at the end the characters have me smiling that they finally got it right and some of the barriers have been broken down.
I am still going on with the series as I always do. I am looking forward to finding out more on Evan and the rest of the race car drivers.
