Gabriel had wanted Isabella the moment he saw her but he did not take her because she was in a relationship. With her free Gabe will do what he can to entice Isabella to him.
Isabella had to get out of her relationship and she was able to but she soon found that she had no where to go. Isabella will be rescued by Gabe, the only man that had her feeling more. She wanted to take a chance with Gabe but she had to fix herself first.
Dare to Surrender is the first book to the NY Dare to Love series by Carly Phillips. I had finished the other series, well I finished all the books that were available to read, and decided I wanted more. So after reading several other books I am back with the author and I will have to say that this was really good. I think that this series will be more steamy than the other, although the others were very steamy. My thinking is because of the titles, Dare to Surrender, Dare to Submit, and Dare to Seduce. Well after reading this book I would say that the books will more than likely go into the route of dominant and submissive. I will be okay with that but I really don’t want to read about the characters really hurting each other because they feel pleasure in that.
Well like I said above this verges on the dom and sub but it wasn’t that bad. Gabe’s character liked control and it seemed that Isabella like to be submissive even if she didn’t really know it. What I liked about the book was Gabe did not force anything on Isabella. He made it all her decision, well he will be persuasive but ultimately it is her decision. Isabella’s character had lost herself in her previous relationship. I liked that she finds herself again which made her more confident. She gets her job back and little by little she is the person she had been before.
Poppy Hathaway was in love with one man but thanks to another that love would never blossom into marriage. She will not be forced into the decision of marriage to this villain but knows that it needs to happen as she has been compromised. Poppy hoped to make it work but the more she found out how she was manipulated she was hurt. She will have to forgive her husband in order to survive her marriage.
Harry Rutledge was a wealthy owner of a hotel but he would not be considered a hero. He knew secrets and used them to get what he wanted. He wanted Poppy the moment he saw her and was not put off by ruining her slim chances with the man she loved.
Tempt Me At Twilight is the third book from Lisa Kleypas series Hathaways. With the first and second book behind me I was looking forward to Poppy’s story as I am liking the series more and more with each book.
Poppy was young and in love but she still had a head on her shoulders. She will do what she had to, to deal with and try to find the best in her husband. Kleypas keeps them distant as she was in love with Michael but if it was a perfect love then Michael would have fought harder. Now Harry was to be considered the villain of the book without a doubt as he used secrets to get what he wanted. He did that with Poppy and Michael’s relationship because he wanted her, but as you find out more about him you soften towards him. He was a hero but in the shadows. With Poppy’s help he becomes more of the man he was meant to be but there was of course the ruthless side that would never go away.
I will be reading the fourth book next and I am excited to find out what will happen between Leo and Cat.
As I was browsing throught the aisles of books it got me thinking that it has been a while since I picked up Jayne Ann Krentz. I love her style and the simple to complex characters which are developed. I have read many of her books but I wanted to start and revisit them.
Cleopatra Robbins has imagined the moment when she’ll meet the man of her dreams. But when Max Fortune strides into the Robbins’ Nest Inn, a devastating sensation sweeps through her. She knows it’s him. And he’s all wrong!
Head of the giant Curzon Hotel chain, a cynical man with a passion for rare works of art, Max is looking for five priceless paintings left to him by his mentor, Jason Cruzon. With one long look at Cleo Robbins, Max knows he’s gazing at a masterpiece…and for the first time in his life, the solitary and powerful executive is overcome with the strangest desire for that wonderful institution called home. But despite their mutual attraction, Max suspects Cleo of hiding something-and by the time he realizes her secrets have nothing to do with the lost treasures, it may be too late to save her from the danger rising out of her past.
Krentz delivers a sense of passion in each book that she writes but what draws me to all her books are the characters. In some way or the other they are real. They have a sense of being real and not just fiction. Within Grand Passion you could relate to the characters problems they were facing which is a powerful abiltiy to do with books.
The plot is a cute romance. A man looking for his inhertience but finds much more. The characters of the book are delightful. They are a little wacky and quirky but all together real and lovable. They are the type of characters you would imagine working in a small inn.
There are secrets and sabotage moving throughout the book which gives a little mystery to keep you reading.
Grand Passion is a fun book to read, just to loose yourself in for a few hours.
