Big Sky Wedding

Big Sky WeddingBrylee Parrish had been left at the alter by a man she thought she loved. She had gotten over it but it felt as if she was just waiting for something to happen. Then she meets her new neighbor Zane and her heart starts beating a little faster.

Zane Sutton is taking a break from the Hollywood scene and back to his rodeo roots. He will be jaded when it comes to women but Zane will be changing his tune when he meets his neighbor Brylee. He will have to convince her that he will not be going back to Hollywood and was here to stay.

Big Sky Wedding is the fifth book to Linda Lael Miller’s series Parable, Montana. Now I did like the previous book with Casey and Walker but I would have to say that Brylee and Zane’s story was better. I was able to be drawn into the story more with these two characters. They were both broken or had their trust misguided at one point and were learning with each other. I guess I am a sucker for these types of characters.

Brylee was still bitter but not because of Hutch it was because she hadn’t found someone she wanted to be with. I liked Zane who was more down to earth actor which was because of how he was brought up. He had it tough but survived. They were both survivors which made them perfect for each other.

I am waiting for the next book Big Sky Secrets to be available to checkout which is with Landry and Ria.

The Duchess War

The Duchess WarMiss Minerva Lane has been hiding for twelve years hoping that she would be overlooked and her past stay hidden. Minnie though was screaming on the inside to be the woman she truly wanted to be. She will find herself through the eyes of an unexpected new alley the Duke of Clermont.

Duke of Clermont, Robert Blaisdell never wants to be like his father. He tries hard to keep away from everything his father would have done. It gets hard though when he finds lust for Minnie who isn’t of his class. He doesn’t want to be like his father to seduce and discard. Robert will have a whole different agenda once he understands his heart.

I have read the novella, The Governess Affair, for the prequel of the series. The Duchess War is the first book to Courtney Milan’s series The Brothers Sinister. At first it was a little slow for me. I suppose since I read the novella it was more fast pace but it had to be as there were less pages. Once you get into the story it zooms by with the intriguing characters who seem to be at war with themselves.

Roberts drive to not be his father was steady throughout the book. He kept repeating it over and over so he will never fall into his fathers footsteps. I liked that he helped out in his own way with the pamphlets. I was happy to read that Oliver was there as well in the story, I can’t wait to read his story. The brothers are a unlikely pair but they care for each other. I felt bad for Robert who only ever wanted a family like Oliver. I wanted him to find that happiness as he is a very good man. Robert never finds that until Minnie shows up.

Now Minnie’s character I found was unlike one I have read before. Her past is colorful of scandal but not because she was seduced or compromised. I thought Milan does a good job at giving her past a uniqueness to it. I found that I hated her father for what he had done as he took no responsibility for ruining his daughter. It was also heartbreaking to find out why she is afraid of crowds and what happened due to her fathers betrayal. I liked that she was able to not shy away especially from Robert. She was able to become the woman she was supposed to be.

I found that this was not an easy book where the characters found love at a drop of a hat. It was a struggle as there were many obstacles in their way, mainly themselves. I am definitely curious to find out what will happen in the next book and also in the novella where Lydia is the main character as she is someone I want to know more especially with the little parts that were written about her.

The Taming of the Wolf by Lydia Dare

So far this is the last book of these lycan brothers and relations. Dash and Cait are the final characters for now in The Taming of the Wolf by Lydia Dare.

Caitrin Macleod is a seer of her coven. She knows what will happen for all those around her but she can’t see for herself. Then one night she interacts with a stranger who bites her neck and everything changes. Dashiel Thorpe “Dash” couldn’t help himself when he smelled her so he bite her. He didn’t know by doing that he would claim her. The two would find out that nothing can be changed so might as well go along with this destiny. But it is never that easy for these two stubborn natured people.

Dare created these characters well. I love the playfulness of the characters with their short tempers and full blown passion. It was humorous to read how Dash got stuck with Cait but he was anything but sorry. I also liked how Cait did need Dash since he helped her with the pain of seeing futures for those around her.

The Taming of the Wolf was fantastic to read. It went by in a flash and you will be laughing at the Scottish temperament.

I wonder now that all the brothers of Westfield are matched and Dash is matched who will Dare go after now. Will she create another story with the witch coven or Dash’s brothers. Or maybe fast forward in time for when Oliver will take a mate. Hopefully Lydia Dare will keep us entertained with these Lycan’s.

Danger in a Red Dress by Christina Dodd

Dodd’s fourth and final book for the Fortune Hunters series.

Down on her luck and desperate for work, beautiful Hannah Grey finds herself in a mansion on the wild Maine coast, caring for a longely elderly woman.  On her deathbed she entrusts Hannah with a dangerous secret.  Now Hannah’s on the run, pursued by killers, and she desperately needs the one man who can keep her alive.

Gabriel Prescott has hunted for a home his entire life.  Now he’s on the verge of finding his long-lost family.  Only one person dares to stand in his way-Hannah Grey.  Yet the delicate, determined woman who threatens his search for truth may be the only woman who can save him.

This was an incredible ending for the series Fortune Hunters.  Dodd brings the book to a happy ending.

Gabriel finally comes into play with his own book.  He is there to find the last of his brothers only to be thrown from a woman from his dreams.  He knows that she is the enemy but he can’t help but want her.  But is his brother the right man, the better man.  Is he as good as his other half brothers.

Hannah is a fantastic character.  I like that she is strong and will help her patients even it means going through multiple obstacles.  She is a nurse and wants to help but ends up having a problem and has to run away from  the law.  And Gabriel.

The ending of the book is heartwarming as all the half brothers end up coming over.  But Hannah does not make it easy on Gabriel, which I love.  He lied to her from the start and she doesn’t forget that.  She is a strong character and won’t cower in fear.

Christina Dodd finishes the series and it was fun, enjoyable, enticing and exciting to read.

Tongue in Chic by Christina Dodd

Christina Dodd brings her second novel of the series Fortune Hunters.

How can one little lie land Meadow Szaras in such trouble?  Sure, Devlin Fitzwilliam catches her breaking into his mansion to steal a priceless painting.  And, yes, in sheer desperation she tells him she has amnesia.  But then he claims she’s his wife.  As Devlin’s own treacherous agenda comes to light, Meadow finds herself locked in a match of high-stakes deception.  She doesn’t dare take her eyes off him, and doesn’t want to; yet the danger is just beginning.  For a third player has entered the game, and is trying to kill them both…

The second book was fun to read.  I loved Devlin’s character and Meadow was amazing in her own way.  They were interesting people that started out this unbelievable relationship in a lie and of course all lies come to an end.

The first book though I think I liked a little better but nonetheless it was enjoyable.  The next half brother got his appearence, Devlin.   Little by little you find the half brothers from a man who left them all behind.

Christina Dodd ends her second novel of Fortune Hunters with a new future for Devlin and Meadow.

Trouble in High Heels by Christina Dodd

When Brandi Michaels discovers her fiance hopping a flight to Vegas to marry his girlfriend, she pawns her engagement ring, buys herself a fabulous outfit, and spends on sultry night in the arms of a gorgeous Italian stranger named Roberto Bartolini.  When Brandi becomes the mark for a killer, she has no choice but to turn to Roberto-a man who’s destined to be either her savior or her downfall.  But one thing’s for sure:  She’s not going down without a fight…

Christina Dodd is really a fantastic storyteller.  I fell in love witht the series Stepp Sisters and now I decided to try the Fortune Hunters.  I was not disappointed.  The first book of the series brings imaginative characters and an interesting plot.

Brandi is a fun character created with her timidness but ultimate strenght which she proves.  Then Roberto with his accent and savy ways.  But he is not all that they think he is and Brandi will be the one who will find out.

I thought it was interesting with the detail of how Roberto does not know his father and he wants nothing more to know who he is.  And as I look ahead to the next books this will be a factor for many of the men.

Christina Dodd starts the Fortune Hunters series with a bang.
