Bound by Blood

Bound by BloodKaitlyn Sherrad was out on her own from the protective shield of her parents. She wants to experience life all the while searching for her uncle that had disappeared right before she was born. Kaitlyn will be distracted when she meets Zach Ravenscroft who was a casino owner. There will be an instant attraction that will consume the couple but there will also be a danger that lurks in Kaitlyn’s shadow.

Bound by Blood is the second and final book to the series Bound by Amanda Ashley. I thought this was a good book to read. I liked that Amanda Ashley wrote about Elena and Drake’s daughter who was a little different. Kaitlyn’s character was a half breed which was half human and half vampire. I liked that she was different than the average vampire as it gave the story something more than just a vampire book. I liked Kaitlyn. She was strong willed, a little spoiled but was a good woman. Zach might be a player but he certainly didn’t act like it especially when he saw Kaitlyn. Now Zach is a vampire but he is also a little different type of vampire. His kind is called the Others. He is able to make a vampire. For Drake’s kind the vampires are born.

There was without a doubt a villain which was one of the wives of Drake’s father. She wanted revenge and was after Kaitlyn to get that revenge.

Towards the end there will be a surprise that involved Kaitlyn’s family. The situation would have been very sad if the tragedy occurred, but Amanda Ashley made sure that a happy ending happened.

Werewolf in Seattle

Werewolf in SeattleLuna Reynaud was out of place most of her life as she was a half human half werewolf. Now she has found a place she belongs but with the unexpected death of her employer Luna hopes her future will not be in ruins when the new heir comes to the island.

Colin MacDowell had not visited his aunt in years and was astonished he was left the property. Knowing that he had no use of it his first thought was to sell. Meeting the staff and especially Luna he was rethinking everything.

I had grabbed the first two books to Vicki Lewis Thompson to refresh my memory of the series Wild About You. The nice thing is you can read these stories out of order as you will still hear about what had happened in the previous book.

Werewolf in Seattle is the third book to Thompson’s series Wild About You. True to the other two books Thompson writes these stories with humor and some quick wit with these characters. Its really the side characters who are probably the ones with the most humor among them but Luna and Colin will take part of that humor with the playful banter. You are pulled into this supernatural world easily as the story is kept fun and light with the exception of Luna’s troubling past and secret she holds.

The past from Luna or really her parents past was an interesting side story that develops Luna into who she is. I also liked the introduction of Duncan, Colin’s brother, who will be involved in the next book. He seems a little flighty so it will be interesting to see if he changes.

One Whisper Away by Emma Wildes

Lady Cecily Francis knew who would be her husband the point that she did not want him meant nothing to those around her. She knew full well that she could not marry him as her sister was in love with him but then a solution came in the form of Earl of Augustine or the Earl Savage.

The Earl of Augustine, Jonathon, was a half breed born on the right side of the blanket. His father Earl of Augustine loved his mother. Jonathon earned his title by his fathers death. He had a daughter out of wedlock and loved her. He was a half breed and despised London and their formality until he came upon Lady Cecily. He knew he shouldn’t toy with her but he couldn’t help himself.

I love the fact that Emma Wildes creates her plot all because of a sensual act and one whisper. One Whisper Away captures your attention right from the first page.

You fall in love with the main characters and their families who will all become tangled into the plot which Cecily and Jonathon have gotten themselves into.

One Whisper Away is the first book of the series Ladies in Waiting. Lily will find herself the center of attention as she will be in the following book. Find out who Lily will give her heart too but the question is did she already meet this man in the first book?

Be Still My Vampire Heart by Kerrelyn Sparks

The third book, Be Still My Vampire Heart, of the series Love At Stake was fantastic.  Sparks brings Angus MacKay and Emma Wallace to the for front of the story as they will battle about who really is the evil vampire.

The Plot of Be Still My Vampire Heart:

If it was still beating, Angus MacKay has been undead for almost five hundred years  and it’s not often something, or someone, surprises him.  Until Emma Wallace.  The sight of this luscious agent from the CIA’s elite Stake-Out team was enough to stop Angus in his tracks.  But then he discovers that she’s a vampire slayer, intent on killing the “monsters” who killed her parents.  And it’s Angus job to stop her.

The only good vampire is a dead vampire.  It’s been Emma’s motto since she committed her life to the destruction of these things.  Now Angus MacKay wants to convince her differently.  Sure, he’s sexy Highland warrior who seems to have stepped off the cover of a romance novel, complete with brogue, kilt, and sword, but he’s also one of them.  And it’s her job to kill him.

The war is on, but will it end in the destruction of one or both of them…or in total surrender to a passion for the ages?”

The first book amazed me, the second was thrilling and now the third I am astonished that I am reading this book so fast.  Sparks has made me a fan in her series Love At Stake.  The third book, Be Still My Vampire Heart, was wonderful to read.  I loved Angus and Emma.  They were great characters to end up falling in love with each other.  Emma is a strong woman going for revenge and ultimately Angus will help her get that revenge but he will also make her see that they are not all bad.

The bad vampires of course are the Malcontents.  We now see some of them and the story of them are starting to unravel little by little.  Of course the story is really about Angus and Emma but there are side stories going on.

I liked the fact that all the characters interact, new and old.  Keeps you from forgeting who is part of the series.  I like that Shanna and Roman did end up having thier baby and Sean came to see even though he is worried.  The baby doesn’t have fangs so he is a normal baby but is he really.  Constantine is going to surprise a few people.  And Emma who will not be the same Emma anymore which will be better for her and Angus.
