Jonathan Lyons loved the adventure of finding a new site and discovering new items that had been lost but his life was never fully satisfying without the woman he loved. Jonathan lost the woman he loved ten years ago but now that she was back in his life he would not let go.
Violet DeWitt was closed off and comfortable in her job as a school teacher. She had wanted nothing to do with Jonathan or the wild goose chase her father would be sending them on, but as she was forced to go Violet went. She was fearful that she would fall right back into love with Jonathan, and with everyday they spent together she was in danger of loving him all over again.
Romancing the Billionaire is the fifth book to the series Billionaire Boys Club by Jessica Clare. I thought this was a great book and a good addiction to the series.
The character of Violet was hardened and closed off because of her past relationship. I wanted to shake Violet to let go a little and trust but the problem when she did that she was always hurt in the end. It takes an effort on Jonathan’s side to show her that she could trust again. Though I will say that it takes Jonathan some time to figure out what he truly needed to do in order to win back Violet. So Jonathan’s character was no villain and was a good man but he liked adventure. Though that life for Jonathan was lonely. I had wondered why Jonathan never even looked up Violet even under the circumstances he was told. I liked that the characters will be back together after ten years as it gave them time to grow up but those ten years left them lonely and disappointed in relationships.
Alright so the ending was yes very predictable because, hey, this is a romance novel, and I know with these types of books I will get that happy ending. But what I loved about the ending was that it was very sweet with the last clue. It gave closure, which I knew it would, and it explained everything. It was what Violet needed at the end.
Well I am moving on to the last book of the series with Cade as the last man. I am interested how Daphne will be. Will she be changed for the better or still self destructive? Once Night with a Billionaire is next.
Duchess of Girton “Gina” is in love with her fiance but has to wait for her husband to now annul their marriage. She will be shocked to find herself starting to lust after her husband who has come back to give her the annulment.
Duke of Girton “Camden” comes back to England to find the wife he left behind had blossom into a new woman. He will not like the new suitor but knows marriage would not suit him, at least a real marriage but Cam will be thinking twice about that when he is starting to feel things for his wife.
Duchess in Love is the first book of the Duchess Quartet series by Eloisa James. She is new to me so I wasn’t sure what to expect. I liked the concept of the story when I was checking it out but frankly it left me wanting more. I think what made me not as excited with reading the book is how immature the characters of the females were. I get that they would be immature at twenty one but it was played up a little too much with the characters especially with Gina. I get that with the women they should feel free to enjoy life as their estranged husbands but it just seemed annoying at times especially with how they acted. There were also four different stories being told throughout the book and as each character had their own identity it felt sometimes too much going on. Eventually I did finish the book and found myself liking it more as it was close to the end. I think it was because you did get to know the characters more and understood why they acted as such. I know that I will want to find out more on the series to see if it is like the first book of the series, but at a later time.
The eighth book of Kerrelyn Sparks is the latest of the series Love At Stake.
The Plot of Vampire and the Virgin:
“FBI psychologist Olivia Sotris was looking for a cool ocean breeze, sand between her toes, and a break from her crazy, chaotic, and sometimes all-too-dangerous life. But when she escaped to the small Greek island of Patmos, all she got were medding grandmothers trying to marry her off. Can’t they see that none of the men around her interests her-except Robby MacKay?
Robby needs to cool off, too, since all he can think about it revenge on the Malcontent bloodsuckers who once held him captive-but then he meets Olivia, the beauty with wild curls and a tempting smile. When a deadly criminal from a case back home tracks her down, Robby will have to save her life-along with giving her a first time she’ll never forget…”
The latest edition is a hit. I love reading about Robby. Sparks gives humor to her characters and a sense that they belong together. The characters are dynamic and the plot is fantastic. Now all I am wondering about is her next book. When will it be out and who will it be about?
For those who have read the books they know the character Connor and for me I can’t wait for him to find his true love.
Glancing at the books I found the book Impulse by Nora Roberts and on a whim I took the book. It is a very short book which is something that seemed perfect for right now.
“For once in her life, Rebecca Malone decided to follow her impulses, jettison the familiar and head to Greece to find adventure! So when a sexy stranger began to romance her, she couldn’t resist playing the sophisticated, well-traveled woman. However, falling in love with Stephen Nickodemus was not part of the plan! How on earth could she explain to the man she’d given her heart to that she wasn’t the woman he’d believed her to be? And then convince him that she was still the woman he loved…”
Since the book was only about hundred pages I zipped right through. Impulse was a quick pace romance with a little adventure mixed in for the character, Rebecca Malone. It was a very heartwarming story. I loved how she found what was missing in her life and went to find something. That something was of course love and finding herself. The story makes you believe love does conqueror if you try and find it.
