Scarlet

ScarletI am continuing with Scarlet which is the second book to Lunar Chronicles series by Marissa Meyer. This book was fun to read. This strange world that Meyer’s has written is interesting and it will hold your attention.

So this story is continuing with Cinder’s quest to find out what happened to her in her past. She is teamed up with another inmate, Thorne. Though Cinder’s story is not the only one being told. There is also Scarlet whose grandmother had been kidnapped by a group of men. Scarlet will team up with a man called Wolf.

I liked reading about Scarlet, who is being portrayed as Little Red Riding Hood, and her quest to find her grandmother but I found that I missed reading more about Cinder. Especially with the new information that is discovered about Cinder. Though Scarlet was a good addition to the series. She is fiery and a determined woman. I also liked Wolf as well even though he isn’t exactly a hero.

It is interesting how these characters are connected, and they are all connected to the missing Princess Selena. Well she is not really missing any longer. I hope that Cinder in the next book will be taking some action against the Queen but it still might be too early for that in the series.

I am reading Cress next.

Cordina’s Royal Family by Nora Roberts

This is the collection of the first three books about the Royal Family of Cordina. I took the chance on these three stories after I picked up the fourth and final book. I liked the fourth okay, but I went to look at these three.  It was fantastic.  Within this series Nora Roberts creates this whimsical, adventures, enduring, romantic characters and plot. Makes you sigh and jump for joy as love conquers all for those royal siblings.

Affaire Royale

Recently kidnapped Princess Gabriella has amnesia, but in the arms of bodyguard Reeve MacGee she finds a passion that’s unforgettable.

Since I read the last book first I found out about their daughter before I read about the parents. I loved this story as the beginning. It was cute, entertaining, and enduring. I loved seeing how Camille’s parents met. The Royal family is a delight.

Command Performance

Though His Royal Highness Alexander is destined to rule Cordina, it’s regal-and elusive-Eve Hamilton who rules his heart.

The second was so sweet and romantic. Both wanted each other but never went for it. Then fate gives them their chance only to have it more obstacles put in the way but not forever. It was funny, completely romantic story between them.

The Playboy Prince

Why is reserved Hannah Rothchild so intriguing to dedicated ladies man Prince Bennett? Is it her secret mission-or the fascinating lady herself?

The last story was lovely. I loved how reserved Hannah was and able to get the playboy Prince on his bend and knee for her. You knew there would be a happy ending but there were some bumps in the road.

The series of Cordina’s Royal Family was a delight to read.

The Final Chapter of the MacKade Brothers

The first three books of the series MacKade Brothers were fantastic.  The last book, The Fall of Shane MacKade by Nora Roberts was finishing up with the youngest brother.  The brother that had told many he didn’t want to marry.  Also one that is not telling all, he holds a secret.  But this secret is shared with one woman, Rebecca Knight.

“The youngest MacKade, Shane, was a man of the land, so the last woman he expected to catch his eye was a Ph.D. toting academic.  But Rebecca Knight had caught much more than that.  One beautiful lady didn’t mean the fall of Shane MacKade from bachlorhood was a sure thing.  But it was definitely a possibility…”

The story had all the of the MacKade’s along with the spouses and new children.  Shane was the last brother who has not found love.  He has been having a fantastic time with many other women.  That is until Rebecca Knight makes an appearance in his life.  From the moment he saw her at the airport he was baffled.

Rebecca Knight was a bright woman who never had a normal life.  Only academic, nothing else except now.  She was drawn to this place through dreams that she had been having for several years now.  Rebecca has little to no real friends, except Regan but now there was Shane.  She decided to let herself go and enjoy.  Enjoy in the arms of Shane who was trying his best to seduce.

I love the fact that Shane does seduce her but Rebecca is still a little resistant.  She is logical and does not ask or act like a normal women.  This fact drives Shane crazy because he does not know what to do, and before he knows it Shane will be stuck on Rebecca.  But is he brave enough to tell her everything?

I am not sure which book I liked more so I will say all were wonderful to read.  The brothers are an example of brotherly love through ups and downs.  Nora Roberts knows how to write a romance novel that is charming, seductive and a little twist of the supernatural element.

Introducing the MacKade Brothers

The first book of the series Mackade Brothers is The Return of Rafe MacKade by Nora Roberts.  I was looking forward to the first book of the series because I knew that the series consisted of four books.  I knew there was a beginning and an end in the series which is always nice when reading a series.  The first book is about the second oldest brother of the Mackade Brothers.

The Plot:

“Ten years after disappearing from Antielam, Maryland, the bad boy has returned.  Cleaned up and successful now, and still dangerously good looking, Rafe MacKade sets the town on fire, and tongues wagging.

Lovely newcomer Regan Jones is intrigued, what kind of man could cause this sort of talk?  She’s just about to find out…”

Rafe MacKade left the town in a need to find himself.  He had too much anger.  Now ten years later Rafe is refined, to a point. The anger is still there but he has control on it.  That is until certain people push the wrong buttons, but that anger could also be to protect others around him.

Regan Jones is a young woman getting herself situated in her antique shop.  She had been there for three years and knew all the MacKade brothers except for Rafe who she was now meeting.  Sparks flew but Regan didn’t take the bait.

Or course Rafe knew how to connect with Regan.  He went after her with through her business.  Rafe had bought a rather large, haunted house, and it needed to be rehabbed and decorated.  Regan was the one who got the commission and much more.

The characters of the brothers are utterly fantastic.  They are genuine and real.  I could picture them living and in the situation.  They were charismatic, funny and very brotherly.  Regan’s character was a strong independent woman, she needed to make something on her own.

Another character I liked was Regan’s friend Cassie who is in an abusive marriage and finds the will to get out finally, and later on she will have her chance at love but not yet.

The plot of the book was wonderful to read.  The romance was there and I liked the added fact of the haunted house which gave a little eeriness to the book.

The Return of Rafe MacKade set up the brothers for the next three stories and I hope that they will be just as good.
