Rohn Lerner was lonely but the options of women were limited, then a woman from his past shows up. Rohn will do his best to get close to Bonnie but he will notice she was more closed off than she was in high school.
Bonnie Martin was back home after twenty five years to clear out her old house. Bonnie just wanted to do the work and go back to Arizona but then Rohn comes back into her life.
Midnight Wrangler is the second book to the series Midnight Cowboys by Cat Johnson. I liked the book. I thought it was a good addition to the series though it was a little slow at times.
Rohn’s character was a determined and hard working man but personally he was lonely and a little closed off. I liked that he opened up again when Bonnie came back into his life like he was in high school. Cat Johnson wrote in scenes that were with Rohn and Bonnie when they were back in high school, and I liked that it didn’t overwhelm the book with it being all about their past. Now Bonnie’s character was a woman who was still haunted by her past. That left her closed off and lonely. I liked that she was giving herself a chance with Rohn again but her past was always in the background. I will say that I was curious with what had happened. I was guessing through out the book. When the secret was reveled it wasn’t as big as I thought it would’ve been, and I thought it was a little rushed at the end. The secret was something that was going to hurt Rohn and he forgave really quickly. Although I did like that he forgave since it would give them a second chance at being happy.
John Mason did not like to be cheated and he swore he would find out where the money went, even if he was to go after his ex-betrothed. Though when John finds Mary he will see that she is not living like a woman who had gotten away with a large theft of money.
Miss Mary Chartley’s world fell apart when she found out what her father had done. Mary had to act fast to help her father one last time and to find a way out of trouble, which will only cause more hurt to those around her.
What Happened at Midnight is a novella by Courtney Milan. I liked this one a lot more than the previous novella, only because it was longer and I felt that I got to know the characters.
I liked John’s character. He was a man of conviction and wanted to do right by his sister and nephew. He believed the worst of Mary but I liked that he owned to his mistake and that he was able to move on. Mary’s character I liked but she was at times hard to like. Her character was almost too aloof at times. Though I suppose that was her upbringing. I did like that she loosened up and found who she really was.
Within the story there were plenty of problems that the characters face but Milan will give a good twist to make sure justice is served. This will help make sure Mary and John get their happy ending.
Edward Westover, Duke of Swarthmore has lost his brother in an accident and Edward was bound on revenge against the murderer. He would stop at nothing to get his revenge against Benton and he will succeed, he just didn’t know that through the revenge he would encounter Kate Benton.
Kate Benton loved her home and would do anything to protect it, especially against her father who took everything away. Kate will be stunned when she hears she had been given as a ward to Duke of Swarthmore. She will try to make the best of things but it will get complicated when she starts to feel things for Edward.
Dukes Are Forever is the first book to the series The Secret Life of Scoundrels by Anna Harrington. I really, really liked this book. Right from the start I had gotten into the story and I wanted to know what would happen next.
Edward was a solider through and through and even though he was rough around the edges, at least in the beginning, I really liked him. He shows his good side with trying to be kind and doing what he could to help Kate. Now he could have consulted her on a few things but he was doing it to help. Now Edward did have his fault which was that he was too angry and wanted revenge. Kate’s character was a loving girl who wanted to believe in the good and to help. Kate was also stubborn and protective especially when it came to her farm and the people that worked there.
The villain was obviously the father. He was a user and he used his daughter especially as he preyed on her kindness. He was a character that would never learn from his mistake or change.
I was able to pick up all three of the books at once so I am off to read the second book next.
Tyler Jenkins was working as a ranch hand but will quickly find he will be doing twice the work when he starts to help out a widow. Tyler didn’t find the task exhausting as it gave him an excuse to be by Janie.
Janie Smithwick has been widowed for a year now and the pain was still there, though she will find that she was mending as she started to desire again. Janie should have been wanting someone closer to her age but she will be attracted to a ranch hand.
Midnight Ride is the first book in the series Midnight Cowboys by Cat Johnson. I really liked this book. I thought it was a great start to this cowboy series. Within the book there was some fire and passion that burned between these characters but it was sweet as it was a courtship as well.
Ever since reading the series Oklahoma Nights I was waiting to read Tyler’s story where he had appeared. I had liked his character right away. He was charismatic, a flirt, funny and sweet. Now although he had a way with the ladies I wouldn’t say he was a true player. He definitely got around but it wasn’t as much as others thought. I liked that he was giving up his ways the moment he saw Janie. Janie’s character was someone who was still healing. Although she was ready to move on, she was scared especially to move on with a man who was over 10 years younger than her.
Throughout the book I kept thinking that nothing can really come of this because of the age difference but love does not work around ages. If you love somebody, you love them. I liked that Cat Johnson was letting the woman, a thirty six year old, find love with a younger man, a twenty five year old. For me this age gap is pretty common with historical romances, though its usually the man who is 10 years older than the young woman.
So the second book will be coming out this month and the third book will be coming out in February of 2016. Can’t wait to continue the series.
Steven Creed is an attorney who will find himself becoming a guardian of an orphaned five year old boy. He will move to Stone Creek to be near his family and to make a home for himself and Matt. While Steven was making a home Matt wanted to complete his new family with a new mom, the prosecutor Melissa O’Ballivan.
A Creed in Stone Creek is the first book to the series Creed Cowboys by Linda Lael Miller. So when I started this series I had read the second book then the third book and I am finally finishing the series with the first book.
Well as a whole I liked the series. Personally for me I liked the first book as it was a good book but I thought the other two were better. I guess I was just more intrigued with the twins in the other two books. Although Matt was pretty entertaining to read about and I thought the build of romance between Steven and Melissa was good.
I was happy to read the series because I don’t read a lot from Linda Lael Miller. I tend not to read tons of stories with cowboys, its usually ballrooms and rogues for me, but its always good to change things up.
Margot Radcliffe had runaway from her home but will be back when tragedy strikes her family. Margot and her sisters will work together to try to save their family’s farm. The only problem was she had to try and hire back Travis who had rejected her all those years ago.
Travis Maher loved working with horses and was good at his job. He will be back working at Rosewood but will find that being that close to Margot was too tempting. He will succumb to his desire and show her that he had wanted her even back then.
Remember Me is the first book to the Rosewood Trilogy by Laura Moore. I had read the third book, Trouble Me, and thought it was a pretty great book. I will say that this first book was also a great book to read. Laura Moore captured me with the story and I kept going until the very end hoping for that ending where Margot and Travis finally get to be happy.
Margot was a woman who was thought to be spoiled but she was not really. She grew up privileged and then broke free. She went on her own to become a model and she had made it big. I liked that she defied her father and did not conform to what he wanted her to have. When Margot comes back to the farm she had to balance her career and to save her family farm. She is a strong woman who was doing what needed to be done, which lead her to rehire Travis. Now Travis was a man with his own past but he had become more than that. I liked Travis for the most part even though he hurt Margot, it wasn’t the right time for them to be with each other. They will get together and sparks will fly between them.
I liked the sisters and how they interacted with each other. Jade’s story I have already read and I thought it was interesting to read more about her and her rebellion that she had as a teenager. Now Jordan I felt bad for when she finds out some bad news which will carryover into the second book which is Jordan’s story.
I just now have to read the second book and I will be done with the Rosewood Trilogy.
Connor Creed is a hardworking rancher who is working on his uncle’s legacy. He will enjoy the work but when his estranged twin brother comes back home he will be angry. His thoughts though will be torn between his twin brother and a woman he was starting to have feelings for.
Tricia McCall was in Colorado to help sell her family’s property. She will find herself meeting up again with Connor. She will be torn as she was still in a relationship back in Seattle, although it was fading fast, but her feelings for Connor were strong.
Creed’s Honor is the second book to the series Creed Cowboy by Linda Lael Miller. I have read several books by her and found them heartwarming. This one is very much similar with the heartbreaking plot between the brothers and a promise of love between Connor and Tricia. I liked this story but I did feel like I was already in a story that was already being told. You can follow it along without any problem but there are times that I like to make sure I read a series from the beginning. I will have to find and read the first and third book to know all about this Creed family.
Now I am always one to love a love story and I thought that Connor and Tricia were sweet once they got around to admitting that they have feelings. So besides the love story there was intrigue that was with the twin brother, Brody. You disliked him for the smug way about him but I wondered if it was true. Well that thought really came about half way through the book. I wanted to believe in the brother as it felt there was something that was missing. Due to what you find out about Brody I really want to read the third book to know the entire story.
