Rehvenge is a dangerous man that has worked with the Brotherhood but there is another side to his life. It is this life that will have someone approach him to kill the King. Rehvenge has to make a decision otherwise the life that he had been hiding will be uncovered.
Lover Avenged is the seventh book to the Black Dagger Brotherhood series by JR Ward. Well I did like this one but I will say that at times I felt lost or maybe overwhelmed would be a better answer. There were a lot of stories that are being told which got overwhelming. This book was also the longest one so far in the series. So aside from being a little overwhelmed at times I did enjoy the story and this other world of symphaths.
Rehvenge’s character was a darker character as he was leading two lives and one of his lives would make him an outcast. His other side is a symphath which is someone who can manipulate feelings in others. He was not always a nice guy but when you got to know him better you know that there is more to him. I liked seeing the softer side with him when he met up with Ehlena. Ehlena was the other main character who was Rehvenge’s love interest. She was another lonely soul like Rehvenge, in her own way she was an outcast, which made them almost perfect for each other. Though it would never be an easy way between them until Rehvenge came clean to what he was doing and who he really was.
John’s story is coming up so his activity in the book is making himself known more. I hated what he was doing to himself, he was having numerous amounts of sex with woman he didn’t even like all because he thought he was not worthy of one. I want him to find that happiness with Xhex, though that will be in the next story. Although there will be a problem because at the end of this book something will happen that will make trouble for John and Xhex.
Drea Rousseau was living a life she knew would end so she prepared herself. She took enough money that would keep her alive but she was not prepared for the assassin who Rafael Salinas put on her trail.
Death Angel is a novel by Linda Howard. This book was really good and it was more than it appeared to be. At first it was a survival book with Drea having to run for her life. Then a tragedy happens and a little supernatural comes into play. I thought the supernatural aspect was done well, it was just unexpected.
When I first started the book I was wondering who she would be with. I knew that this was a suspense romance so there was going to be someone Drea was going to be with. At first I thought maybe Rafael did love her but that was clearly not the case. I then thought maybe an FBI agent but instead her attention was with the assassin, well to a point. The assassin, Simon, was more than he appeared to be. You liked him but he was a bad man, then something inside him changes. I liked the change but he was still that ruthless killing machine.
I was pretty much on board throughout the entire book as it was engaging. I am on the lookout for more Linda Howard books and I am actually going to be reading another one next which is Shadow Woman.
A recently new author, Julie James, has written three books so far. From reading one of her books I was immediately fascinated by her writing and the characters that have been woven into her plot. The third book she has written “Something About You”. I liked the cover and once I read the back of the book I was hooked.
“Of all the hotel rooms rented by all the adulterous politicians in Chicago, female Assistant U.S. Attorney Cameron Lynde had to choose the one next to 1308, where some hot-and-heavy lovemaking ends with a death. And of all the FBI agents in Illinois, it had to be Special Agent Jack Pallas who gets assigned to this high-profile homicide. The same Jack Pallas who still blames Cameron for a botched crackdown three years ago, and for nearly ruining his career…
Work with Cameron Lynde? Are they kidding? Maybe, Jack thinks, this is some kind of welcome-back prank after his stint away of Chicago. But it is no joke: the pair is going to have to put their rocky past behind them and focus on the case at hand. That is, if they can cut back on the razor-sharp jibes and smother the flame of their sizzling-hot sexual tension…”
Through Julie James writing I understood perfectly the feelings and thoughts that were being described by the characters. In the beginning I loved how the book started with Cameron awakened by a noisy couple making love, very loudly. Her mood described by Julie James set the book perfectly. It was humorous at first but then tragedy hit and the plot thickened.
While reading the book I understood the instant dislike of the characters and immediately sensed the anguish. Of course all of these feelings are on false facts. The tough FBI agent Jack Pallas has understood that Cameron Lynde is to blame for his failure in the case and his transfer but is she really? Cameron knows what he thinks and cannot tell any differently. She was told to take the blame but she helped Jack’s case the best she could. Of course Jack does not know and Cameron cannot tell him due to the fact that someone might find out and trouble could brew from these facts. Trouble that could be with killing or enhance their sexual desire for each other.
This romance book is worth reading. Makes you wish for your own FBI agent watching out for you.
