A Bollywood Affair

A Bollywood AffairMili Rathod was married to her groom when she was four years old. Mili has waited twenty years for her groom to claim her but she only waited. Mili will take a chance and to further her education by going to the United States. She will meet a man Samir and will start to feel things for him. She knows it is wrong since she is married but her heart was bonding towards Samir. Though Mili will find out that everything is not as it seems.

Samir Rathod was a big time director but that was not his concern at the moment. His concern was to make sure the wedding of his older brother never took place. Samir will meet Mili and instead of telling her what he wanted, he will lie to Mili and befriend her. Before Samir knows it he will start falling for this woman and Samir will have to figure out how to tell her everything before she finds out the truth.

A Bollywood Affair is the first book to the series Bollywood by Sonali Dev. I loved this book. You are immersed into the culture and life of these characters. The characters felt real thanks to Sonali Dev’s storytelling. I could not put this book down.

Mili was a young woman who lived her cultures tradition. I liked that she was so devoted on her tradition but I thought she was a little naive. Though I was happy to read that she did want more especially as her husband was dragging his feet to claim her. Mili was also unbelievably kind and sweet to everyone which gets her into trouble because she happenes to trust the wrong man. Though I was happy that she showed a backbone but it was at a heartbreaking scene. Samir or Sam was a good man but he didn’t always handle things the best way. Like how he was lying to Mili about who he really was. I wanted him to come clean right away as I knew that would be a defining moment in the book. Though it was interesting to read how Samir was falling in love. He was trying to stop it from happening but it was something he could not stop.

The downfall is obviously when Mili will find out the truth and Sonali Dev does a good job at writing the scene. The emotions that were skillfully written, I felt all the emotions as I read the book.

I am looking forward to reading the second book to the series which I am reading next.

Playing Dirty

Cade Gallari was not the same stupid teenager who made a pointless bet but he wasn’t sure if Ava believed that he had changed. With filming the documentary he would prove he changed as he still wanted Ava as there was fire that had not disappeared even after thirteen years.

Ava Spencer was devastated back in high school but she had come a long way from the plump girl. Now thirteen years later the boy who broke her heart was back and needed her help. Ava would help but keep her distance as she was not sure he could be trusted though with each look she felt her control crumble.

Playing DirtyPlaying Dirty is the third book of the Sisterhood Diaries series from Susan Andersen. I liked this book immediately as it stirred an emotion of fury which I had felt back in high school during my freshman year. Personally I think no matter what high school is hell for most even if they don’t want to admit it. In Playing Dirty Susan Anderson does a fabulous job with recreating a situation that is very real in a high school with the upper and lower status of the students.

You wanted to hate Cade for what he had done to Ava in high school but then you always wanted to shake Ava as to say that he is not the same person you had known and it was time to let it go. Throughout the book I found myself flipping the pages enjoying each scene that Andersen created. There was a little humor, passion and a mystery which followed the book. I thought the mystery of the diamonds gave a nice ending to the book and series.

A Small Town Sheriff Meets Hollywood

Reading Nora Roberts you always come up with a new plot and characters in each story she writes. In The Law is a Lady the small town sheriff will get a sight of Hollywood.

Victoria Ashton is the new sheriff as her father has passed away. She does her job the best she can but is this were she wants to be for the rest of her life? Victoria though will have a new challenge in her life when a out-of-towner comes into her small town.

Philip Kincaid is entertained being pulled over by a lady sheriff but not so much as he gets put into jail by her. Philip though soon forgets and knows this town is the perfect place for his movie they were going to film. The road block will be the sheriff but she could be one to get through with the power of seduction. Philip comes to the conclusion that the sheriff is the perfect lady for him and he always gets what he wants.

The story was sweet and simple with fun characters that carried through the entire novel. I liked how each character was something more than they appeared to be which gave depth to the novel. Roberts description let readers get right into the story with the very first page.

Cordina’s Royal Family by Nora Roberts

This is the collection of the first three books about the Royal Family of Cordina. I took the chance on these three stories after I picked up the fourth and final book. I liked the fourth okay, but I went to look at these three.  It was fantastic.  Within this series Nora Roberts creates this whimsical, adventures, enduring, romantic characters and plot. Makes you sigh and jump for joy as love conquers all for those royal siblings.

Affaire Royale

Recently kidnapped Princess Gabriella has amnesia, but in the arms of bodyguard Reeve MacGee she finds a passion that’s unforgettable.

Since I read the last book first I found out about their daughter before I read about the parents. I loved this story as the beginning. It was cute, entertaining, and enduring. I loved seeing how Camille’s parents met. The Royal family is a delight.

Command Performance

Though His Royal Highness Alexander is destined to rule Cordina, it’s regal-and elusive-Eve Hamilton who rules his heart.

The second was so sweet and romantic. Both wanted each other but never went for it. Then fate gives them their chance only to have it more obstacles put in the way but not forever. It was funny, completely romantic story between them.

The Playboy Prince

Why is reserved Hannah Rothchild so intriguing to dedicated ladies man Prince Bennett? Is it her secret mission-or the fascinating lady herself?

The last story was lovely. I loved how reserved Hannah was and able to get the playboy Prince on his bend and knee for her. You knew there would be a happy ending but there were some bumps in the road.

The series of Cordina’s Royal Family was a delight to read.
