So it is here, finally the ninth book so far of the Women’s Murder Club series, The 9th Judgment.
The Plot of The 9th Judgment:
“A young mother and her infant child are ruthlessly gunned down while returning to their car in the garage of a shopping mall. There are no witnesses, and Detective Lindsay Boxer is left with only one shred of evidence: a cryptic message scrawled across the windshield in bloodred lipstick.
The same night, the wife of A-list actor Marcus Dowling is woken by a cat burglar who is about to steal millions dollars’ worth of precious jewels. In just seconds there is a nearly empty safe, a lifeless body, and another mystery that throws San Fransisco into hysteria.
Lindsay spends every waking hour working with her partner, Rich-and her desire for him threatens to tear apart both her engagement and the Women’s Murder Club. Before Lindsay and her friends can piece together either case, one of the killers forces Lindsay to put her own life on the line-but is it enough to save the city?”
I have to admit after reading the eighth book of Patterson I was dying to know what their next big case would be and then the whole thing with the relationships. And now that I had time to process those thoughts I am actually kinda pissed at Lindsay’s character because in the eighth book she was acting stupid. Joe is an amazing man and Rich is too but Lindsay has the man she should be with. I am happy to read in the ninth book though that the relationship is not threatened and Lindsay will be able to stick with Joe because he is the one. And I am very happy it didn’t center all about the drama of her life but the action of the case.
The plot in Patterson’s style is fast, riveting, and right to the point. Through the book I am feeling sorry for the cat burglar. I want her to be alright.
The book for me went lightening fast. I couldn’t stop reading the book. There was one point in the book towards the end that I thought I would throw the book to the floor. I was pissed at Patterson for doing that but it got a reaction and thankfully everything went well.
So if you want non-stop thriller filled with an interesting plot, dynamic characters then The 9th Judgment will be the book for you.
So now the question is when will the tenth book to the Women’s Murder Club be released?
