Princess Alexandra wanted to live a little and she will get that chance when she meets Luke Houston, the movie star. She will be shocked that Luke will want more and Alex will be willing but will be nervous to want more with Luke.
Luke Houston was on site for his movie but it was going down hill, then he will meet Princess Alexandra. He will be impressed by Alex and want to know more. Luke will do what he could to get to know Alex and get close to her.
His Royal Princess is a novella from Billionaire’s Boys Club by Jessica Clare. 3.5 novella. I thought this was a cute story and fun addition to the series.
I thought Alex’s character was intriguing. She was brought up to be proper and she was but there was an adventurous girl inside of her just waiting to step out. It was cute that her mother and grandmother helped her. It was not expected which was nice. Alex lets herself go from the stuffy upbringing and live a little when it comes to Luke. Luke’s character was a nice guy. He was not a player but a serious actor who wanted to do the best he could when it came his movies. Luke is definitely a lustful guy but he is sweet and playful especially when it comes to Alex. It was interesting getting to know these characters who were introduced in the fourth book of this series.
I am reading the last three books next which will conclude the Billionaire’s and Bridesmaids series and the Billionaire’s Boys Club series.
Miss Madeline Gracechurch had written letters since she was sixteen to her brave beau, Captain Logan MacKenzie, and she was devastated when he had died. But Madeline had not truly known heartbreak as her Captain was imaginary. She will be shocked years later when Captain Logan MacKenzie comes to her home wanting to marry her.
Captain Logan MacKenzie had come to Madeline to find a place for his men and for himself. He also wanted to meet the naive English girl who had written him letters. Logan will be surprised when he meets his intended but nothing would stop him from his goal.
When a Scot Ties the Knot is the third book from the series Castles Ever After by Tessa Dare. I really loved this book. I love how Dare weaves together her plot and characters. In this story it is truly like a fairy tale when Captain Logan and Madeline meet at the castle. Although the problem in this fairy tale was they had never met before, the letters Madeline wrote were to a fictional man.
So the character of Madeline was interesting. She was a nervous girl who had created a beau so she could be left alone. Her shyness was overwhelming and with the explanation that Dare gives it was no wonder that she was scared of crowds. Now Captain Logan was someone I liked but to be honest at first I was thinking he would not be a character I would like. He was being cruel to Madeline right from the beginning. Although when you get to know him and what had happened you start to truly understand him. I wanted him to find happiness with Madeline.
The ending was charming and very sweet, and it was very befitting to the story.
Julia Hargrove was from England, the year was 1893. She was going with her family to Scotland to the Dunraven castle. She will not want to be at castle especially as her room seems to be haunted. Julia will find out that it is not haunted but that time shifts and she comes face to face with a warrior, Rae MacKinnon, back in 1390.
A Slip in Time is a book from Kathleen Kirkwood. I was impressed with this book.
So I don’t read many time travel books just because I am not always interested in them. It usually is that the writing is not that great or the style of how the book is written. Well I had no complaints when I read the book from Kathleen Kirkwood. I was immediately pulled into the story and did not want to stop reading.
Immediately I liked Julia’s character, I thought she was written well. I liked that was scared and heartbroken, but she had a backbone when it came to doing what she needed. Then there was Rae who was a man that was a laird of his clansmen. He was a warrior but not just all brawn, he was smart and cautious. He was also very sensual especially when it came to Julia. I loved the romance that bloomed between them but in the back of my mind I wondered how would it last when you knew that the slip in time would eventually close.
I thought that Kirkwood wrote the time traveling parts very well. I was intrigued with how she made the time traveling happened, how it progressed and that it had happened before. So for those who want a very well done time traveling book try A Slip in Time.
Gwendolyn Wilder will be the most sensible person in her village but that will get her nowhere when the villagers believe that a dragon lives in the abandoned castle. The villagers believe to make the dragon happy a virgin sacrifice is needed and Gwendolyn is volunteered. She knows there is no dragon but she is still afraid of what will come to her when she comes to the castle.
The Bride and the Beast was fantastic. This is a novel by Teresa Medeiros and I couldn’t stop reading the story. Personally I think it is because it reminded me so much of Beauty and the Beast, which was my favorite story when I was a child. There was something enchanting with the story.
I loved Gwendolyn’s character. She was a woman of sense, was brave and tried to do what was right. It was kind of ridicules with the villagers and how they thought sacrificing Gwen would solve anything. I was kind of mad at the sisters who didn’t really fight to help their sister. The two older ones were not great sisters, at least Kitty had some sense even if it was a little. Now the Dragon as he called himself but his true identity was someone who was out for revenge. There was a need for revenge as that was what he had concentrated on for most of his life. There was no room for love for the Dragon but you knew Gwen would be the one to make him change.
There was a little surprise about the person who betrayed the Dragon’s family, which I had wondered about. Though the person who had betrayed the Dragon’s family will not be discovered until close to the very end. I liked that it was concluded and that the Dragon had to work for what he had lost with Gwen.
Catriona Kincaid has thought of Simon Wescott as a hero as a young woman and when she needs help she will turn to him five years later. She needs someone to escort her to Scotland to find her brother, who is believed dead and for her to claim her land.
Sir Simon Wescott was not the hero that Catriona thought and he was determined to prove that point. The problem was that he was starting to feel things for his wife but he was still not brave enough to show it.
Some Like It Wicked is the first book to the series Kincaid Highland. This was an engaging story that was really fast paced and I can’t wait to read the next installation which happens to be the last book of the series.
I love Catriona’s character. She is a brave woman who was a little naive but was not a weak woman. She believed in what was right and saw the good in other people. Catriona is just a very likeable character. Now Simon is not a villain in any sense. He is also a good man and is a hero in his own right especially when he will do what he can to help Catriona. It might have started with a bargain but Simon will find more and want more. I was happy when Simon got it together and the ending was very sweet between these characters.
Medeiros follows up with an epilogue that will show how life is for Catriona and Simon. They are extremely happily married with a growing family but then a letter comes and you will find out that Connor who was thought to be dead was really alive, at least for the time being. I will be reading the second/final book of the series next.
Daisy Montgomery will do what she can to save her home. She will enlist the help of a Viscount who will come to help her. She will want more from this man but there will be problems along the way and half of them come from her step-family.
Charles Thorpe, Viscount Lumley, did not want to marry but he would help out a woman who was in need. He will come to Daisy’s aide when he comes to her home and finds that he will be enticed and want more with this woman.
If You Give a Girl a Viscount is fourth book to the Impossible Bachelors series by Kieran Kramer who is a new author I found.
Daisy is like the character Cinderella but has more of a backbone and had to put up with a lot more attitude. Daisy’s family was pretty cruel to her. Then there is Charles who was a playboy at times but he was a good man with a good heart. They worked well together and there was plenty of passion but that will get in the way with all the things they had to do.
There are plenty of twist going on in the story with how bad the step-family can be and all that Daisy had to put up with. I was surprised at some of the identities that were revealed and how much hatred there was towards Daisy. What kind of bugged me was how forgiving Daisy was to her family members, well not all of them. I guess I thought some of those things really shouldn’t be forgiven, but it was.
I was happy for the ending as it gave Daisy and Charles a way to be happy. Overall I liked the book as it was cute, it didn’t really thrill me. I will probably read the other books from the series but I am not racing to the shelves of my library.
Sir Alistair Munroe lives in his castle in solitude. His life will be turned upside down when a woman and her children storm his castle. Alistair will be reluctant to have them stay but will let them. He will start to find something to live for after all that he has suffered.
Helen Fitzwilliam has lived a life that has drained her over the years. She lives as a prisoner and finally takes the chance to get away. She will get a job as a housekeeper in Scotland to an impossible man. He will be scarred but Helen will see that he is not the beast he portrays.
To Beguile a Beast is the third book to Legend of the Four Soldiers from Elizabeth Hoyt. I started this book in the early afternoon and I kept at it until the last page. I was easily brought into the story with Helen and Alistair and found myself enjoying their story.
With the characters you learn more and more about them as the story goes on. I wanted Helen to find happiness and get away from the controlling Duke. Her kids were a cute touch in the book giving Alistair a chance to become friendlier and not so voided of emotions. Helen was out of her element but became more resourceful and stronger. Alistair makes a dramatic change as well with becoming more lighthearted with the kids and Helen but he is still a man scared to go out into public because of his appearance. The interesting thing was his injury took place at the battle where Vale and Samuel were and who are still looking for the traitor. Hopefully the fourth book will have answers of the betrayal.
The villain is clearly the Duke of Lister who wants nothing but to get back what he wanted. There is no great battle between the hero or the villain, more like the hero being clever enough to out smart the villain.
The next book is To Desire a Devil which is the fourth and final book of the series.
Mara McDougall has lived in Philadelphia but soon finds herself owning a castle in Scotland. There will be a problem though which started with a medieval bed where a man is very rude. She will be seeing this man more and more, and find out that he is not exactly real.
Sir Alexander Douglas is not exactly a ghost as he is not exactly alive or dead. He is there to guard his bed and will find himself going back to Scotland with the bed’s new owner. He will despise the owner because she is a McDougall but he wouldn’t be able to stop his feelings for her.
Highlander in Her Bed was a book that was sitting on my bookshelf in my to be read pile. It is the first book to the series Scottish-set paranormals. I found the book different, I liked it but it was certainly a little strange with the ghost but not ghost Alex. I got into the book fairly easy and it was entertaining with Alex and finding out about the curse and feud between the two families. The different realm was a little strange but once you got into the story it was entertaining to read. Mara is a character you liked and Alex was someone you wanted to have him find his absolution. I figured out how the ending would be shaping out to be but it was fun nevertheless.
I am interested in finding out more on the other paranormal men that were introduced in the first book. So I know that I will be checking out Allie Mackey for more of her books from the series.
Miss Kate Daltry is on a mission to become her stepsister and meet the prince who would become family. Kate knew it would not work but would do it for Victoria. Kate will come to the castle but her getup will not fool everyone especially the prince.
Prince Gabriel is waiting the arrival of his bride and meeting his nephews soon to be bride. He will be stunned to feel an attraction to this woman, but he will be even more stunned to find out this woman is not who she is pretending to be.
Kiss At Midnight is the first book to the Eloisa James series Happily Ever After. When I found these books I was instantly intrigued as I love when authors take the classic fairy tales and remake them in their own words. Grabbing several books to the series from the shelves I made this my project for the next several days.
Now Kiss At Midnight is clearly the fairy tale Cinderella as you can tell by the picture and the world midnight in the title. I have read many stories on the remake of Cinderella over the years but I have to say I really enjoyed Eloisa James remake. There are several little twist in the book that I did not see coming and it molds how the story is going to be told. Kate is a fiery woman who speaks her mind and has a sharp wit She wants romance but she knows her limitations and a prince is certainly not in that equation. I liked she was not one to swoon or to cry at a mere problem but held back her feelings until they were unbearable (at the end). She also fought the attraction to the prince whenever she could. That was funny as Prince Gabriel is not one to have someone ignore him. Aside from the proud prince he was pretty fantastic as he cared more for his own people than his own happiness. Throughout the book I hoped that there would be a chance for love but as anyone knows true love in fairy tales always comes true so I wasn’t too worried.
I thought this book was a great start to this Happily Ever After series. I don’t know if James will continue with characters from the first book which it seems all had been given a happy ending. So my bet is this will be a whole new story with new characters. Nevertheless this is a series I think will be very enjoyable.
The was the question that Erin had to come up with. Who’s the next bachelor for their Prince Charming? It was a hard job but Erin loved it but something happens on this trip as they come upon to the broken down castle with Dylan as its innkeeper.
Dylan Chrisholm is the owner of the broken down land and doesn’t want anything to do with the Prince Charming show that is until he sees Erin. Sparks fly as they get close. Dylan and Erin are not ready to take the plunge but it could be coming whether they are ready or not.
The Great Scot is the second book to the series Chrisholm Brothers. Donna Kauffman creates the plot that many have used before but it was twisted with many witty characters, two of which are fighting the attraction.
Kauffman pulls off the hot and heavy scenes that aspire as Erin and Dylan are together but the story of their past pull off the story. The reader will be intrigued about the past and where these characters come from.
The Great Scot is a steamy squeal for the oldest Chrisholm brother.
