Sherry Carne was a successful business woman but was unlucky in love. That will all change when a young girl runs into her shop and hides from four men who barged into the store. Sherry will find herself immersed into a world that was hidden from her and she will not be alone any longer.
Basileios “Basil” Argeneau is one of the oldest immortals. He had lost his mate right as Atlantis had fallen and has not found another life mate since then. That will change for Basil when he meets Sherry. Though before he can get her to agree to be changed he will have to protect her from danger.
The Immortal Who Loved Me is the twenty-first book to the Argeneau Family series by Lynsay Sands. Alright so I thought that this book was good, it wasn’t my favorite. Throughout this series there have been amazing books, great books, and good books. I guess I felt that Sherry and Basil went straight to having sex right away. I’m okay with that but I wanted a little more from the characters before they let the life mate passion overwhelm them. I found Sherry’s character a little strange at times but she was interesting being that she was very outspoken. Basil’s character was calm and collected. I found him interesting as he was Lucian’s brother. I can’t remember if he was in the previous books but overall I liked his character.
There was another character that I liked in the book which was Stephanie. Stephanie was a young girl that was changed to a non fanger by Leo as well as her sister Dani. I really can’t wait to read Stephanie’s story which I would assume Lynsay Sands will be writing. In this book she was playing matchmaker, she was like a mini Marguerite.
What kept me going was the mystery of the immortal that had been in Sherry’s life. It appeared that the mystery immortal had controlled Sherry as they programmed certain answers for her to respond when she was asked about a certain person. The answers are given and it was intriguing but at the same time not great with what the immortal did.
On a side note I loved reading about Lucian and Leigh. You got to know what was happening with them which made me happy especially with how they had a tragedy several books back.
I have About a Vampire, which is with Justin. Justin has been a character that has been in the series for quite awhile and I am looking forward to reading his story next.
Elena knew that she needed to leave before her uncle took his advances any further. She will escape to the broken down castle which was abandoned though she will find out that is not exactly true.
Drake lived in the abandoned castle all alone until he finds a woman seeking shelter. He will let her live there to protect her from her uncle, but he will find that there are other things that will become a problem with her being there.
Bound by Night is the first book to the series Bound by Amanda Ashley. I liked the book, it was a book that went by fast for me. I felt that in the beginning of the book the story resembled Beauty and the Beast, which I liked. So vampire books are all very different and I like when author’s give the vampires a little something different than the classic myths. Well most of the facts about these vampires were from the classics but there were a couple differences. One difference was that taking blood didn’t need to be done everyday or in their case every night.
Elena’s character was for the most part scared and a little weak but that was only till she found the courage to get out of a bad situation. She is resilient but in the world that she will be thrown into she wouldn’t be able to handle everything that comes her way. Drake’s character was a vampire that didn’t want to follow in his father’s path. He didn’t like the ways of the old. I liked that about Drake and loved that he wanted to be with Elena more than anything though there will be plenty of ways that will make it difficult.
I am reading the second and final book to the series next which will be with Elena and Drake’s daughter.
Vampire Zoltan Czakvar has lived for eight hundred years and never found out the truth of the day his mother was killed. He wanted the answers which will lead him to a group of secretive woman who are no ordinary woman.
Neona has lived for over a thousand years. She has lived in her home where her job was to protect the Living Water and to continue their female line. Their secrets will be in danger when Zoltan enters into her life.
How to Seduce a Vampire (Without Really Trying) is the fifteenth book to the series Love at Stake by Kerrelyn Sparks. I found myself really enjoying the book. I thought it was fast paced and it held true to the style which Sparks has been writing.
The character of Zoltan was like many of the vampires within the series but I was drawn to his compassion especially when he was dealing with Neona. What I also liked about his character was his ability to talk to animals, which is part of the big secret. It all made sense once you knew the facts about these women. Now Neona was an amazon warrior but she was not as strong as her fellow warriors. She did not push aside her pain of losing her sister which made her weak. I thought her power was interesting. She was a healer but she felt all the pain as she healed the other person.
I liked the mystery which was taking place within the book. There were several mystery’s, one was what happened to Zoltan all those years ago and the other was what were the woman hiding. Those secrets pulled you into the story and those secrets wouldn’t stay hidden forever as Sparks will make a big reveal.
There was a lot of action which happened in the book and there was a lot of interaction with the other vampires and these warriors. I liked that Emma was in the book and she got a nice surprise towards the end which made me smile. Another surprise was what happened to Zoltan which personally I didn’t see coming.
I am reading the sixteenth book which will conclude the series.
Daniella Delaney wanted to make cupcakes and make her store successful but one man was making it very difficult, Nick St. George. He did not make her feel welcomed and wanted her gone. Daniella had no idea why but she was here to stay and determined to dislike him. That was difficult as she was finding him irresistible.
Nick St. George did not want any more humans in his town but it seemed that Daniella wasn’t going to budge. He was shocked that his usual techniques did not work which made her a mystery to him. Nick was determined to find out about this woman and the trouble that seemed to follow her.
Sleeping with the Entity is the first book to the series Entity by Cat Devon. I liked the book. It was kind of quirky with kind of being a little absurd but in a good way because you liked the characters.
This story is set in Chicago all around vampires and a cupcake baker. Daniella is a determined woman with a very sunny disposition especially when it comes to her cupcakes. I liked that when facing Nick she doesn’t fall over him even though she finds him very appealing. I loved the fact that Nick who was a pretty powerful vampire could not use his powers to compel Daniella to do what he wanted. They are kind of like adversaries in a way but obviously they get over that problem as they will be heating up the pages.
The supernatural aspect is a little strange. There are obviously vampires but Daniella is not just a normal human and Devon will explain more as the story goes on. That plays into a part with the bad guy as Daniella was to be a prize worth having.
Based on this first book I will be back to revisit Cat Devon’s series.
Kadie Andrews will take one wrong turn and soon find herself in a town that is not on the map. She will also find that by setting foot in this town she will not be able to venture out of its boundaries. Kadie will know something is very wrong especially when she meets Rylan Saintcrow who looks to be the man in charge, but she will find out that he is not a man.
Rylan Saintcrow will wake after thirty years of sleep all because of a newcomer, Kadie. He will want her with him and he will take her as she calls to him. He will keep her in the town that he owns along with the other vampires and humans who have stumbled in, but he will soon be seeing things differently as he gets closer to Kadie.
As Twilight Falls is a standalone novel by Amanda Ashley. I have read one other book from her and I really liked it. She is a good writer and the characters make me want to continue her story. I liked the concept of the book with a town that was not on the map but clearly there once you walked over. It was interesting that you could stumble upon the town but couldn’t get out unless you were the owner.
Rylan was the master vampire of the town and made it like a haven for those vampires. I loved his character. I liked that he came out of his sleep for Kadie that her pull to him was so strong. He was like a dictator in the town but he will soon slowly change for Kadie. He will give all he can to Kadie just not her freedom that is until he knows that will be the only way. Kadie’s character was a strong woman and she acted the part of a woman being held prisoner by a punch of vampires. It seemed unbelievable that she would fall for Rylan but of course it does happen. Their relationship is unstable to say the least but they find a way to work being in the town especially as Rylan will soften.
The ending was predicable with what happens which gave Kadie and Rylan a chance at happiness. I did like how the author helped them with the problem of Kadie’s father.
I don’t have another book yet picked up from Amanda Ashley but I will be on the look out for another one to read.
Nicole Phillips is a successful artist but going through a divorce that is leaving her with too many problems. She will get some help with a new cook/housekeeper but she will be getting more than she realized.
Jake Colson is on a job thanks to a family member but it is not the normal security job. He has to play a role to help protect an artist who is being threatened by her ex-husband. He will keep an eye on her but his lust will take over even when the accidents gets too close.
One Lucky Vampire is the nineteenth book from the Argeneau Family series by Lynsay Sands. I have read all of the books of this series and it keeps me going with every book I have read. Lynsay Sands brings this series with a interesting twist with the nanos. This was another good book to read. She keeps growing the series with new family members and it looks as if she is giving more options going to the Notte side of the family. There is a side of me that still loves the very beginning books the best but no matter what these books are very entertaining.
I liked Nicole’s character in the book. She was an artist and stressed over all that she has been happening to her with the divorce. I liked that you found out more info on the soon to be ex husband which gives several answers to several situations that happened. Now there is of course our hero who is Jake. He was turned only seven years ago and doesn’t really like it. He does understand more now and stops hating what he is.
There will be plenty of sex between Nicole and Jake once they understand they are life mates and it doesn’t really stop. Their relationship goes fast pretty quickly but that is like most of the couples in the series. It gets a little humorous with Jake’s family intruding on them. I thought that getting to who is behind all the accidents took a while to have it all wrapped up together. There is a twist with this person that kept you guessing towards a different direction.
Gideon has been enslaved by a witch for several years. He is given human women to drain and the witch will then take his blood which keeps her body young. Gideon is desperate to escape and will soon find it possible with the next woman who is thrown into his cage.
Kay Alissano had no idea where she was when she woke up in a strange room. She will find herself trapped with a vampire and soon realize that she is his next meal but will soon find that with Gideon she will not have to forfeit her life.
Desire the Night was an impulse pick up as I walked the aisle of the library. I decided to give Amanda Ashley a try and found that it was a good book. It wasn’t mind blowing with tons of action or sex but it was a satisfying sit down book that I read pretty quickly. The plot was quick and the characters were easy to follow along with and you knew which ones to hate and to cheer for.
I found myself though asking is this going too fast? Should there be more detail with the characters especially the love that blossoms almost instantly without any supernatural help between Gideon and Kay. It’s a little unbelievable but still there are good transitions through the book.
What I did find annoying was the role of the father, the Alpha werewolf of Kay. He was way too dominating with his wife and daughter. He was a character you didn’t really like but didn’t hate either. The mother was the tragic one and at the end you were glad that at least she found a way out of her own hell even if it was a tragic way.
Now even though I found the father annoying I have a feeling I will be reading more from Amanda Ashley in the future.
