Mac wanted Delilah from the moment that he had seen her but he had to stay away. He did not want to repeat past mistakes, but then Mac will have to help Delilah and he will find himself in close proximity to her. For Mac it will be hard to concentrate but in order to keep Delilah and her uncle safe, Mac had to keep his head in the mission.
Delilah had fallen in love with Mac but she knew he was just not interested. Though when Delilah’s uncle is taken she goes to the Black Knights, specifically to Mac, for help. She will be grateful for the help especially when she finds out there is much more to her uncle’s kidnapping.
Hell for Leather is the sixth book to the series Black Knights Inc by Julie Ann Walker. Its been awhile since I picked up a book from the author and I found myself not having a problem following along. Though I will say it took me a little time to get back into the book. It was mostly because I was trying to remember the other characters that were being mentioned in the book. Once I let go of that notion I sat back and enjoyed the book, and it was very enjoyable.
I found Mac’s character likable and a badass, but was a little annoying with his need not to fall for Delilah especially when you find out the reason he needs to stay away. I can understand his reasoning especially when you get the whole story but every situation is different. Mac can’t see beyond what had happened to him in the past. Then there is Delilah who is a vibrant woman but she had gone through a lot within the past couple of years. I liked that she stays strong but inside she is an emotional mess. That made her feel real.
Well there is some definite action that comes to the Black Knights thanks to Delilah. Through the first half of the book I was wondering why would the bad guys had taken Delilah’s uncle. The truth will be revealed which made sense for why the bad guys were going after the uncle and Delilah.
Emily Allard-Smith needed help with her house. She kept hearing noises and everyone kept telling her it could be haunted. Emily will get some help from a handyman, Jericho, to find out the real problem of her possible ghost. Though when the ghost issue was solved Emily will find that she didn’t want Jericho to leave.
Jericho Lozada was starting over in a new town as a handyman. He will get several jobs but the one he likes most is with Emily. He starts to really feel things for her and will realize it is not just feelings of lust.
The Bad Boy of Bluebonnet is the 4.5 novella of Bluebonnet series by Jessica Clare. I thought this was a fun addition to the series. It was very quick, which it should be since it is a novella. The novella was well balanced with the plot especially as you already knew details about the characters from previous books.
So this book is with a lot of sex that Emily and Jericho have. That is how things start but feelings start to happen and they are wondering if they can take the next step to a relationship. I liked Jericho. At first when he first was mentioned in the series I wasn’t sure if he would be a bad influence, but he wasn’t. He just wanted to work. Emily needed to live a little. She was stuck in her bed and breakfast trying to make things right. I liked that she did not stop trying.
The haunted bed and breakfast was not as it seemed. I was wondering if it would take a different turn but I had a hunch that it wouldn’t because this novella was not a thriller. Everything was kept light and with some steamy scenes.
Well this looks to be the last of the series but you never know, more stories could be added to the series.
Elise Markham has always been shy thanks to a birthmark that she had been born with. She had it fixed but she was always self conscious. She will then meet a man who was unlike anyone she ever met and she will take a chance with. She wanted to live her life and Rome would help her accomplish that.
Rome Lozada had needed a job desperately and had gotten lucky getting one in Bluebonnet. He knew not to screw it up but it looked like that could happen when he started seeing his bosses sister, Elise. Rome knew that nothing with Elise would be permanent but he wanted a chance to be with her for how ever long they had together.
The Virgin’s Guide to Misbehaving is the fourth book to the series Bluebonnet by Jessica Clare. I really liked this book. This book is steamy, though that is pretty much like all Jessica Clare books, but she also writes her characters well.
Elise’s character had been introduced in the third book and her character intrigued me. I had no idea why she was so shy but I wanted to know. You find out that Elisa had a port wine color birthmark that had covered most of her cheek but she had it removed. She was, however, still self conscious and not sure of herself. This is where Rome will come into play because he will help Elise live a little. Rome’s character is a good man who believed in the wrong people, his parents. Because of that mistake he had time in prison. Added with the fact that he is a biker and has tattoos people perception of him are rather judgmental. Elise did not judge him as she knew what it felt like to be judged.
So one thing that Clare has both characters doing was thinking the worst of the situation. They immediately jump to the conclusion that they are no good thanks to their past. Though they’ll get it right in the end.
I am reading what looks like the last book of the series next.
Sophie Heyer had lived with scandal since she was a child when her mother had disappeared with another man. She had lived with the rumors and made sure to play the part of the good girl so no one compared her to her mother but then she will meet Alex.
Alex Bishop was back at his brothers request. He did not want to be back in Jackson but he gave in. Alex will ride into town and find that nothing had changed except that his mother had become crazier and that he was lusting after a librarian.
Looking For Trouble is the second book to the series Girls Night Out by Victoria Dahl. I liked the book. It was full of passion and lust with some heartbreaking moments.
The character of Sophie was one who was sweet and shy but there was another side to her. She was also wild and wanted more. I liked that she found it with Alex. Now although their scenes were definitely steamy I wasn’t thrilled with the way that Sophie wanted to be treated in bed. There were only a few lines that I thought weren’t necessary but overall they were steamy scenes. So then there is Alex who is the big bad biker boy. He is rough and doesn’t want any attachments. He found the perfect partner with Sophie but you know that real feelings will bloom between them.
Rose Bishop’s character was unbalanced. I know in the end there was a reason for her recent behavior but even before that she was crazy. I felt bad for her at least to a point. She should have gotten help and not neglected her children or spread the rumors around town that made Sophie’s life very hard.
Also for those who read Jackson Hole series you will notice Shane and Merry’s character from Too Hot to Handle. Shane is the brother of Alex.
I am reading the third book next which is with Isabella who is friends with Sophie and Lauren.
Anna Roma was picking up the pieces of her life by starting her own bed and breakfast in her home town. She will work long and hard on fixing up the house but will be getting some help by an unsuspecting person, Duke Dawson.
Duke Dawson needed some space from people and found the cabin. It was his own small place to reflect with what happened with the accident he went through. Duke was not expecting Anna in his life but she will be there making him see life a little differently.
Half Moon Hill is the sixth book to Destiny series by Toni Blake. I thought that this book was another great one in the series. I still have to read the second book to finish the series completely. I haven’t gotten it yet but I figure I will get it eventually.
I remember reading the fifth book and really not liking Anna. I figured that she would change in the sixth book and she did. It was a good thing otherwise it was going to be difficult for me to enjoy this book. She is not as cold as she was and is now finding her place in this town. She is taking charge of her future by creating this bed and breakfast. It really was a relief that she was nicer because I couldn’t stand how she was with Amy and how she almost stole Logan away. Now Duke is the other side of this equation and I found him fascinating. He was a big biker dude but he has gone through a tough time and was recouping.
The idea of this journal was interesting as it certainly parallels some aspects of Anna and Duke. The part of not taking a chance was clearly when Anna found herself to be brave and tell Duke how she actually felt which was sweet. Though with those words a happy ending is not to be given that is until Duke can let go and move on as well.
I don’t know if more will come with this series but I would definitely be willing to read more. I will be going after more of her books regardless.
Becky “Rebel” Reichert was one of the best mechanics as she could create and build most anything. She will use this skill and her business as a cover for her brothers team of ex-military men. She was treated as one of the boys but desperately wanted to be noticed by the one man she had wanted for three years, Frank.
Frank “Boss” Knight had wanted Becky from the first moment that he saw her but he kept away because of the age difference. Now with three years near each other Frank will reach his boiling point and keep Becky at his side especially when she will be in danger.
In Rides Trouble is the second book to the series Black Knight Inc by Julie Ann Walker. I wanted more after reading the book which is good since that I have checked out all the books I could to continue the series. I had said the other day that I bet this series will be scorching and I was right. The second book is even steamier than the first thanks to the pent up sexual tension that is between Becky and Frank.
The characters of Frank and Becky are people who are in your face and determined to be the leaders which makes things frustrating for both of them. I really liked Frank’s character as he was a hard-ass but he was loyal to his men and wanted to be the good man. What drove me crazy was this deception he had going with this woman he went to visit who had a kid. I didn’t think this was a real love interest but I wasn’t completely sure. At one point I thought she was a widow of one of his men that he might have lost and she needed him. No matter who the woman was I didn’t want her to interfere with Becky’s pursuit of Frank. Now Becky was as tough as nails and a spitfire but even she had her breaking moments which I thought Walker wrote well. After the kidnapping you saw a softer side of Becky who was fighting back tears as she didn’t want to show a vulnerability to the men or Frank.
Throughout the book sparks flew between Frank and Becky which made this book very entertaining to read and filled with sexual tension and yes finally hot sex between them which was building for three years.
The bad guys were by far the men who took Becky and Eve from their boat. They were not very smart with the kidnapping but they should not be counted out because there will be some trouble later on in the book.
The third book is Rev It Up with Michele and Jake.
Tessa Sheridan is back home to Destiny as her interior designs did not work out. She will find an unlikely client who is the bad boy biker that just moved next door to her. Tessa feels the attraction but with her disease she doesn’t want anyone to see her when she is down.
Lucky Romo is back in his home town which he hasn’t set foot in for almost half his life. He is making a change as he got unexpected news about a son he fathered. Going back home was hard with all that had happened.
Whisper Falls is the third book to Destiny series by Toni Blake. I have skipped the second book because that book is not at my library but I have noticed that these books really can be read on their own. I do miss out on the introduction of Mike Romo and his story but he is certainly included in this book. I am interested in the disappearance of Anna Romo. She will be making an appearance in the sixth book I found out as I sneaked and read the summary. From what I have heard about her I am interested in her story with how she disappeared and what happened.
I liked this novel just as much as the first. It was a good story and hits the emotional target with both characters. You feel for Tessa and her disease, and how she was coping with it. I was happy that she found a champion in Lucky. Their romance was unlikely but it worked. Now Lucky was one that had drawn me in. You felt bad for him because once his sister was gone he did get pushed to the side. I understand why that would be something to push a kid into rebellion but Lucky goes further. He will join a biker gang and do things he wouldn’t be proud of during that time. I liked that he made it out and with his friend Duke.
The brothers relationship was strained as they were both stubborn, I think Mike was more stubborn that Lucky, but they were able to make it work. Of course it took most of the novel for that to happen and only when Mike figured out some facts about what happened after Anna disappeared. Now there is a villain in the book that is going after Lucky and its an unlikely one but it is logical once you know why they are doing this.
Holly Lane is the next book with Sue Ann which I am surprised at since it looked liked she had a perfect life with her husband. I guess I will find out very quickly as it is the next book I am reading.
