Logan Hawkings was a billionaire and had been burned before with relationships. Though when he meets Bronte he will find himself falling hard. To make sure he wouldn’t be burned again he will test her while he keeps a distance, emotionally.
Bronte Dawson was on a free vacation but it wasn’t the paradise trip she had expected, especially when there was a hurricane. She will be rescued by a man who she found herself wanting to love but that will all change when she finds he had lied to her. Bronte will not stop loving the man but will be afraid to step into his world.
Stranded with a Billionaire is the first book to the series Billionaire Boys Club by Jessica Clare. Alright so I really liked this novel. Everything about this story is predictable but it doesn’t matter as I really liked the characters who kept the book going for me.
Logan was not a nice man and he had some trust and control issues. I didn’t really mind Logan and his control issues, frankly because it wasn’t that controlling. He needed to learn to trust that Bronte would not want his money but Logan goes about things very wrong and I liked that because it showed he wasn’t mister perfect. So then there is Bronte. She is someone who needed a break and she gets it but she doesn’t let this life consume her. It is partially because of her past with her father. I liked that she drew back from Logan but then didn’t like it at times. She was running because she was afraid of this new world she had stepped into with Logan.
The passion between them is well done and you can believe that Bronte would be swept up by Logan and his charm through the disaster. It would be hard not to form an attachment. Though I liked that Jessica Clare did not just make this into a fairy tale between the two characters. There were lies, some betrayal, still a lot of a passion, and both characters were scared to truly start something real between them.
After reading this one I am excited to read what will happen to the next set of characters. Well, I am off to read the second book to the series.
Trouble is a combination of two books written by Linda Howard. Midnight Rainbow and Diamond Bay are the first two books from the series Rescues.
Grant Sullivan was on a mission which was to rescue Jane Greer from a pack of ruthless men. He will be annoyed to be on the rescue but will soon find that Jane is more than the empty headed girl he thought she was.
Rachel Jones was shocked to find a man almost dead on the beach and she knew that she had to help him. She will rescue him and trouble quickly follows when mysterious FBI men start asking for Kell Sabin, her mystery man.
I found myself enjoying both of these books. There is a definite theme of rescue which just happened to be the name of the series. Though it’s not just these strong men who were the ones rescuing the woman. The woman play their part and are strong and smart about what needs to be done, sometimes a little impulsive but it helps in the dangerous situation they are placed in.
In each of these books the villains are evil and are desperate to get what they want. One is a microfilm and the other is a person to finish off. The villains are ruthless but the good guys are very good at their job.
The epilogue in the second book showed a happy ending for the two couples so I am guessing their part in the series is over. There are two more books to the series but I have a feeling they might be hard to get to since they were written in the 80’s. I will be on the look out but for now there are always more books from Linda Howard that I can try.
Dune Cates has loved the game of volleyball since he was a kid. He has become a celebrity in the game but with age he was finding it hard to keep going. Dune will be coming back home to rest up and will find himself connecting with Sophie once again. He will want to protect her and with every moment he stays close he will be falling harder and harder for her.
Sophie Saunders knew that she was shy and not quite stable on her feet but she was going to do something about it. Sophie will be working her way through the boardwalk but will be sidetracked when she will come face to face with Dune once again. She has had a crush on him for years and she will soon learn what it will be like to love the man.
No Strings Attached is the second book to the series Barefoot William from Kate Angell. This one had a little more humor to its pages thanks in most part to Sophie who was a very shy young woman and who was also a klutz but she had heart and people loved her. She finds her niche in the town and her place later on in the book which made her stronger. I loved the job she took as it completed her. Dune was a strong man and very tall especially when it comes to Sophie. He was a man that smiled easily and played hard. I loved his protective side with Sophie and that he let her spread her wings even though he was worried.
Once again their story was not the only one being told. There was Mac and Jenna who were nothing but opposites. There was a lot of animosity that came from being by each other but there was also a lot of passion. Then there was also Zane and Tori but their story was a very short one being told and the focus went back to the main couple.
Now there was plenty of sexual tension and sex throughout the book with Dune and Sophie. It was sweet that he wanted to protect her all at the same time but it wasn’t all about the sex. The feud came back into play and more of the story came out with what happened and how things could have changed if certain things were known sooner. It was a sweet wrap up with the feud but it leaves me to wonder if more books will be coming from the Barefoot William series.
Shaye Cates believes in family and fun. She helps run the boardwalk that her family owns but now she has to deal with her nemesis in order to save her home. She will be baffled when feelings start to intertwine among her interaction with Trace.
Trace Saunders is all about business and he has no time for the flighty and sneaky Shaye Cates but he had to work with her. Trace will not back down when dealing with her but he will find much more as he keeps to her side.
No Tan Lines is the first book to the series Barefoot William. Kate Angell is a new author I found and I have to say I liked the book. It was a little quirky with the characters that populated the book but they were fun loving people. I was able to grab the second book to the series and will be reading that one next.
The book had a light feel to it especially as it was set on the beach. I liked how Angell created a background with this family feud and she did it well. There is a sense of cruelty almost that stems from the feud and Trace and Shaye fall victim to it as they are not their best with each other. Of course opposites do attract and they will sizzle across the pages when they find that passion in each others arms.
Throughout the book there are different characters being focused on and I fell in love with Nicole and Kai as they found a way to be together. Then there was Dune and Sophie who were in the charity volleyball tournament. There was something there but nothing happened. Angell will be giving the couple another chance as they will be in the second book and the primary focus.
Megan Lambert is a sales manger for her radio station and is good at her job. As a widow of three years Megan put her mind into work. But life is going to tilt as Josh is thrusted back into her life. With a kiss on the day before her wedding Josh created turmoil in her life but what scared her was her feelings for him.
Josh Bennett is a major advertiser and has worked his way up. He is good at getting what he wants except for Megan but that will change. Josh gave her those three years but now is when he will show Megan what she means to him.
Reading Sandra Brown is always a love story that you will want to finish from the very start. Temptation’s Kiss is an easy going story but with two characters who fight every step. As a reader you will like that Megan’s drive to stay away and not to melt but to keep a conscious in regards to Josh.
Temptation’s Kiss is a short novel, just one of many in Sandra Brown’s collection.
Looking at the back of the cover I read the summary and for a moment I was confused. I didn’t remember Liam being talked about but soon I found he was another one of the cousins but with a higher rank. Enchanted is the fourth and final book by Nora Roberts in The Donovan Legacy series.
Liam Donovan is a witch and has the ability to hear thoughts and change into an animal shape. His shape he prefers is wolf which will let him get closer to his new neighbor Rowan Murray. Rowan is a woman who ran away and is looking for who she is.
The fourth book was fun to read. Enchanted had me cheering for the two character to finally be with each other.
I liked that Liam’s parents and the rest of the cousins made an appearance in the book. Throughout the whole book I wondered what was the secret that Liam had to tell Rowan. If it was being a witch that is said but there is something else.
Roberts will have you curious and need to finish the book to find out what Liam has been hiding. The secret will we a blessing and make the ending that much sweeter.
The Donovan Legacy series was fun to read with the modern day witches with these four cousins.
The eighth book of Kerrelyn Sparks is the latest of the series Love At Stake.
The Plot of Vampire and the Virgin:
“FBI psychologist Olivia Sotris was looking for a cool ocean breeze, sand between her toes, and a break from her crazy, chaotic, and sometimes all-too-dangerous life. But when she escaped to the small Greek island of Patmos, all she got were medding grandmothers trying to marry her off. Can’t they see that none of the men around her interests her-except Robby MacKay?
Robby needs to cool off, too, since all he can think about it revenge on the Malcontent bloodsuckers who once held him captive-but then he meets Olivia, the beauty with wild curls and a tempting smile. When a deadly criminal from a case back home tracks her down, Robby will have to save her life-along with giving her a first time she’ll never forget…”
The latest edition is a hit. I love reading about Robby. Sparks gives humor to her characters and a sense that they belong together. The characters are dynamic and the plot is fantastic. Now all I am wondering about is her next book. When will it be out and who will it be about?
For those who have read the books they know the character Connor and for me I can’t wait for him to find his true love.
