Jackson Stone had found out some life changing news, his whole life had been a lie. Jackson will find three brothers he never knew, one of them was his twin. He will try to make a relationship with them even as they were weary, though he will get some help from Tara.
Tara Kent had finally completed her business degree and had gotten a promotion at work. Her world will change once again when she meets Jackson, Clay’s twin.
Dirty Sexy Sinner is the fourth book to the series Dirty Sexy by Carly Phillips and Erika Wilde. This last book was enjoyable and a good ending to this steamy series.
Jackson’s character was not the rich kid his brothers had thought him to be. He had his own crappy childhood that had not been filled with love. I wanted to give Jackson a hug when his brothers rejected him, but that was only at the beginning. These Kincaid brothers were not easily trusting. It was interesting that Jackson was Clay’s twin and pretty tragic with how Jackson had been taken away from his twin. Despite it all he turned out well adjusted, just like his brothers. Tara’s character was a young woman who had her tragedy early on in her life. She rose above her own tragedy and was able to make something of her life. I loved Tara’s spunk but she was still very insecure, Jackson will help with that insecurity.
The ending was very sappy but I loved it. The authors gave a conclusion to these brothers and their wives.
Clay Kincaid helped those who needed it, but he didn’t like being acknowledge for his good deed. He will find another woman to help but something about Samantha will have him wanting more.
Samantha Jamieson had enough of her controlling parents. She wanted a way out so she ran away from home hoping that she could experience life. She will get some help from Clay.
Dirty Sexy Saint is the first book to the series Dirty Sexy by Carly Phillips and Erika Wilde. I really enjoyed this first book to the series, it stayed true to its title. I had read some of Carly Phillips but I really fell in love with her writing when I read the Dare to Love series.
Clay’s character was certainly a saint when helping others but he was more a sinner when it came to women. Clay had a bad childhood but despite it all he wanted to tried to help those around him. I liked that he gave Samantha a chance even though he knew that she didn’t belong, which will in turn help her make a decision. Samantha’s character was a very privileged woman. She had everything she wanted except for freedom. I liked that she wanted a way out. She wanted to be her own person, not just a member of her family. She might not have excelled perfectly at the new job but she was excited to learn.
Her family were a bit much with wanting to keep her in that perfect life they had planned out for her. I did like that not all was lost for Samantha to have a relationship with her family.
Olivia Beckett loved her boyfriend but found that he was changing before her eyes. No longer was he smiling and laughing but now had a cruel smirk and a violent streak. She will be saved one night by a man who worked at a college bar. Olivia’s life will be quickly spinning out of control but she will find a way to survive with Bash’s help.
Sebastian “Bash” McDaniels wanted out of Boston and he was going to get there with his boxing career. Though things will get complicated when he goes out of his way to help a girl who was being abused by her boyfriend.
Fix You: Bash and Olivia is the first book to the series the McDaniels Brothers by Christine Bell. This was a free book on amazon and it was a really great book, in fact I loved it. I sat down and read through the book in one sitting.
Olivia’s character was a sweet young woman who was in a bad relationship. Now even though she did not get away at the first sign of trouble, she did her best to get help. While doing that she grew more of a backbone. Bash’s character was a man who had a troubled past but was doing his best to make something of himself. I liked that Bash thought to help Olivia with no hesitation. He just went in and helped. It was unfair with how Bash was treated but understandable since Andy’s father was important in society. Now with Bash and Olivia I loved how they came to be. They were completely the opposite of each but they worked in the sweetest way.
Andy, Olivia’s boyfriend, was a piece of work. He was certainly the villain of the story and I was really hoping that Christine Bell would make sure that Andy got in trouble. I really loved the surprise at the end which gave the justice that was needed for Bash.
Since I loved this book so much I bought Matty’s and Reid story. My reading is going a little slow right now with tax season but I will be reading Matty’s story next.
Jemima Jane “JJ” Ericson has been in love with Ethan for as long as she could remember. She knew that she could never have him that way which was why she remained his best friend. Though things will change when their ex’s start to cause trouble.
Ethan Weston lived his life for his daughter and when that livelihood was being threatened he knew to act quickly. He will find the solution with his best friend, though things will get quickly complicated when he starts to notice JJ as a woman.
Some Girls Lie is the fourth book to the series Outback Heat by Amy Andrews. Out of all the books I would have to say that this one was my favorite. I really liked JJ and Ethan’s story.
Ethan’s character was the work hard, driven man who was devoted to his daughter. You couldn’t fault that about his character. Though what you could find fault with the man was that he could not see who would be good for him. Ethan kept fighting his attraction to JJ once they slept together which was because he didn’t believe in love any more. Then there is JJ’s character. She was again a hard worker and loyal friend. She always tried to take the high road and protect those she loved. I liked that she was finally able to be with Ethan even if it was not on a permanent basis. Although there is one part in the book that will make you want to hit Ethan really hard and cheer JJ who finally expressed her feelings. What surprised me about JJ was her back story which had been about domestic abuse from her ex-husband. Well he will be back in the picture and up to no good.
Delia (Ethan’s ex and Connie’s mother) was a piece of work and she was making life difficult, which made it hard to like her. Things will change though and at last Delia will figure out what truly needs to change, her, otherwise she was going to loose her daughter forever.
Mac wanted Delilah from the moment that he had seen her but he had to stay away. He did not want to repeat past mistakes, but then Mac will have to help Delilah and he will find himself in close proximity to her. For Mac it will be hard to concentrate but in order to keep Delilah and her uncle safe, Mac had to keep his head in the mission.
Delilah had fallen in love with Mac but she knew he was just not interested. Though when Delilah’s uncle is taken she goes to the Black Knights, specifically to Mac, for help. She will be grateful for the help especially when she finds out there is much more to her uncle’s kidnapping.
Hell for Leather is the sixth book to the series Black Knights Inc by Julie Ann Walker. Its been awhile since I picked up a book from the author and I found myself not having a problem following along. Though I will say it took me a little time to get back into the book. It was mostly because I was trying to remember the other characters that were being mentioned in the book. Once I let go of that notion I sat back and enjoyed the book, and it was very enjoyable.
I found Mac’s character likable and a badass, but was a little annoying with his need not to fall for Delilah especially when you find out the reason he needs to stay away. I can understand his reasoning especially when you get the whole story but every situation is different. Mac can’t see beyond what had happened to him in the past. Then there is Delilah who is a vibrant woman but she had gone through a lot within the past couple of years. I liked that she stays strong but inside she is an emotional mess. That made her feel real.
Well there is some definite action that comes to the Black Knights thanks to Delilah. Through the first half of the book I was wondering why would the bad guys had taken Delilah’s uncle. The truth will be revealed which made sense for why the bad guys were going after the uncle and Delilah.
Former Army Special Forces Sgt. Marco Vieri was back home due to an injury and was trying to get his life back. Though all he wanted was his old life. Things will get turned around when he finds his best friends sister coming back home and working in the same bar. He will suddenly not see his best friends little sister but a woman.
Alyssa Scott was back home fresh out of college and ready to work. She gets a job at Whiskey’s where Marco Vieri worked, the man she had loved for many years. She will try to pursue a relationship with him but it will not be an easy task as Marco has walls built up that she will have to get around.
Her Forbidden Hero is the first book to the series Hero by Laura Kaye. So I liked the book but I felt at times it didn’t hold my attention.
The character of Alyssa bugged me a little as I felt she was a little naive when it came to Marco. She thought nothing had changed, that he was the same man she knew when she was a kid. But he had gone to war and survived an injury. Inside Marco he was broken. She does start to understand that and I do like her character especially as she is a fighter and wants to do things on her own. I also appreciated knowing about Alyssa’s past which played a big part of who she had become. So Marco’s character as I said is a little broken from all that he had gone through but he was not finished. He was like a man just walking through life and it took Alyssa to wake him up.
Brady is also introduced in this book who is Alyssa’s big brother. Brady’s story is the second and final book which I will be reading next.
Lauren Foster was looking for a night of sex. She had not expected that night would involve Jake Davis who was a firefighter and her ex husbands good friend.
Jake Davis was told by his adult daughter to get out and find someone. Jake will take the advice and find himself looking at Lauren, a local librarian.
Fanning the Flames is the first book to the series Girls Night Out by Victoria Dahl. I liked the book but I felt that it should have been longer. This was a novella under one hundred pages.
The story was about two characters who were middle aged and will be lusting after each other. I was happy to read that Jake, who was forty seven, was wanting Lauren who was a few years younger than him. He was not looking for a twenty something girl. Though as I said before I wanted more, I wanted them to find love with each other and have that struggle but find their way back together. Dahl did hit those points it was just really quick. I guess it seemed just too short for me to really love either character, I liked them just wasn’t loving them.
I, however, am going to read their next two books to the series which are full lengths book. The second book is with Sophie who was mentioned in this book.
