Adam Sommerville was not looking for love, he had been happy with his bachelor status. He liked dating but he will start to look towards Isabella, the librarian, and wonder if he wanted more with her.
Isabella Presley had wanted Adam for years but she knew that she never had a chance with him. Then she takes a chance to ask him advice on getting men and she will find his whole attention on her.
A Buckhorn Bachelor is the eighth book of the series Buckhorn Brothers by Lori Foster. I really liked reading this novella. It has been fun reading about the next generation, and of course there was the occasional appearance of an original brother.
Adam was a player but he wasn’t one who went about it the wrong way. He was a kind man who wasn’t ready for commitment, though he was great with kids. I liked that he took a chance and got to know Isabella. Isabella was a character with her southern drawl and outrageous lust for Adam. She was playing a game due to Amber’s insistence but I did like that she would stand up and do what she wanted. She knew her own mind but she had to take a chance.
Now there is a character, Amber, who had been playing matchmaker. I like Amber but I felt a little annoyed by her matchmaking skills. I think she was a little too pushy with Adam and Isabella. Though I am interested in reading Amber’s story who will be with Noel. It will be interesting to read as I would bet Noel will turn the tables on Amber and her matchmaking skills.
Chris was the go to guy when it came to running the operation but with his personal life he was at a loss. He was especially confused when he wanted Matt but he knew that he could not share what he does for a living.
What Chris Wants is the last story to the series Edge of Honor by Lori Foster. This story was a novella and I had been looking forward to this story. I have to say it wasn’t my favorite. I think there was promise of something there but Lori Foster did not deliver on this one.
I found that the characters were not well developed. I wanted more from them, for them to have a relationship but it definitely didn’t play out that way.
One thing I liked was that Foster lets the reader know that the other couples from the books were all happy in their relationships.
Natalie loved having friends with benefits with her neighbor but soon it will change. Jett will start to want more than just sex. Natalie is not sure she wants that but she didn’t want Jett out of her life.
Ready, Set, Jett is the prologue in the series Men Who Walk the Edge of Honor by Lori Foster. This was a quick and fun story. It was less on the danger side than the other books in the series. Though there was some danger that was happening, the characters just didn’t know it was going on.
Natalie’s character did not want to get close to anyone. She had trust issues and she kept her secrets close to her. She liked Jett because it was an easy relationship, she was just using Jett for sex. I liked that Natalie was confident to do that. Though I was also happy that Natalie was discovering that she had true feelings for Jett. With Jett’s character he was a man on a mission. He wanted Natalie, but he wanted her more than friends with benefits. I liked that Jett was a take charge kind of man but he was also generous.
So I have read the rest of the series with the exception of the last book which is a novella. I will be reading that next.
Lieutenant Colonel Hamilton Wulf was on leave to see Liv to give her bad news but he was also there to bring her something more. It will take everything that Ham has to convince Liv to take a chance on them.
Liv Avery wanted a life outside of the military, but it was difficult with her father and the man she loved were in the air force. When bad news comes her way Liv will have to put trust in the man she loved and take a chance.
An Honorable Man is part of a collection called Men of Courage. I decided after reading Outrageous I wanted to find another book from Lori Foster that I have not read. I didn’t have any doubt that I wouldn’t like the book as I do like most of her novels. Well I really liked this book. It was short but had that emotional pull that you wanted.
I liked that Liv was doing what she wanted and trying to move on. She was tired of playing second to the career of the man that she wanted. Your heart hurts for Liv as it was clear she had been hurt by the men in her life, emotional hurt. I liked that Foster wrote Ham to be aware of the struggles Liv was having. I instantly liked Ham because he was different from her father. He wanted a wife, kids and the military and he was determined to make it work.
I think that the story could have been flushed out more but I felt satisfied with how it was written.
Judd Sanders was undercover as a stripper. His job was to get close to one man who ran the illegal business but there will be a woman that gets in the way. Judd will be annoyed by Emily’s behavior but he knows he has to protect her.
Emily Cooper wanted revenge against the man that was responsible for selling her brother a gun. She will find help in a stripper but will find that Judd is not all that he seems.
Outrageous is a novel by Lori Foster. This book was one of the first novels by Foster. Now I liked it, but it wasn’t my favorite of her stories. It took me some time to truly get into the story and when that happened I felt that I wanted more with the characters. I wanted to know more about them, to flush out more detail about them. I thought that the plot was fun and a little silly with Judd being undercover and having to play a stripper. Then there is Emily who is a socialite but not really. She is a more down to earth than her wealthy parents.
Even though this one wasn’t my favorite I will still be completely willing to read more from Lori Foster as the majority of her books I have really loved.
Double the Pleasure is a collection of four stories by four different authors. My drive to read this book was because of Lori Foster’s novella Deuces Wild. This novella is part of the series Winston Brothers and Cousins. I loved this series especially the story that had Joe in it. I liked this novella. It was short but overall it was good. The story was about twin brothers and Hart had to leave but needed Dex to stay and pretend to be him. The problem happens when Dex’s meets and girl and she thinks that he is Hart, and Dex goes along with the lie. I felt that the girl forgave a little too easily but it had to be done quickly with the story being a novella. I liked the twin brothers. With reading Dex’s story I am intrigued with Hart and what was going on with the girl he had been with then left. It might be awhile before I find his story but I will be on the look out for it.
The other authors and their stories are The Lucy of the Irish by Deirdre Martin, which is about a carpenter who has the choice of going home to Ireland or sticking around in New York. With this one I wished that it was a book because then you would have gotten to really know the characters. You got to know them but it felt way to quick. The next book is Your Room or Mine? by Jacquie D’ Alessandro. This one is all about coworkers who judge each other to quickly but with a weekend to bond things will heat up. I liked the story. Once again I thought it was too short but it was enjoyable. The last book of the collection is Double the Danger by Penny McCall which is with an FBI agent and witness protection. Personally I wasn’t that into the book. I read it but it didn’t really thrill me.
Overall I will have to say that this collection was an enjoyable read.
Lucy wanted passion and she was determined to get that passion from a one night stand, then Bram stops her. She will be shocked when Bram offers her a week together where he will show her what she had missed. Lucy was hesitant but will agree because the heat between them was undeniable.
Bram was furious that Lucy wanted to have an affair with someone else. He wanted that man to be him and him alone as he had loved Lucy for years. Bram was determined to show Lucy that they could work together by giving her a week of passion.
Luring Lucy is a novella by Lori Foster. This was a good quick and steamy novella that was enjoyable to read. I liked these characters but they were certainly not drawn out a much as they could have been. Though being a novella Foster does a good job with describing the characters and their traits.
So this book is pretty much about sex. There is not a lot of deep thinking but I liked the characters which made the story enjoyable. These characters were about 40 and one had already made the leap to 40. A lot of the stories I read are with couples who are in their twenties or with the romance novels its usually debutantes and the heroes are getting closer to their thirties. I liked that the characters were more mature and it gave their second chance that much sweeter.
