Amy Comfort moved to the small town after a horrific incident in Seattle. She was looking for a quiet life so she could sell houses and write her romance novel. Then when her aunt becomes engaged and Amy is worried about the fiance. She will ask Owen to investigate him which will bring them a lot closer.
Owen Sweet wanted Amy from the moment he saw her. Owen will take the subtle approach when it comes to Amy but then things will get complicated when she needs his help as a private investigator. He will take the job and hope to get closer to Amy.
Connecting Rooms is a novel by Jayne Ann Krentz. I have read many books from Krentz and have liked them all, some more than others but they have all been enjoyable. It feels like its been a while since I picked up a book from Krentz and I will say it was fun coming back to the author. I thought this book was enjoyable and one that went very quick.
Amy’s character was a woman who was healing after a tragic event and moving on in her life. I thought she was funny with her imagination which came from her being a writer. Owen’s character was a private investigator and he really was a good guy but he wasn’t being assertiveness enough. That will change when he will show Amy that he does want her. The chemistry between the characters is subtle until Owen steps it up a notch and really shows Amy he wants her. I liked them together.
The mystery was good because I was thought I had the perfect suspect, but I was wrong. It is sometimes the most logical choice.
I don’t know what my next book from Jayne Ann Krentz will be but I will be on the lookout for one.
Katherine Inskip needed a vacation and her friends decided to help her. They will arrange for Katherine to have a vacation for one month on an island. Katherine will be upset but will find that the island might be interesting especially with the captivating Jared Hawthorne.
I liked the story. It was definitely a quick read for me. I found Katherine’s character entertaining with her attitude. She was not a mean person just overworked. I liked Jared’s character. He was a confident man, a little cocky, but overall a good man. Within the book there is a mystery with what is happening on the island which is what Katherine will stumble upon.
Margaret Lark has to go to her father who is dating her ex’s mother. She doesn’t want anything to do with her ex, Rafe Cassidy, as she had been hurt a year ago. She didn’t want to reopen that wound but Rafe will not let her forget what they had and he will be persistent.
I really liked the third book which concludes the trilogy. I liked Margaret’s character who was fueled by anger still over the man that she had loved. I liked that she fought hard to keep her guard up around him as she did not want to be pulled back in. Rafe’s character was the smooth one with a killer instinct. Though you will find that Rafe is not quite the ruthless business man he once was. So the story was simple but it kept me interested with the characters and with a side mystery. Someone was leaking information to the enemy and Rafe will have to find out who. The choices are limited so you could guess easily but I liked it nevertheless.
Lucy Sheridan was dragged out of a party by the guy she had a crush on and was humiliated in front of all kids there. Now thirteen years later Lucy will find herself once again being rescued without being asked. She will learn the truth of that night and find that there is more to the story.
Mason Fletcher played knight in shinning armor for Lucy thirteen year ago because of what he heard was going to happen to her. Mason stopped the attack and saved Lucy that night. He will save her again thirteen years later only to find that they will be pulled into bigger danger.
River Road is a standalone novel from Jayne Ann Krentz. I really enjoyed the novel as it was a well written thriller. There were lots of twist and turns throughout the novel that kept you on your toes. I was with it the whole way wanting to find out what would have happened to Lucy if Mason didn’t step in and who was the other person helping Tristan at the time. It was hard to guess throughout the book as Krentz does a good job at making many look to be the bad guy but in reality all those people were afraid of that person or being blackmailed. The villain behind the scenes surprised me, well at least one of them.
I have to say that I really liked the characters of Lucy and Mason. They are at odds with each other but there is a passion that surrounds them especially in time of danger. Now I have to say that when the secret of what was in store for Lucy was revealed around the middle of the book it was pretty shocking. The villain was truly evil but he gets what was coming to him by an unsuspecting person.
Now this wasn’t my normal romance that I have been reading but there was certainly a lot of passion between the two characters that would keep you warm at night. Jayne Ann Krentz will always keep me reading.
Caleb Ventures is a man who prides himself in making the right decisions. He has avoided all trials of being a burden to his family and to stay above scandals which would haunt him like the past which follows him. But when it comes to Serenity he takes a step back while taking two steps forward. He is in over his head but something is telling him to believe in her and forgive his past. To stand up for the woman who gave birth to him.
Serenity Makepeace is her towns only child born directly in town. She has no real parents but many friends who had taught her through the years. Serenity wants to help her town and that means to get the business to grow. She finds help from Caleb but problems start happening when she is blackmailed.
Jayne Ann Krentz is a favorite of mine but I have to say Hidden Talents had me stuck at the beginning. I liked the plot and characters but it wasn’t flowing for me as well. Then you get into the story and the plot holds you and wouldn’t let go. I wanted to know who was the blackmailer and would our two characters find that happiness.
I liked that the blackmail came up again from the past to now a new person which kept it real for this family to get over with. The blackmailer is of course the same person which was another link but Krentz will try to mislead the reader.
The villain/blackmailer I had a feeling but until the end you know for sure. I liked the outcome as it was not easy love story. There were bumps and mystery that kept the book from an easy going novel and kept you involved.
Jayne Ann Krentz creates the Ladies and Legends Trilogy. The second book of the series is The Adventurer.
Sarah Fleetwood wants adventure and she is finding it with her own hero Gideon Trace. Known as a romance writer Sarah has had many fantasies meeting Gideon but when she comes face to face she is not disappointed.
Gideon Trace didn’t expect to see Sarah but somehow he got wrangled into to her enthusiastic adventure to find her families jewels on a very old map. With danger making its presence known and passion in the air Gideon and Sarah are in for a wild ride.
Krentz created this series to be centered on three best friends who will end up finding love on the way with adventure. The Adventurer is the second book of the series. The Pirate (the first book) and The Cowboy (the third and final book).
Krentz creates the danger to be thrilling but it comes subtly as the story progresses. And like many romance novels the passion will flare between Gideon and Sarah which will leave the reader breathless.
Fallon Jones is used to mystery, to tight situations that needs his investigation abilities and his other abilities that give some worry on how powerful he is.
Isabella Valdez is in trouble. Men are following her and she needs an out. Her only hope is Scargill Cove. Following her intuition she goes there and quickly gets a job with Fallon Jones.
Together they will find the men who are chasing her and Fallon will have some of his past come back to haunt him. With Isabella’s help Fallon will find some closure.
A newest addition to the Arcane Society series is always a fun read. Jayne Ann Krentz delivers her characters over and over. I loved that this time Fallon was in the for front. I had been waiting for his time and it was not a disappointing story to read.
Isabella’s character was fun and adventurous just the opposite of Fallon.
The Arcane Society Series is one of the more unique ones I have read and Krentz keeps it interesting especially now that there are objects which are coming forward from the past and heading to the future in her other series.
The second book, Dawn in Eclipse Bay, of the the series Eclipse Bay is fun and entertaining to read by Jayne Ann Krentz. A good follow-up to the first book of the series.
As Rafe and Hannah find love together the feud is being let go but there will be another feud between Gabe Madison and Lillian Harte the older siblings of their families. Gabe wanted to make something of himself and he did but now that he was richer he wanted a wife. Lillian seemed like the perfect solution with her matchmaker business. But things were not meant to be with the matchmaking business. Gabe and Lillian found themselves at odds but that will not stop them from finding a new relationship with each other. But there are problems that are going to be happening when the two of them get back to Eclipse Bay.
I loved the first book with how the feuding Madison’s and Hartes came together but I loved it when Gabe and Lillian were brought together creating their own new relationship.
Gabe is a fun character that colaborates with Lillian. There relationship is steamy and filled with a lot of wit. The crazy characters are still around like AZ who brings humor to the book. Krentz does a good job creating the feud with the families and the dangers of blackmailers.
