Christian Duvall was determined to be the Lord of the South. All he needed to do was defeat any challengers as Anthony, the present lord, was stepping down. Although, Christian will find that Anthony will be a lot of trouble especially with the woman Christian wanted.
Natalie Vivant Gaudet was a forensic accountant who was working for Anthony but only because he had blackmailed her. She will be working at the office when Christian walks into the office. Natalie will instantly want Christian and she will do what she can to protect him.
Christian is the tenth book to the series Vampires in America by D.B. Reynolds. I really loved this book. I wasn’t sure how I would like Christian since his sire was Mathilda who was very evil. Christian for me was a character I could easily like. He was a warrior and had good intentions with wanting to be the Lord of the South. He was also very strong, much stronger than any other vampire had known. This helped with the fight scenes which were in the book and the challenges, and those fight scenes were intense. Natalie was a smart woman being a forensic account, which I loved. I thought that in the beginning she was a little too much with the desire for Christian but I of course wanted them together. I did like that she was a woman who could handle herself. She was by no means like Cyn but she could handle some of the bad things that had come her way.
Anthony was a very devious lord. I disliked him right away as he tried to cheat and used his vampire powers to do that. I was horrified that he wanted Natalie and would use his mind control to make her want him. Luckily Christian was a strong enough vampire to stop Anthony before Natalie’s fate was sealed.
Carina Conte has loved Max since she could remember but she had to forget about him and move on. It was easy until her brother decided that she should shadow Max as she started into the family business.
Max Grey knew that Carina was off limits as she was his best friends sister so he will keep those thoughts to himself. That is until he finds himself too captivated with Carina that he can’t keep his hands to himself and with one scorching night together all things will change.
The Marriage Mistake is the third book to the series Marriage to a Billionaire by Jennifer Probst. As this was the first book I had no expectations other than hoping I would like the book and I thought Jennifer Probst wrote an interesting story that captured my attention. I wanted to know more about these other characters and what happened in their stories.
This book falls to family dynamic as this is a very Italian family and I liked them. They were a little old fashioned but that was how these characters were written to be. I liked that Carina was breaking free of the mold and trying to become the woman she was meant to be, instead of what her family expected. Max is a man with a past he doesn’t want repeated. He doesn’t feel like he is good enough for Carina and keeps all relationships very easy. Chemistry for these characters is not a problem but it only comes alive when they are angry or at least that is how it starts and it will be scorching between them.
What was interesting was this book of spells that Carina used and this book was used before in the previous books for the two main woman who were looking for the right man. I liked the idea of the spells but I definitely wouldn’t say this was supernatural, it just had a small supernatural spin to it. From how the book ended with the women commenting on the book Julietta will find herself reciting a spell like the others. I will find out soon as I am reading Julietta’s story next.
Grace Brooks is at a loss. Her hopes of finding a permanent job that her parents would be proud of is becoming unlikely and her money supply has dwindle to almost nothing. But then Grace gets a break with a job as a dog walker which is not what she expects especially as she starts to become the nanny of the dog owners son. Grace thanks her lucky stars at the job and being close to Dr. Josh Scott is no hardship.
Dr. Josh Scott has no time to breath let alone spend time with his son or sister with the amount of time his patients take. He will see Grace as a savior as she handles the chaos that is in his life. Both know they can’t get involved but Josh cannot get Grace out of his mind. He will stay away as much as he can but a man can only take so much.
Forever and a Day is the sixth book to the Lucky Harbor series. This is definitely a drama that Jill Shalvis writes but a drama done right. I have loved this series since the first book and have continue to do so. Shalvis writes these stories with real characters. The family dynamics feel like a real family going through those heartaches which makes you connect with those characters. The evil boyfriend to Josh’s sister even felt real as you wanted to smack him for his behavior as you know he is going to hurt Anna. But its not all about the family drama as Shalvis will write Grace and Josh’s scenes to be nothing but steamy as they finally get together.
As I concluded this book I saw this was the last one available but I have a feeling the Lucky Harbor series is far from done. Of course now comes the question is who is to be next?
When tragedy strikes Katie revalates her life. She wants adventure and to feel more than being an accountant. She takes the job in the wilderness as an office manager. She wishes upon a star for a night of sex which went along with her new self and she will get her wish in the form of Cam Wilder.
Cam Wilder is now back after a year. He has given up woman and is still badly hurt but soon things are going to be turned upside down when he meets Katie. Soon he wants to get her in the sack but when the option of more comes around he flees and doesn’t know what he wants.
After reading one of the books by Jill Shalvis I found her writing fun to read as she incorporates her characters to be witty, funny and sarcastic. The characters in Instant Attraction are no exception. Katie and Cam fight battles between each other which will wind them up on a bed.
Instant Attraction is the first book in the series Wilder Adventures. The three brothers will be the focus of this series and their sex appeal to the women who happen to land in their lives.
Finding new authors is always an interesting process. You hope that one book will peak your interest. Get A Clue by Jill Shalvis certainly did. Her writing is fun, sexy, smart, wicked in a sense and just a lot of entertainment.
Breanne Mooreland was done with men. No more she wanted to shout. After her third engagement ended with her at the alter she did not want them. But finding a man in her honeymoon suite was an intriguing display of man.
Cooper Scott had to have time that is what they all said so he took time. Never did he expect to find a woman staring at him while he was in the shower.
Breanne and Cooper start off to an interesting start as they are stuck at the cabin with no way of leaving and to make things worse a man turns up dead. Cooper is off to work again while Breanne stays by his side. But who killed this man?
The characters in this story made the story. I love how they intertwined with the plot which was heated with sensual desire as murder and snow keeps everyone on edge. I think one of the best parts of the book is the humor which Jill Shalvis brings to the pages. You will laugh along with the tough cop and the feisty bride to be who was left at the alter and the rest of the staff which are hiding more than expected.
Get A Clue was actually a great romance and mystery that leaves you entertained from beginning to end.
This is a collection of three books in the series Dream Trilogy. Three young friends who have grown up together will stand together as women and help each other find their dreams.

He thinks that she is just living life normal but soon he will find that he is wrong. The young carefree girl is gone. He finds her riveting and wants to get to know her better but there will be troubles coming their way.
This was a fantastic series to read. Roberts lets in the reader with each book letting you understand a new girl. In each book Roberts also gives a bit of the past for the main girl in the book. You get to know the person better which will let you connect. Each friend is completely different but have stayed best friends through it all.
Each character had a lot of wit and humor that packed a punch when you read. The series was fun to read and worth picking up.
Glancing at the books I found the book Impulse by Nora Roberts and on a whim I took the book. It is a very short book which is something that seemed perfect for right now.
“For once in her life, Rebecca Malone decided to follow her impulses, jettison the familiar and head to Greece to find adventure! So when a sexy stranger began to romance her, she couldn’t resist playing the sophisticated, well-traveled woman. However, falling in love with Stephen Nickodemus was not part of the plan! How on earth could she explain to the man she’d given her heart to that she wasn’t the woman he’d believed her to be? And then convince him that she was still the woman he loved…”
Since the book was only about hundred pages I zipped right through. Impulse was a quick pace romance with a little adventure mixed in for the character, Rebecca Malone. It was a very heartwarming story. I loved how she found what was missing in her life and went to find something. That something was of course love and finding herself. The story makes you believe love does conqueror if you try and find it.
