Well Built

Kyle Coleman wanted to do what was right for his mother but by doing that he was going to crush the dreams of the woman he had loved ten years ago. He will find a way to help her and find that his feelings never really went away.

Ella Fisher wanted the building next to her fathers store. She had a dream for her business but it will be interrupted when the man she had loved put a stop to her dream. She will learn to adjust but it will bring a lot of old feelings to the surface.

Well Built is the third book to the series Book Boyfriend by Carly Phillips and Erika Wilde. I really liked this novel. It was another quick and easy read that was filled with steamy scenes. Kyle and Ella have sexual chemistry that sizzles the pages.

Kyle was a man who had nothing and worked hard to build his life. He had everything, then when he saw the woman he loved it was a sign for him to try again. He was very determined to win Ella, at least after the auction. He wanted a second chance and he used their chemistry to make sure that happened and they had a lot of steamy chemistry. Ella was a young woman who wanted more but she didn’t really get out of her comfort zone to do more. I liked that she was starting to spread her wings some but she needed to take that final step.

I wish there was more on Gwen and at least her getting some responsibility but it did not happen. I did like that the father did show that he could change.

I am reading the last book of the series, Rock Solid, next.

Faking It

Max Sterling loved his job and his life but his mother would not leave him alone when it cam to his personal life. She thought he needed a wife, then something changed for Max. He will find out that woman he had been lusting after was not truly engaged. With the help of Hailey he will let his mom think he has changed as he steps in as Hailey’s fake fiance.

Hailey Ellison had been hurt by her last boyfriend and as a match maker she needed to show that she had a steady relationship. She created a fake fiance but she will be shocked when Max will step up and play the part.

Faking It is the second book to the series Book Boyfriend by Carly Phillips and Erika Wilde. This was another fun story that was easy to read, steamy and entertaining.

Max was a good man who loved his family and friends. He was a charming and smooth talking man but he was genuinely a good man. He was content with his life but when he meets Hailey he knew that he wanted more. I love that he was falling hard fast.  Hailey was a woman who had lived through tragedy and was still healing over criticism that had cut deep, which made her self conscious. But she was determined to make something of herself and she did. When she interacted with Max, a playful side came out. I really loved them together because they made sense and balanced each other.

I did want more with Addison. I think I wanted to see her get more in trouble and a little more justice but at least it was served.

I am reading Well Built next.

Big Shot

Wes Sinclair was adamant about winning the bet which he won fair and square. When he won he got Natalie to be his slave for two weeks. He will find ways to drive Natalie crazy but she will turn the tables on him until they both give in to desire.

Natalie Prescott was determined to win the bet she made with Wes but in the end she will lose, though things will quickly change between them. Natalie will find herself losing the bet but getting much closer to Wes.

Big Shot is the first book to the series Book Boyfriend by Carly Phillips. I really enjoyed this light and steamy read from Carly Phillips. Its a book that you can just sit down and read and enjoy the banter between Wes and Natalie.

Wes was an egotistical male but you could not help and like him. I wanted him to take a chance and just be honest with Natalie but it is hard to cross that boundary. I was cheering for him especially when he showed his gentler side, he was a true romantic at least when it came to Natalie. Natalie was a determined woman who wanted to do all that she could, she wanted to be the best. Like Wes, I wanted Natalie to open up to him about her feelings and tell him once and for all how she felt. Although I did like that she was not waiting for him, she was doing what she could with her life.

I really liked the cross over with the Dirty Sexy series. It was fun to read about the Kincaid brothers. It actually makes me want to reread their stories.

I am reading Faking It next.

Close Contact

Miles Dartman was an ex-MMA fighter and was starting new work as a bodyguard. He will be blown away when the woman who he had a couple one night stands with will be asking for his help. Miles is a little suspicious but he will quickly find out that she was telling the truth.

Maxi Nevar was never going to look up her one night stand but she had no choice as someone was after her. Maxi had received a large inheritance and a farm house since her grandmother and mother’s passing. She will quickly find that having that money will not always be a good thing.

Close Contact is the third book to the series Body Armor by Lori Foster. I liked the book. The first couple pages were very intriguing and disturbing. Maxi wakes up disorientated near her property as she had been drugged. That will be her wake up call to get help. It was an opening that pulled me into the story.

Miles character was a strong man who had been burned by a woman, but he just wanted another chance with her, especially when he sees her again. Miles will be very protective of Maxi and will be suspicious of many but mainly her family and ex boyfriend. He will stop at nothing to get to the truth. Maxi’s character was a woman who had been through a lot and needed to find herself again. It was hard when she thought someone had been after her. So the intriguing thing was Maxi’s character had received an inheritance which usually brings out people from your past, but there will be a twist that I didn’t see coming which I thought was well done.

The next book to Body Armor series is coming out in March, Fast Burn.

New York, Actually

Molly was an advice columnist who had a big following but she was a fraud as her relationships never worked. Then she met Daniel but she still knew that it would never last.

Daniel was a divorce lawyer who was good at his job. He was happy with his job and satisfied with his life then he saw Molly. He knew he wanted to get to know her and when he does he figures out she was what was missing from this life.

New York, Actually is the fourth book from the series From Manhattan with Love by Sarah Morgan. I really enjoyed this book. It started out a little slow for me but quickly picked up as I got to know Molly and Daniel.

Molly’s character was intriguing. She was adamant about not being good in relationships which was her own way of sabotaging any chance at happiness. I was intrigued with whatever she had been running from and I loved that Daniel helped her by showing she can love. I will say that I was a little disappointed with her ex who basically got his happy ending by destroying Molly though I can’t be too angry because in the end she was happy as well. Daniel’s character was a good man. He might have started out their meeting with a white lie but he did everything right. He was a solid presence in her life and was someone who did not run when things got tough.

I am looking forward to continuing with the series. There are two more that I need to read which are about the twins who are introduced in this book.

Miracle on 5th Avenue

Eva Jordan is a romantic who will always look on the bright side of things. She had lost her grandmother but she had the support of her friends to get through the loss. She will be given a job to help design Lucas Blade, the writer, apartment but she will be surprised that he was at home. Lucas Blade was supposed to be writing in Vermont but will be staying at his apartment trying to write through his writers block.

Miracle on 5th Avenue is the third book to the series From Manhattan with Love by Sarah Morgan. Alright I liked the book, it was cute and sweet and all about moving on but I guess I just wasn’t as invested in this book.

Now I liked Eva’s character but she was a little much at times with her positive behavior. I didn’t want her character to not be positive but it was a lot at times. Other than her enthusiasm I liked that she was kind and did what she could to help others. Lucas’s character was still brooding about his wife who had passed away several years ago. He also had writers block because of his mood. It was interesting that Eva helped solve the writers block. What happens to his story is predictable and a little comical but it helps bring them closer. I will say that even though I wasn’t that invested in the book I thought the ending was sweet and brought a smile to my face as I finished the book.

Once Upon a Maiden Lane

Miss Mary Whitsun will be stopped at the bookstore by a man who thought she was his fiancee, Lady Johanna Albright. She will be told that she was the missing twin of the Albrights. Mary will immediately be taught all that it meant to be a lady and will learn that with this came a fiancee, Viscount Blackwell.

Henry Collins, Viscount Blackwell was to marry the oldest daughter of the Albrights. It would have been Cecilia but she was never found, he was told to marry Johanna whom he thought as a sister. Now with Mary, he believes that she is the missing twin and Henry finds himself wanting Mary from the moment they interacted.

Once Upon a Maiden Lane is the third story from the Maiden Lane Novella series by Elizabeth Hoyt. I really loved this novella. It was really well done and it was fun that Mary Whitsun was the main character. She was always in the background.

Mary’s character was wonderful. She is a servant but really more of a friend to Lady Caire since she grew up in their orphanage. I liked that Mary was strong in her character. She did not back down but you knew that with everything that was happening it was overwhelming. She will be up to the challenge especially as she gets to know Henry more every time he stops by. Henry’s character was charming and smiled at the right times. I liked that he had to work at getting Mary to like him. I also liked that true feelings started to form.

There is a twist that is a little sad but with that twist comes an opportunity to change the situation and make a new future, which I really loved.

Now, I keep reading that this is the last book of the series for Maiden Lane. Don’t know if it is true. If it is then this was a great ending to the whole series.
