Immortal Nights

immortal-nightsAbigail Forsythe has had a tough couple years and they will get a lot worse when she finds herself hiding in the back of a cargo plane, but she wouldn’t be alone. Abigail will find an unconscious man who had been kidnapped. She will help free him but they will have to move fast to keep distance between them and the kidnappers.

Tomasso Notte and his brother had been kidnapped. His brother had escaped and with the help of a stowaway he will escape as well. Though Tomasso will not be freed from the trouble as it will follow him and Abigail as they search the island for safety.

Immortal Nights is the twenty fourth book to the series Argeneau by Lynsay Sands. I thought that this novel was good. I liked reading about Tomasso and his plot intrigued me as it continued with the Notte twins.

Abigail’s character was someone who had it tough for a long time. She was a strong woman to handle caring for her mother. You wanted Abigail to find love and to be happy again and for her to get her life together how she wanted, like becoming a doctor again. Tomasso’s character a strong warrior and loyal to his family. He was also adorable as he was a closet nerd. He liked science but you would hardly know that as he didn’t speak much. Though when he does speak he is thoughtful.

There are parts in this book that is the same with every book which is always explaining about the immortals. I think that Lynsay Sands writes it well but it gets repetitive especially since I have read this series from the beginning. The danger in this book is low key but Sands will leave us with a cliffhanger at the end.

The next book is coming out in March of 2017.

Runaway Vampire

Runaway VampireMary Winslow was on her last road trip that she had taken with her husband before he had passed away. Mary’s trip will soon get sidetracked when she ends up hitting something with the RV. Mary will find her life turned upside down when she helps the man she had hit and will find there was a whole knew world she never knew.

Dante Notte had been kidnapped with his twin but Dante was able to escape. He will land himself in trouble when he is injured but that will lead him to his life mate. Dante will stop at nothing to find his brother and keep hold onto Mary.

Runaway Vampire is the twenty-third book to the Argeneau series by Lynsay Sands. So with this series I have found the newer books just don’t interest me as much but I keep reading them because I have liked this series. This newest book was interesting. I liked it and in the beginning I was brought into the story pretty fast. Then I found myself slowing down. It wasn’t like it was bad or anything but the story for me slowed down and that made it harder to get through.

Dante’s character was a man on a mission which was to get away from his kidnappers and find his brother. I liked that even with his life mate around his priority was his brother. Although a lot of his time will go to Mary as she his his life mate. Mary’s character was a sixty year old woman who had a hard life in her earlier years. The bad years was her marriage to her husband but they had gotten over their troubles. I wasn’t loving how Mary had stayed in her marriage after her husband cheated multiple times but she forgave and that gave her a chance at happiness. Mary’s interaction with Dante was comical especially when she was an older woman who was looking at Dante with hunger in her eyes. She resisted but once she becomes immortal there is no stopping her character from jumping Dante’s bones.

The bad guys you really didn’t get to know much and I hope you learn more but that might come into play with the next book as that will feature Dante’s brother. It might take me some time to read it but I will get there.

Remembrance

RemembranceSusannah Simon is officially engaged to the love of her life, Jesse, but an old enemy will make her future look bleak. Susannah will have to find a way to save Jesse and make sure that they have a future together.

Remembrance is the seventh book to the mediator series by Meg Cabot. So, I liked the book and then it bugged me at certain points. The mistake that I did was read some reviews which weren’t very nice. That jaded my thoughts when I was reading but I could completely understand what that reviewer was having issues with.

Susannah’s character has grown up but mentally I think she is the same girl. She goes into things without thinking. She doesn’t get backup when the situation is dangerous or even when she goes to see Paul. The question is why does she even respond to Paul. Paul has also not changed and he is still a manipulator. He knows what buttons to press and Susannah falls for it every time, and he will never change. Now Susannah is not an idiot, she knows when Paul is up to things but she still does not share that information with the man that she loves, a man she should trust completely. Now Jesse’s character was a man out of time but was adjusting and making something with his life. I liked that he truly loved Susannah and wanted her in his life, but at times I was wondering why he bothered when she wasn’t trusting him. Of course being a fan of Susannah and Jesse’s characters I wanted them to find happiness.

Within the book I did like the case she was on with the little girl’s ghost. I thought that was interesting. There was also a surprise when it came to Susannah’s step family which was comical though in away a little sad especially if the truth ever came out.

So, overall I have to say that I was happy to find out more about the characters and to read that Susannah and Jesse had their happy ending. I would have been happy with just the sixth book but with Remembrance you knew their future together was more solid.

Proposal

ProposalSuze Simon and Jesse are back after twelve years since the sixth book had been published. Alright so first off I had loved this series when I was a teenager. It had finished right in the my senior year of high school and I had loved how Meg Cabot finished their story. So when I heard that the series was being resurfaced with two more stories I was cheering, then I was hesitant. I wasn’t sure if I wanted to read these two stories because that would change my fairy tale ending with Jesse and Suze in the sixth book. Well I decided to take a chance and read the new stories.

Proposal is the 6.5 in the series Mediator by Meg Cabot and Meg Cabot takes us back to Suze and Jesse who are still together but are now in college and Jesse is becoming a doctor. I felt with this story it was almost like a teaser before the novel.

I liked the story of Suze helping out the ghost which is just how Suze has always been. She just has to do things the hard way. The one thing that bugged me was that Suze did not learn from past mistakes. She gets something from Paul and will not be telling Jesse. She has not learned that keeping secrets will get herself into trouble. Although I think the trouble will happen more in the novel.

I will be reading Remembrance next.

North of Need

North of NeedMegan Snow had survived her husbands death but two years after his passing she wasn’t ready to let go. Then she will find a man outside her cabin door in trouble. Megan will help him only to find out that Owen Winters was not a normal man.

Owen Winters was a God of Winter. He thrived in cold conditions. Now during one snow storm he will meet Megan Snow but he will not have a lot of time to be with her. As it gets warmer Owen will have to somehow convince Megan that they can be together, to love each other.

North of Need is the first book to the series Hearts of Anemoi by Laura Kaye. I really liked this book. It was a quick read that was full of sweet and steamy scenes between the two characters. I will have to say that this book did remind me of Frosty the Snowman but only a very little as Owen was made out of a snowman and comes to life but that is were the similarities pretty much stop. Frosty never turned in to a strong and powerful God of Winter.

Megan’s character was a woman who was grieving for her husband. She was a shell of the woman she used to be but that will change. I liked that she did not just jump right into being in love with Owen. He had to work hard to get her to feel again, but she did open up and start to live again. Owen’s character was a man who was experiencing things for the first time. Everything was new to him. I liked that he was so joyful, full of life, which was what helps heal Megan.

There was some definite steamy scenes and I will say the ending was perfect to the point of cheesy but I liked it nevertheless.

Vampire Valentine

Bitten By Cupid

Vampire Valentine is a novella in the series Argeneau Family. This novella is part of a collection called Bitten By Cupid. I will be honest and say that I didn’t read the other two novellas as I just wanted to read the one from Lynsay Sands.

This novella falls around the fifteenth book which is when Stephanie plays matchmaker. Well this book is all about getting Stephanie to Port Henry where she will have to stay for awhile. Tiny and Mirabeau have to make sure that Stephanie arrives safe. I liked this novella. It was of course short but too the point and I liked that it was with Tiny who had worked side by side with Marguerite when she was investigating.

So Tiny’s character was a big guy, very much the opposite of his name. He was smart and quiet but when it comes to his lifemate he will be very sensual like all the others. Tiny was adorable and I liked that he was getting his happy ending as well. Mirabeau’s story was interesting with what she had endured in her past. I liked that she had become an enforcer to help. I also liked that she lightened up when Tiny was around.

There was not much danger that was involved in this novella, in fact there was none at all, but I was okay with that as I liked the story because of the characters.

Blood Kiss

Blood KissParadise wanted to become more than to find a mate and have children. She wanted to find her real self and to do that she was going to join the Brotherhood. Though she will find herself being distracted when she starts to fall for one of her classmates.

Blood Kiss is the first book to the series Black Dagger Legacy by J.R. Ward. I really, really liked this book. One reason being the character of Paradise. I thought it was really great that there was another woman going to fight with the brotherhood. There are several but they are easily outnumbered by the guys. Paradise grew up with money but that did not have her become selfish or cruel to those around her. I liked that she was kind but she had a backbone.

The second reason I really liked this book was that Butch and Marissa were another big part of the book. I really liked Butch’s character. He was still very rough around the edges but you had to love him and how he cared. He just didn’t show it that well. I also liked he was training the new recruits with V.

So there was definitely romance within the book. For Butch and Marissa it was a rekindling of their romance. Then there was Paradise and Craeg. Craeg fought to keep his distance but that wouldn’t stop what was happening between them.

The next book will be out in December so I have a little of a wait but when it comes out I know I will be reading it.
