Judd Sanders was undercover as a stripper. His job was to get close to one man who ran the illegal business but there will be a woman that gets in the way. Judd will be annoyed by Emily’s behavior but he knows he has to protect her.
Emily Cooper wanted revenge against the man that was responsible for selling her brother a gun. She will find help in a stripper but will find that Judd is not all that he seems.
Outrageous is a novel by Lori Foster. This book was one of the first novels by Foster. Now I liked it, but it wasn’t my favorite of her stories. It took me some time to truly get into the story and when that happened I felt that I wanted more with the characters. I wanted to know more about them, to flush out more detail about them. I thought that the plot was fun and a little silly with Judd being undercover and having to play a stripper. Then there is Emily who is a socialite but not really. She is a more down to earth than her wealthy parents.
Even though this one wasn’t my favorite I will still be completely willing to read more from Lori Foster as the majority of her books I have really loved.
Double the Pleasure is a collection of four stories by four different authors. My drive to read this book was because of Lori Foster’s novella Deuces Wild. This novella is part of the series Winston Brothers and Cousins. I loved this series especially the story that had Joe in it. I liked this novella. It was short but overall it was good. The story was about twin brothers and Hart had to leave but needed Dex to stay and pretend to be him. The problem happens when Dex’s meets and girl and she thinks that he is Hart, and Dex goes along with the lie. I felt that the girl forgave a little too easily but it had to be done quickly with the story being a novella. I liked the twin brothers. With reading Dex’s story I am intrigued with Hart and what was going on with the girl he had been with then left. It might be awhile before I find his story but I will be on the look out for it.
The other authors and their stories are The Lucy of the Irish by Deirdre Martin, which is about a carpenter who has the choice of going home to Ireland or sticking around in New York. With this one I wished that it was a book because then you would have gotten to really know the characters. You got to know them but it felt way to quick. The next book is Your Room or Mine? by Jacquie D’ Alessandro. This one is all about coworkers who judge each other to quickly but with a weekend to bond things will heat up. I liked the story. Once again I thought it was too short but it was enjoyable. The last book of the collection is Double the Danger by Penny McCall which is with an FBI agent and witness protection. Personally I wasn’t that into the book. I read it but it didn’t really thrill me.
Overall I will have to say that this collection was an enjoyable read.
Billionaire Sebastian Cabral never wanted to be famous like his family. He avoided their reality tv show like it was the plague. He will get worried when his ex shows up and wants to get back together. Sebastian will do something drastic and ask Chelsea to marry him. He will be shocked that she agreed to his proposal. The marriage was supposed to be platonic but Sebastian could not stop from wanting his wife.
Chelsea Hall was a happy person on the outside and around other people but when she was alone and in the dark she was terrified. Chelsea will have too many things happening which will lead to her to make a rash decision and get married to Sebastian. She will feel safe with him but she will be worried when her past and his reality collide.
The Billionaire Takes a Bride is the third book to the series Billionaires and Bridemaids by Jessica Clare. I really liked this book. It was fun with lighthearted writing, steamy scenes, then it will get darker as a secret from Chelsea’s past will come out.
I loved Chelsea. She was a young woman who had a tragic past and to help her handle the nightmares she becomes part of a derby. Playing lets her become stronger and not the scared woman that leaves on all the lights. I liked how Sebastian’s character will be a big help to Chelsea. Sebastian is a stand up guy who has a wacky family. I liked that Sebastian doesn’t want to be famous with his family and I liked how he finally stood up to his mother who did something bad without knowing.
The interaction between Sebastian and Chelsea was really well done. It felt real with how they were interacting together and it was sweet. Of course it will get steamy as they get closer and understand what they need from one another, especially Chelsea.
The secret that Chelsea was holding was predictable but well done. It was a tragic event that happened to her and it will get even worse towards the end which had me cringing.
I am waiting to read the fourth book which is out now. I am excited to read about Asher and Greer.
Edie liked cats better than people but for her friend she was going to be a bridesmaid. At the party Edie will meet the man she was going to walk down the isle with and is immediately disgusted with him, but when she starts to interact with him she will wonder if there could be more.
Magnus just wants to work on his game with his brother but his brother is the problem. Levi is in love and the woman he loves can not leave her sister, Edie. Magnus will have to pretend to like her so his brother can be with the younger sister. But then when Magnus starts to spend more time with Edie he will find himself falling for her.
The Taming of the Billionaire is the second book to the series Billionaires and Bridemaids. I really liked this book. The first book to this series was good but this one caught my attention and held on until the very end.
What I liked about the book was that it was an adaptation of the Taming of the Shrew. Edie played her part well as the shrew. But I found her really likeable. She was yes hard at times but nothing horrible. I liked that Edie was getting a chance a love again even though it started under false pretenses. Throughout the book I was waiting for the lies to stop and for Edie to find out the truth. You know it will happen but it unravels a lot more which had me disliking Bianca even more. So Magnus’s character was a video gamer programmer. He was pretty much a nerd which I loved. He got so wrapped up in his games that he was a little antisocial which matched him well with Edie. I didn’t like that he was lying but loved that true emotion was starting to bloom.
What I thought was adorable was when Magnus had adopted two cats. With the cats in the book my inner cat lady was being channeled. I only have one cat so I don’t know it that really qualifies me but I do love animals. My house was never empty of pets, we mostly had dogs, but I have always loved cats. I think the addition with these cats was a fun element to the story.
What I didn’t like about the book were two characters, Bianca and Levi. First off they were both very immature and cruel with how they were treating Edie. You will learn more on Bianca and I can only say is that is not a good person. She is a user. Levi is not too bad. For him its more on maturity. If he does get his own story I would hope that he matures a great deal. I really don’t want Bianca to have her own story because I think her character would never truly change.
It appears that the stories that have the characters from Gretchen’s bridal party is happening all at the same time because you found out about Sebastian and Asher within this book. Or at least their stories were already happening. I am reading the third book next.
Marjorie Ivarsson was on an island for a wedding for her best friend. It was an all expense paid vacation where Marjorie could relax but with her height she never got comfortable. Then she will save the of a man. She will want this man but will feel out of place and awkward, that is until he pulls her out of her shell.
Robert Cannon was a tv producer of crude shows that exploited woman. He wanted another show and thought Logan Hawkings was the perfect broker for that venture. He will be shot down at every turn but he soon wouldn’t care when a woman catches his attention. He will be relentless with it comes to pursuing Marjorie but will be afraid it could all end.
The Billionaire and the Virgin is first book to the series Billionaires and Bridemaids by Jessica Clare. I really liked this book. I thought it was a great spin off series.
Marjorie was a young woman that thought herself odd with her height. She felt out of place but she secretly loved wearing high heels which only increased her height. Marjorie was also a virgin which made her even more insecure. I liked that she got more playful and had less stress when she let herself go which she could with Rob. So Robert’s “Rob” character was rather crude and kind of slimy at least on the surface. Well he was still crude no matter what but his character grew on you. I ended up liking his character because when you read what he was thinking, he wasn’t that bad as his reputation portrayed. He also grows in the story, along with Majorie, to become a better person or really the person he should have been.
The problems in the book were predictable but it was enjoyable and I found myself wanting to get to the end to know how Jessica Clare would finish the story to give that happy ending.
Lacey Weston wanted to come home from college but her stubborn brothers would not budge. They wanted to make sure she finished college. Lacey will do what she had to which meant fake a pregnancy to stay in her hometown. She will be surprised that the man she lusted after would volunteer to be the fake father of her fake baby.
Cooper Grainger was an ex cop turned mechanic and he had it bad for his best friends sister. They had slept together once and since then Cooper would help her but tried to avoid her as temptation was too great. Then he will go above and beyond and help Lacey out with her fake pregnancy.
Some Girls Do is the first book to the series Outback Heat by Amy Andrews. Well this is another free book from amazon and I found it very entertaining. It wasn’t mind blowing but it was a good story with some sizzle.
The concept was that Lacey didn’t want to go back to school and her brothers were being stubborn, and making her feel guilty about wanting to leave. I thought the brothers were pushy but they were trying to keep the promise they made to their mother on her deathbed. They were unfair with Lacey and she at times felt a little too flighty in the beginning but as you get to know her character she is still a kid that had a tragedy happen to her and she never had a chance to really grieve. I did like that she was able to be herself when she was with Coop. So I liked Coop’s character. He was a good man, someone who was reliable and talented mechanic. I liked him with Lacey though the age gap was pretty big with thirteen years. Well they do make it work and the attraction between them doesn’t hurt.
If I can get the other three books, which are about the Weston brothers, I would be interested in reading about them.
Blair Hansen-Lowry was in love with her husband but insecurities were still present with Blair especially with Valentine’s Day tonight. She will want to do something with her husband but when his plane is delayed things will go from bad to worst.
Garrett Lowry wanted to get back to his wife for Valentine’s Day but luck was not on his side as his plane was delayed. He will fight hard to get to her for tonight especially as they had fought over the phone.
The Valentine is fourth book to the series The Wedding Pact by Denise Grover Swank. I loved this novella that continued Blair’s and Garrett’s story. Their story had been the most intense of the series with all the heartbreak that was between them and it had been the most compelling one to read. I liked that Swank continued their story, to show how their marriage was going, and it was anything but perfect. Though it was all them and to me that made the story fantastic to read.
I liked that Blair was softening up. She was still tough and insecure but she was in love and that showed. Of course Blair really is her own worst enemy, but I liked that Blair knew she overreacted right away. Garrett is the perfect husband. He loves Blair for who she is and he doesn’t want to change her. He does put his foot in the mouth but he always makes up for it.
There was a surprise at the end that had me cringing and hoping everything would come out fine. Thankfully that was the case because this couple had gone through so much. I wanted them to be happy and to be happy with each other.
I am really hoping for more on this series and hope that more will be written. I wouldn’t mind reading a story on Garrett’s sister or one on Blair’s assistant. So then I looked at the website and saw she had written the book Only You which is a start of another series that has Kevin (Meghan’s brother in the first book). I will definitely be checking out this book.
