Lucy wanted passion and she was determined to get that passion from a one night stand, then Bram stops her. She will be shocked when Bram offers her a week together where he will show her what she had missed. Lucy was hesitant but will agree because the heat between them was undeniable.
Bram was furious that Lucy wanted to have an affair with someone else. He wanted that man to be him and him alone as he had loved Lucy for years. Bram was determined to show Lucy that they could work together by giving her a week of passion.
Luring Lucy is a novella by Lori Foster. This was a good quick and steamy novella that was enjoyable to read. I liked these characters but they were certainly not drawn out a much as they could have been. Though being a novella Foster does a good job with describing the characters and their traits.
So this book is pretty much about sex. There is not a lot of deep thinking but I liked the characters which made the story enjoyable. These characters were about 40 and one had already made the leap to 40. A lot of the stories I read are with couples who are in their twenties or with the romance novels its usually debutantes and the heroes are getting closer to their thirties. I liked that the characters were more mature and it gave their second chance that much sweeter.
Anthony Townsend was in a panic as he raced to find his missing nephew. His search brought him to Lady Fenella Deerham. He will be shocked by this woman. She seemed quiet and fragile but she was stronger than she looked. Anthony will want her right away but will wonder if he could have her.
Lady FenellaDeerham has known the love of one man and for five years she had mourned his death. Now with the encouragement of her friends she is out to live again. But her heart will not be in it until she meets Anthony Townsend. Although she will have little time to think about it as she was searching for her son and Anthony’s nephew.
Tempting Mr. Townsend is the second book to the series Dashing Widows by Anna Campbell. I really liked this story. I pretty much devoured it in one sitting which of course didn’t take long as its a novella.
I had wondered about Fenella in the previous book. I had hoped that she would get out and try to enjoy life. She was too serious and even though you understood she loved her husband it had been five years. Fenella was still young and should find another man to love. What I also liked was that Fenella was stronger than she let others see. Anthony was a man of the working class and he made a life for himself. He was a brute of a man but when it came to Fenella he was tender.
I liked the beginning with the missing child and nephew. Fenella and Anthony had to work together to find them and I liked that you got to get to know the characters before they immediately had sex. Anna Campbell then went into the scenes where of course they had steamy sex but I think the timing worked, especially with this story being a novella.
I can’t wait to read Helena and West’s story which is now available to buy.
Lady Amelia Pembroke was on a quest to find a husband so she would not be a burden to her brother. In order to do that she had to make sure the annual Sheffield Christmas party happened without an problem.
Lord Benedict Sheffield was stuck doing his family’s party but will find himself being pushed to the side as Lady Amelia will take over the planning. He will be fascinated by this woman every moment he spends with her.
The Viscounts Christmas Temptation is the first book in the series The Dukes of War by Erica Ridley.
So this was a free book from amazon that I decided to try. Personally it was okay. Nothing too special for me. I guess why I didn’t really love it was because of Amelia who was just too perfect. Don’t get me wrong I like to be organized but she took it much farther. Her character just didn’t draw me in right away. It did get better as I read on but it was still just okay.
Miss Elinora “Nora” Browning had become an author the day the man she loved had cruelly crushed her dreams. Her pamphlet sold to many but now years later she will meet up with the man who was the inspiration and find that she still loved him, even though he still vexed her.
Lord Dashwood Missed Out is a book from the Spindle Cove series by Tessa Dare. This novella is number 4.5 in the series. I have loved this series since I started it and I was so happy that Tessa Dare decided to write another story. There will be another story coming out which will be a novel.
I really liked this novella but I will say that I kind of wish it was a novel. I felt that the story was rushed and I wanted the characters to be drawn out more. I think it would help because Dash was someone I really couldn’t warm up to for most of the novel. Well I did like him but I couldn’t understand his intentions. I wondered if he was out for revenge or he wanted to win back Nora. I did like how Dash made up for his methods at the end. With Nora’s character I liked how she was strong enough to put her feelings down on paper and just write. She was still naive but that innocent trait was enduring with her character.
What I really liked was that Dare put in the other characters from the previous books. You got to read how things were going for them and it looks like everyone is happy, which was nice to read.
The next novel from Spindle Cove series will be coming out in September and it will be with Charlotte. I don’t have long to wait.
Armie Jacobson has wanted his best friends sister for many years but he has kept away. He didn’t think that he was good enough, then he will find himself playing protector to Merissa and things will start to change. He will find out that the woman he has wanted for years, wanted him as well. But there will be a problem and Armie will have to protect Merissa from being hurt when his past comes out.
Merissa “Rissy” Colter has loved Armie for years but she was always seen as a little sister. Then something changes. They will kiss and Merissa will become aware that Armie wants her, but he is still distant. Merissa will not let Armie go which means she has to pursue. Though Merissa will have a problem when accidents are happening around her and Armie’s past comes back.
Fighting Dirty is the fourth book to the series Ultimate by Lori Foster. I loved this book. So far, I’ve loved this series. Though as always I am a Lori Foster fan and I really loved that she went back to the stories with fighters, like the ones in SBC Fighters series. In this one she even brings back several of the main characters from the SBC Fighters series and Jude from the book Jude’s Law.
Alright, so Armie’s character is fantastic. He was not your typical hero. He was loud and known for his sexual exploits. But then he worked for kids and was sympathetic towards them. He was someone you could count on. Merissa was a woman who did the right thing and was just living her life. I liked Merissa but I wanted her to either take the chance and get closer to Armie or step away. Well she does take that step with Armie which I loved. Together they were perfect for each other because they completed each other. Armie was not that outrageous and Merissa was not that shy.
The problems that occurred were due to Armie’s past and Merissa’s. Armie’s past I had wondered about since the beginning of the series. I had a couple guesses and one of them turned out right. I liked that Foster will resolve the issue which helps Armie move on. Merissa’s problems weren’t from that long ago in the past, more towards the present. I thought that the problems they faced were well developed and it made me want to know more.
Lori Foster is continuing with the series but the next book comes out in January of 2017. So I have a bit of a wait but I have no doubt I will enjoy it.
Becca was ready to get back to work but she was scared, especially because the hospital was where she was attacked. But she wanted to get on with her life and be happy with Nick. Though that happiness will be threatened when she starts to see the man that had hurt her.
Hard Ever After is the final book to the Hard Ink series by Laura Kaye, though there are some spin off books which I can’t wait to read when they are available to check out. I absolutely loved this book. It was really fun going back to Becca and Nick who started the series and that they were going to get their happy ending with everything that had happened. Though the danger wasn’t over quite yet.
I loved how Laura Kaye wrote Becca. She had been a strong woman but when everything calms down its like Becca finally feels the impact of all that had happened. She becomes weaker, sad, and shaken by what had happened. She felt real. Though the fighter in Becca is still there and that will be shown at a critical moment, I was cheering for Becca when that happened. So Nick’s character is reliable and strong but he is also scared. He doesn’t want anything to happen to Becca especially now when they are so close to be truly happy.
Alright, so Laura Kaye wraps up the story in a nice little bow which is sappy and a little too perfect, and I loved it anyways. I loved that all these characters had that happy ending.
So the Raven Riders series who were mentioned in this series will have their own now and the first book just came out in April. There is no doubt in my mind that I will be reading this series. Then there is a continuation of one of the characters from Hard Ink, which is Detective Kyle Vance who helped the men. Well he will have his own story coming out this month. So I wouldn’t have to wait too long.
Tyler was a champion skier but his career ended when he was injured in a jump. He is at home helping out the family and his close friend. Though when his daughter starts to play matchmaker with him and Brenna, Tyler will not be able to ignore his best friend anymore.
Brenna has loved Tyler from a very young age but she knew that he would never reciprocate those feelings. She had long ago learned to live with the disappoint but when she moves in with Tyler things will start to change, and Brenna will have to be brave and tell him how she feels.
Maybe this Christmas is the third book to the series O’Neil Brothers by Sarah Morgan. I really loved this book. For me this was the best book out of the three. I loved the book because it took two best friends and gave them a chance to find that happy ending they deserve.
I loved Brenna. She was a very confident woman on ski’s but with confrontation she becomes a shell of herself. That was all because of a bully that really screwed up her self esteem. You wanted her to break out of that shell and tell Tyler how she really felt. Now Tyler I liked a lot but he had screwed up. He wasn’t taking a chance on love. You wanted to shake him for not going for Brenna especially as you knew his thoughts were not brotherly. Though I will say that the ending more than made up for any mistakes that were made by Tyler.
Jess’s mother, Janet, was a piece of work. She was pretty horrible and all due to jealousy. I wanted to hate her and I pretty much did. You can understand why she did what she did but Janet went about it the completely wrong way.
As I said above the ending was perfect, and it was a wonderful way to finish the novel. I wouldn’t say the ending was corny, I thought it was beautiful. The romantic in me was very happy when I turned the last page of the book.
