Daniel was on a mission to find Regan. He will be shocked to find her a fighter and will become fascinated with the woman. He will do anything to protect Regan and at the same time find the men who took his sister.
Regan was living in a hellhole for the last two months and knew that no one was coming to get her. But Regan would not give up and let the bastards win. Though Regan will be rescued by a man who had been sent by Daisy, and she will fight to get back home.
Last Breath is the second book to the series Hitman by Jessica Clare and Jen Frederick. I liked the book. I think that since I just read the first one I knew what to expect and it flowed really well, even with all the horrible things that happened.
Well there was certainly a lot of bad things that happened in the book. The major was with what happened to Regan’s character. I really liked her character but I felt it was a little unbelievable that she would be raped repeatedly and then want to be with Daniel later on in the book. And that was only just a few days after meeting him. Although I did like her with Daniel because it gave her someone to be happy with again. What I liked was that Regan’s character wasn’t broken. She was on the verge of being broken but it had not happened. So then there is Daniel’s character. He was strong and skilled in warfare. I liked that he was easy going but he was very lethal at the same time. His story was interesting as he was looking for his sister who had also been taken.
So I was really happy that the authors gave a conclusion with Mike, Regan’s boyfriend before she was taken. I liked it because it gave closure to Regan.
I am continuing with the series and will be reading Last Kiss next. This one is with Naomi who was Daniel’s sister.
Nikolai was a trained assassin since he was a young boy. He has killed many. When Nikolai meets Daisy he will want her instantly but he has to be careful as he has enemies who will be after him, and Daisy.
Daisy needed freedom from the life she had lived and she takes that chance. She will move out and be on her own for the first time. It is then that she meets Nikolai and everything in her life will change.
Last Hit is the first book to the series Hitman by Jessica Clare and Jen Frederick. First off I did like the book but it took some time to truly get into it. Don’t get me wrong, there was intrigue and I wanted to know what the heck was going on, but it took some time for me to really like the novel. A part of the reason I think was it was just so different from her other series. Though once I was into the story I was in it for the whole book.
Daisy’s character was a sweet, naive girl who was in way over her head. I liked her character for the most part but she was a little too trusting, and that was too unbelievable. Though I did like that she gave Nikolai a chance because you knew that she would find what she needed with him. Now Nikolai is a dangerous man. He has been a trained assassin for many years. He will be watching Daisy, which I will say is a little creepy. Although that is is job. I found myself liking Nikolai. He was a man stuck in a job that he was trained to do, not something he loved. I liked that he was starting to change thanks to Daisy.
So there is some definite danger that surrounds the book. You would think something would happen because this book was about an assassin. I was surprised with how the situation turned bad, but after thinking about it you knew something would happened.
I am going to be continuing the series and will be reading Last Breath next.
Miss Madeline Gracechurch had written letters since she was sixteen to her brave beau, Captain Logan MacKenzie, and she was devastated when he had died. But Madeline had not truly known heartbreak as her Captain was imaginary. She will be shocked years later when Captain Logan MacKenzie comes to her home wanting to marry her.
Captain Logan MacKenzie had come to Madeline to find a place for his men and for himself. He also wanted to meet the naive English girl who had written him letters. Logan will be surprised when he meets his intended but nothing would stop him from his goal.
When a Scot Ties the Knot is the third book from the series Castles Ever After by Tessa Dare. I really loved this book. I love how Dare weaves together her plot and characters. In this story it is truly like a fairy tale when Captain Logan and Madeline meet at the castle. Although the problem in this fairy tale was they had never met before, the letters Madeline wrote were to a fictional man.
So the character of Madeline was interesting. She was a nervous girl who had created a beau so she could be left alone. Her shyness was overwhelming and with the explanation that Dare gives it was no wonder that she was scared of crowds. Now Captain Logan was someone I liked but to be honest at first I was thinking he would not be a character I would like. He was being cruel to Madeline right from the beginning. Although when you get to know him and what had happened you start to truly understand him. I wanted him to find happiness with Madeline.
The ending was charming and very sweet, and it was very befitting to the story.
Clio Whitmore was tired of waiting for her fiance, Piers Brandon, to get her to the alter. After eight years she was done waiting. She wanted out of her engagement and to do that she had to talk to Piers brother Rafe. But Rafe will not want her to get out of the engagement. She will be shocked when he will start to plan the wedding.
Say Yes to the Marquess is the second book to the series Castles Ever After by Tessa Dare. I really liked this novel. It was cute and charming.
Clio’s character is a woman who wants to now live life and it was only fair since she had waited over eight years for a man who had made a promise to her. Clio I think was strong for being able to finally walk away and for taking control of her life. I liked the idea that she had come up with to make a living. Then there is Rafe’s character who is a prizefighter and very rough around the edges. I liked Rafe but he was at times a little too controlling when it came to making sure he got his way. Although he was a good man as he was just trying to make sure that he did right by his brother. He was especially being a good man as the woman his brother was to marry was someone he wanted.
The ending was sweet and charming. I liked how Dare resolved some issues that were coming between the characters which gave the happy ending.
Kylie was a makeup artist and on her way to a great new job. The only problem happens when she meets a guy, Cade Archer. She will have a one night stand but will find that Cade will be following her. Kylie wants more but the problem was her new boss, Daphne, wants Cade as well.
Cade Archer had been in love with Daphne for years but he finally saw the light and knew she would never be that girl again. It will be then that Cade will meet another woman and will instantly want her. She was everything he had wanted but he just had to get her to believe him.
One Night with a Billionaire is Billionaire Boys Club sixth book by Jessica Clare. I really liked this book. I thought it was a good finish to the series especially the last scene of the book. It gave some humor and a place for these brothers and their significant others.
Alright now Cade’s character was always the good guy, the calm guy, and the dependable guy. I liked that he was all those things but it drove me nuts that he kept wanting Daphne. Though he wanted the Daphne that he knew years ago. I liked that he let himself let loose and tried to be happy. The other character is Kylie who has had her own troubled childhood where she had felt like a burden. She never wants to feel like that again which is why she is so independent. I liked that she tried to make sure that her relationship with Cade was secret to protect Daphne but it got annoying. I wanted her to be just happy with Cade and be accepted, not hide. But what was worse was how Daphne’s people just let her get away with anything. Daphne’s manager was the worst of them all.
Daphne, Daphne, Daphne. She was a character. I really disliked her to the point that is was really hoping that Cade wasn’t stupid to fall for her again. There were some times that you saw her as not a bad person but there were plenty more with times she was horrible. I will say this and I think Jessica Clare gave the right ending to Daphne’s story.
So that is it for the Billionaire Boys Club but I am looking for more books to read. One series I am going towards is Hitman.
Jonathan Lyons loved the adventure of finding a new site and discovering new items that had been lost but his life was never fully satisfying without the woman he loved. Jonathan lost the woman he loved ten years ago but now that she was back in his life he would not let go.
Violet DeWitt was closed off and comfortable in her job as a school teacher. She had wanted nothing to do with Jonathan or the wild goose chase her father would be sending them on, but as she was forced to go Violet went. She was fearful that she would fall right back into love with Jonathan, and with everyday they spent together she was in danger of loving him all over again.
Romancing the Billionaire is the fifth book to the series Billionaire Boys Club by Jessica Clare. I thought this was a great book and a good addiction to the series.
The character of Violet was hardened and closed off because of her past relationship. I wanted to shake Violet to let go a little and trust but the problem when she did that she was always hurt in the end. It takes an effort on Jonathan’s side to show her that she could trust again. Though I will say that it takes Jonathan some time to figure out what he truly needed to do in order to win back Violet. So Jonathan’s character was no villain and was a good man but he liked adventure. Though that life for Jonathan was lonely. I had wondered why Jonathan never even looked up Violet even under the circumstances he was told. I liked that the characters will be back together after ten years as it gave them time to grow up but those ten years left them lonely and disappointed in relationships.
Alright so the ending was yes very predictable because, hey, this is a romance novel, and I know with these types of books I will get that happy ending. But what I loved about the ending was that it was very sweet with the last clue. It gave closure, which I knew it would, and it explained everything. It was what Violet needed at the end.
Well I am moving on to the last book of the series with Cade as the last man. I am interested how Daphne will be. Will she be changed for the better or still self destructive? Once Night with a Billionaire is next.
Griffin Verdi was royalty and hated it. He hated the fuss and everything that went with it. He will be forced to go back home for a wedding and with his luck he had to get a new assistant, Maylee. Griffin will be shocked by this new assistant but as he spends time with her, Griffin finds himself feeling things for this woman.
Maylee Meriweather was out of her depth but she wanted to make sure to do her job well. She will work hard for Griffin but she found it difficult to follow all the rules and even more difficult not to fall for her boss.
Once Upon a Billionaire is the fourth book to the series Billionaire Boys Club by Jessica Clare. Alright so I really liked this book but there were a couple things that drove me a little nuts to annoyed. It mainly was how Griffin acted. He was a snob and not very good with people. He kept making these comments that really hurt Maylee. He will make it right but he comes very close to loosing her. So then there is Maylee. I guess I wouldn’t say she drove me nuts because in reality I did really like her character. I think that her character was a little over the top. But I did like her spirit with how she was seeing everything for the first time.
So, personally I don’t see how a naive southern girl would end up with a snobbish royal but as this is fiction that will happen, and hey I’m a sucker for characters finding love. Well, what I will say is that Jessica Clare wrote these characters well with how they should and would act.
So another book to the series down and now I am on to the fifth book.
